School Chit-Chat

Stadardized testing sucks. I get to spend the next two weeks taking the CAPT tests. It's not gonna be fun. And I won't be in a good mood after those! Especially since I'm already not in a good mood... and the tests won't make me happier...

But on the bright side... less gym! And math! Those classes get cut from my schedule so much! I had gym today and Thursday and in Friday he's taking us to the library to work on our projects! That's the only good part of the messed up scheduling!

Ack!!! We have the MAP teztz coming in a couple weekz ;.; I hate thoze teztz! Long hourz of zitting zilently writing>,< I can't zeem to find anything good about thoze teztz...bezidez lezz homework #_#
I think they rely on theze teztz too much-_-

I wish we got less homework during CAPT... but NO!!! My teachers have to be evil about it. Just because I'm in some honors level classes... why does that mean we need more homework? And a civics quiz on something tomorrow. Our 1st day of testing and he gives us a quiz. That's just mean. I have a strong feeling this won't be a good week for me at all... it sure didn't start off great... *sigh*

No kidding! Waaaay too many teztz! I think zome of them are to zee how well our teacherz are doing, but it'z not very accurate. I alwayz do really well on the big teztz but judging by my gradez you would never know>,<
Arg, that remindez me. Anyone had to take the teztz that tell you what you'd be good at in carrerz? I've taken all kindz and they all zay I'd make a good farmer! Either that or zomeone that cleanz zkyzcraper windowz @.@
...I'll take the farm over that thank you>,<

I've never really taken one of those tests that tell you what job you should have. But last year we sorta took one. When the guidance counselor came down to give us course selection sheets we filled out this test thing. I don't remember what it said exactly. It had a job for each category that we had to fill out... it was confusing. I don't even know what I want to do after college though... definately not agriculure!

I know! Why do we have so many standardized tests? Each state pretty much has their own... so how does that help. Maybe if it was a national thing it would make more sense. But just for one state? It's pretty stupid if you ask me...

Last night I had 3 huge homework projects, and I only finished 1 when I went to bed at 2 am. o_O I finished the rest in school though, luckily. :P I got English, Math, and Biology homework today. In all my classes we did work, except for in History we watched "Saving Private Ryan".

Hmm... today no Homework, but tommro is gonna be a busy day . First I have a Dentist apointment at 9 a.m. then an orthopedict apointment at 2 p.m.(for my knees, doca say i have jumpers knee =? ) then back to school for track till 6..... ugg

CAPT started today... *sigh* Well, okay it wasn't bad at all but I always need something to complain about! So if something bad happens I have something to blame it on! This morning's tests were interdisciplinary (reading 3 sources and writing a persuasive essay) and editing and revising... the easy one! I was kinda disappointed that we didn't get to bubble in our names and stuff on the answer booklet... they gave us a sticker with a barcode on it instead. But I was looking forward to bubbling a lot! I'll be sick of bubbling at the end of the two weeks of CAPT testing.

The test really messed up our schedules though! After bio today we normally have double bio on Tuesdays... but the sub vice-principal announced something about us having a Monday schedule. So half the school went by Tuesday's schedule and everyone else did Monday's. I did Monday's because my bio teacher got confused and called the office to ask. But my study hall teacher was really confused because only about 7 of us showed up for study hall! I don't even think he expected a class then!

And my chorus concert is tomorrow! And I don't know what time it's at! I should check tomorrow and find out! And we don't really know all the words... well now we do, mostly, but there are still some problems. It's not going to be pretty. Especially with people passing out on stage... it almost never fails!

I had to go to an assembly today...some play called "Life in the Fat Lane" that was about a girl who was a beauty queen in high school but became heavy set because she had to be on some medication and how her life was ruined by her former friends...and as always happens during assemblies, I somehow get seated right in front of the hecklers, who were this time shouting sexual obscenities at the actors for the whole play -_-

The entire sophomore class at my school is taking a trip to go see the Career Center where we have the option to go in 11th and 12th grade...I'll tour it but I won't go next year...it's basically for people who want to be automotive mechanics or preschool teachers when they get out of school...touring the place is better than my other option, which is to be in study hall all day V_V The threat of incredible boredom has dragooned me into doing this boring, all-day tour...bah...

So besides that, here's my good news/bad news:

Good News: I got a 100 on my World History exam, a rarity because of how vague my teacher's test questions are usually...

Bad News: You guessed it! More debating in english...AND my teacher (an ex-hippie) had us listen to a song that she likes that's pretty darned offensive...she's getting so caught up in her daily debating and controversy -_- ...

My school day:
In English, we had a substitute teacher for the second day in a row, and we talked about "Much Ado About Nothing", and watched part of the movie. We are in Act 3 right now. In Band, we played like usual. My middle school band teacher came to visit though, and many kids were saying hi to her. In Math, we handed in our homework, went over it, and we have a test tomarrow. In History, we watched part of another war movie. This one was called "Toro! Toro! Toro!" or something like that. I can't remember the spelling. :P It was about Pearl Harbor, and there was japanese talking too. The subtitles were hard to read when they were small, white letters on a white background. o_O In Art, we worked on painting. In Biology, we talked about bones and homework. We have to keep a daily log of these two peregrine falcons that live in our city that have a nest on a building. Yesterday, a kid in my class put a minnow in his mouth. O_O

Yeah teachers suck.
In class it was funny i said WAZZUP!
and this kid goes WAZZUP!
Then I said WAZZUP!
And then Everyone was saying WAZZUP!
That is why I will try to post that alot.
WAZZUP!

I skipped school today :P ...there was no way I was going on that all-day career center tour. I would have been bored out of my mind before lunch began probably -.-

LOL, I know what you mean. Whenever we have a field tripp that is boring (which is almost always) I just stay home. :p I stayed home the day that we had this weird Gr 9 thing near the beginning of the year, where we went to the park to get to know eachother.

Today we had more CAPT testing. It was so boring. Response to Lit. and Reading for information. They are easy and all but really boring.

Once again CAPT has managed to confuse everyone! I guess we follow the schedule they gave us except a Monday schedule for gym, study halls, and lunch periods. It's messed up! So, I went to my Monday study hall like I did yesterday. He didn't call my name for attendance. I just kinda ignored that until one of the other girls asked if we were supposed to be there. He said he had no idea! That was just great. So he sent the two of us to see if we were supposed to be in our Monday study halls or Wednesday ones. Of course mine are on opposite ends of the school! My Monday studay hall is down in the random tech ed wing at the edge of the school on the 1st floor. My Wednesday study hall is on the opposite end of the school on the 5th floor! By the time I got to my Wed. study hall I was out of breath. Literally! Then I find out that I was SUPPOSED to be in my MONDAY study hall. So I then had to go back down to the first floor and tell him that we have Mon. study halls all week. That was my exercise for today!

Perhaps the PT from CAPT stands for practice test? :P
*sigh* My school day is always boring.
The only good period was Phys. Ed.
The gym was afilled with awes and cheers whenever I shoot in basketball.
That's my kind of period. XD

Well.. Today I got a packet to join HoustonPrep, which is an intensive pre-college enrichment program during the summer to work on science, engineering, and mathematics. So, I'm really happy that I qualify for it.
The bad thing is that it takes away most of my summer :'(
