At my school, we've dissected worms and frogs, not too bad =/
that's horrible. disecting cats is worse than pigs. i don't like seeing dead animals either. last year there was a dead cat on the side of the road where i used to walk home from school. it was there for a few days and nobody picked it up. gross. my mom had to call the town a couple times to tell them it was still there. i purposely walked home a different way those days.Teara said:Disecting cats? Oh my! I could never do that, I would probably faint from the sight of a dead cat that I had to cut opean. I get upset enough when I see them on the road. My stomache is starting to hurt just thinking about it.
don't be afraid of high school... it's not that bad. at first it's a little strange but you get used to it really easily.Teara said:Congratulations 100Marios. We have a half day tommarow. And then later in the week the counciler from the high school is coming so we can choose our classes. I don't know how much I want to go to high school...I'd get nervious in my first year with so many students there that are older than me.
That was a really good idea Sheridan! That was some good thinking! I'm glad she gave you the class, it would've seemed a little unfair if she didn't. Go Sheridan! Hehe.....Hikaru's Twin said:My post is going to drift away from the few on this page (it's still school related though, of course) but i'm just so happy with the results of what i did that i wanted to share it. ^_^
Well last Wednesday i went up to my History teacher, Mrs. Christie, at the end of class and asked her if i would be able to take "Higher History" for next year; she said that she'd have a word with the other History staff to see if i'd be able to take it as she'd only been teaching me for less than a year and then she'd get back to me at Lunch.
My friends and i use her room at Lunch because she so kindly lets us ^_^ so it was obvious that she knew where to get me in order to give me my answer, but the thing is she didn't even turn up and i was a little disappointed. So the next morning i caught her on the stairs and asked her if she'd enquired about my question. She said she had and that the rest of the staff were worried about me taking the subject at a higher level because it was "such a big step up" and that i should just look elsewhere. It was so horrible hearing that from her though, i really needed that subject because i want to teach History when i leave school....and...well....i really, really wanted to cry at that moment but i managed to stop myself and just gave her a small smile, saying "Thanks" then she headed upstairs and that was that.
I knew there was no way i was giving up though, i practically put my life on the line for that subject not to mention the teacher....besides i desperately needed it career wise.
So, i sat up until 11:30 on Monday night and wrote her a letter (well typed it...) basically i just explained why i needed the subject, how i felt about not being able to take it and a lot of other things. (i'd love to show you guys the letter, but i think it'd be too long to post up here, unless i posted it as an attachment or something....but i doubt anyone would want to see it anyway...)
Yesterday i gave the letter to her, explaining that i felt it would be easier to tell her how i felt in writing, rather than in spoken words. She read it while i just stood next to her feeling really nervous and like a complete idiot. When she'd finished reading it, she apologised for not seeing me at Lunchtime when she should have and for giving me my answer like that on the stairs, which i thought was really sweet of her. But she then told me that she'd still have to talk to the other staff about it and asked when i needed an answer by. I said anytime was fine and she found me at Lunch on the same day and told me that even though the rest of the History staff and herself were still a little worried, they'd now decided to let me take History!
I was so happy then, amazing the difference one little letter can make!
Anyways, that's what i wanted to share, apologies if i completely bored anyone to death!
