As the title says, which fossil did you guys usually pick when you found them in the desert (Route 111)? And is there a reason as to why you prefer that fossil over the other?

I chose the Claw fossil because I prefered Anorith's battle style over Lileep's. But because I was playing Emerald, it was possible to go to the Desert Underpass after beating the Elite Four to get the fossil that I didn't pick. I didn't really use Lileep until I wanted a Cradily that will play a defensive role in my team for Battle Fronties Challenges.

Personally like Anorith better out of the two, so I wound up choosing Claw. Plus, Armaldo makes a much better team member in-game, as it has a ton of physical attack stat. It may be sort of slow, but that's not such a big deal. Cradily isn't so bad, but it could be a bit difficult to utilize if you don't have much battling experience. :(

Armaldo was at least kind of cool. Cradily was pretty poorly designed, however, using it in battling, it's a lot better. The defensive aspect is way better than Armaldo's offensive set. I just liked the looks more.

    Hail Helix

Claw fossil, just because Armaldo looked way cooler. Later on I saw that he had way better offensive stats and was better for aggressive play, plus his typing gave him but a few weaknesses.

I picked the Root Fossil in Sapphire, but went with the Claw Fossil in Emerald. I felt that Armaldo was more useful in Emerald, IMO.

I picked Claw in my first run of Ruby, Armaldo looks and is boss.
Seriously, you know you'll want that base 125 Attack.

I picked Root Fossil, because Cradily is my favorite Pokémon besides Ninjask, Shedinja and Metagross. His type Grass/Rock covers most of each other weaknesses, which I liked.

I remember when I first played that I had no interest in having something that looked like a prehistoric flower, so I went with the Claw Fossil. I was pleasantly surprised with how useful Anorith/Armaldo was, and any time I have the choice between the two, I always pick Claw, unless I'm trying to fill the Pokedex.
