What series do you wanna get into? Will you start from the beginning, just get the games for the consoles you own, or just get the recent games?

I'd really like to give Shin Megami Tensai a shot, considering how much I enjoyed Persona 5 (and the Persona 4 animé). I just don't know where to start though, and looking for information proves more confusing than helpful. Maybe someday though!

I also REALLY want to play the older Persona games (namely 4 Golden and 3), but I lack the proper consoles. Hopefully, they'll get re-released at some point soonish.

Otherwise, I don't really know what other series' I'd want to give a shot in 2018 at this point. I'm sure something will come up at a later point though!

Both Persona and SMT are series I'd like to try out :o I haven't seen much SMT gameplay but I've seen a lot of persona and it looks fun.

I HIGHLY recommend giving Persona a shot, especially since 5 is pretty easy to find and can be played on both the PS3 and the PS4. I won't keep hyping it up, but it's really worth trying it out! (And despite being the fifth title, you don't need to play or know much about the previous Persona games to follow along)

It's not a specific series, but I'd like to play more games in the vein of Persona and Story of Seasons/Stardew. Two very different styles, but both have my attention at the current moment.

The Elder Scrolls series. I have Oblivion and Skyrim, but I can only play for a couple days before losing the urge to go back.

Also Fire Emblem. I don't own any of the games but I'd like to give it a chance one day.

Too many! A few off the top of my head, I played Persona 3 and really liked it - never got around to finishing it but like a few of you the Persona series is definitely one I also want to get into. I should get into FE too, Austin (user:curelixir) actually mailed me some of his old FE games and I really really should start playing those, lol.

Metal Gear Solid is one I kind of want to get into because it seems to have an interesting story, but being a stealth game and all makes me a little apprehensive; I'm not bad at stealth but I don't know if I really enjoy stealth games since they make me anxious and all and I don't know if that's really "fun" for me.

The problem with the SMT series is that if you're expecting the other games to be similar to the Persona games, you'll probably end up being disappointed. The mainline games in particular have a more restrained approach to narrative as it's very gameplay-first. You can go hours without any cutscenes. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

As for me, probably the Etrian Odyssey series. I've been meaning to try one of the games for a long time now, but dungeon crawlers have never been my thing. Also, the Legend of Heroes series is another one. Particularly, the Trails in the Sky and Cold Steel games. Everybody sings their praises about how great the story and characters are. I still have memories of playing the generic Legend of Heroes games early on in the PSP's lifespan, which is why I probably haven't had much interest in playing the current games.

TES and FE (not sure about the older ones) are definitely series I would recommend, although TES kinda depends. If you're looking for good story, then Morrowind is probably the best. For gameplay, Oblivion/Skyrim are better.
MGS looks really fun, I actually like stealth games quite a bit + story = I'll probably enjoy it.
Etrian Odyssey and LoH are both series I wanna get into (too many ;_;) And I'll keep that in mind about SMT.

Atelier since the series looks so darn adorable. Exactly the type of colors and character designs I'd like. I've got a PS Vita sitting around, but still so many other games in general to finish!

Also, the Tales series. The Tales fans I've gotten to know are very cool people and the series itself really looks like something I'd heavily get into.

One of the top of my head would be the Dune series, I never got to play them despite it being an RTS game and I regret not buying it when it was out.

After watching some stuff about it I just want to play it even more.
