Alright guys, so here is the results for the first round (thanks to Hikamaru again for sending me the results!) As such, Round 1 resulted in:

* Regarding #1, Team Fail tried to vote but due to the Streetlight Manifesto song being removed when he voted, he decided not to count his vote for this heat.

As for the tie between Linkin Park and Justin Timberlake, I am going to ask an impartial user to break the tiebreaker between them. And as previouesly stated, I will be sending out PM's to every user so even though your band may not have won Round 1, we will be having a concrete ranking of the 2000s band. Keep your eyes peeled on your inboxes!

I think the big shocker of the Round 1 results was A Fine Frenzy defeating Radiohead, especially because I had never heard of the former prior to this contest. The other results I did expect though, barring the JT/Linkin Park tie.

Much as I love both Eminem and Three Days Grace...I'm not surprised Eminem flushed them out. :P

I would hope to those of you who don't like Eminem that you at least give his music an impartial listen in the next round. I do try to select some of the less "awful" (read as offensive) singles. Well as least offensive as one can expect from Eminem. I ask those of you voting not to vote Eminem off because he chooses to artisically use swears. If you vote against him let it be because you simply enjoy the music of the opposing artist more for reasons above and beyond lyrical choices.

Let it also be known that most all of his records do have clean versions; which tone things down a bit. In those you miss some things...but I think that they're also usually decent enough for someone listening in a less than private venue; and is 100% Safe For Work. You may seek out clean versions of his songs if you have any doubts.

Aside from the atrocious Linkin Park-JT tie, every side I vote for seems to have won so I'm pretty happy about it. Reading through the votes, I expected U2 to lose, and I was sort of bummed about it, but I guess I just read wrong. Woot woot! xD

To give people an update, I'm aiming to start up Round 2 on this upcoming Sunday. I will be away from a computer the next two days - typing this on my phone now - and because I want to say I have everyone's entries, look out for it.

1. Voting for AM again, especially because it's from what the fans consider one of their best albums.

2. Coldplay gets my vote, because that's one of the few Coldplay songs I find good.

3. I listened to Eminem more than the other one, so voting him as well.

4. I don't like that U2 song, but Gorillaz has the better one which is a real classic so Gorillaz it is.

And now for the losers' battle...

5. I heard that M.I.A. song, and I'm more familiar with her music so voting her.

6. Never heard of that Lady Gaga track so giving this one to No Doubt.

7. This one goes to Radiohead for me. One of my faves off In Rainbows.

8. I don't listen to these two, but I'll give it to Three Days Grace.

Some of these are very hard. :(

1: Easily giving this one to Arctic Monkeys.
2: I love LP's Numb but Fix You is an amazing song so this one goes to Coldplay.
3: A Fine Frenzy will get my vote here, but only by a small margin.
4: This one's the hardest. I even had to leave and think on it for a while before I could decide to give the vote to U2. :c

And for the consolation round;
1: I'm not a huge fan of either but this one I'll give to M.I.A for a better song.
2: Lady Gaga gets this one.
3: Definitely Radiohead.
4: Streetlight Manifesto takes this one thanks to a better video.

Voting for the songs which sound more interesting to me. Some of them felt a little too flat or plodding for my tastes. Except for Coldplay which can often feel kinda slow, but dang if I don't really like that song.
