I've seen several posts in the ORAS section about people not liking Scott, the character who invites you to the Battle Frontier, from Pokemon Emerald. What's your opinion on this guy, and if you hate him why do you? I'm just curious because I never had any problem with him and was surprised to read that people disliked him enough to wish he wouldn't return.

Well I did like the fact Scott suddenly turned up in Emerald and due to the fact he is the one who introduces you to the Battle Frontier :3
He could be annoying at times though, just chatting along (way too long at times imo) and sometimes he showed up unexpected at times when I was in a hurry .__.

But nonetheless, I do hope he does make a return in ORAS, because I did like his character in the games (and ofcourse, along with Scott that the Battle Frontier may return too). ;)

If you've watched Marriland's Emerald Nuzlocke, you probably know that he and a big majority of his viewers hate this guy's guts.

But in all reality, he does call at what feels like the weirdest times, and throughout most of the game he just feels like filler until you get to the Battle Frontier. So yeah.

He might be Filler and could get annoying at times but I've never disliked him and hope he returns!

Personally I loved him, Emerald was my first pokémon game and I had no idea what I was doing (mostly I was confused how Pikachu and Ash hadn't appeared yet, although that was partially because when I wrote my letter to Santa I thought FrLg were the newest games). So when you're about to leave the second city after being rejected from a gym challenge (I thought it was because I had bad nicknames :P) this guy turns up, initially suggesting you could be an incredible trainer, then putting you down again? That gave me a momentary ego boost and then motivation to prove him wrong.

By the end, in Battle Frontier he's just a cool guy who happened to have created that tournament one (Battle Dome, I think?) which is still my favourite location in all of pokémon - like if they bring that version of Frontier back in the remakes then I'll go out and buy a 3DS and a copy purely for that reason.

I was just very neutral on him. He was a guy, who was there, that didn't do much anything else passed traveling around, and then turning out to be the founder/owner of the Battle Frontier.

I've never disliked him. In fact, it's quite the contrary--I've enjoyed seeing him around. Scott doesn't do much things, but he's still there adding onto events, which is some form of contribution. By me, that's definitely appreciated.

I didn't really have an opinion on him back then. He was pretty cool in the anime, but that's about it. I don't see why don't people like him, though, he does quite a lot in the games despite the fact that it seems to be like he's just there.

I honestly don't hate or like him. He is just there to introduce you to Battle Frontier.

I do hate how in the anime they made him really fat with a weird voice.

I'd always thought someone like Steven Stone could play his entire role pretty well.

Scott really doesn't have much character, he's more of just an annoyance until he presents the Battle Frontier.

Exactly how I feel. Is there anything in the games about him that could even bring one to hate him? He barely does a thing of significance.

Scott's a pretty cool dude. I was hoping he would be in ORAS. I liked his character, but I wish he had more to do with the games. I would like to have battled him :3

I found Scott absolutely hilarious (watching Marriland's Emerald Nuzlocke took the humour to a new level) and how he always seems to stalk you is just unbelievable. I was kinda sad he never came back in OR/AS, to be honest.
