1350 Route 116 encounters
There's also a prize for anyone who completes the whole Yearly Quest! If you manage to complete all of the possible teams, including the exclusive Seasonal ones, you get to put this exclusive, official SHC banner in your sig!!

But "lol" this Yearly Quest isn't really meant to be "completed" so much as a guide for shiny hunters to race and see who can complete the most teams! It can be a fun personal challenge to see how many teams you can complete, and we could see who has the coolest ones and stuff!
I might go for the GenIII team first. Since I already have had Emerald running for months to shake up the RNG, I might as well keep hunting on cool Hoenn routes after I get shiny Nincada. I don't have any shinies from the Gulpin route, the infamous "Seviper patch," or the Spoink route, and all of those places are loaded with awesome shinies. I'd like to do a mini Hoenn tour after Nincada and see if I can do a few encounters in each one of those routes until I get some sweet shinies.
We all know that I'm actually going to get six shiny Taillow instead. ;)
Good luck!! You can do it!!
Good questions!
Good luck! Any ideas on what you'll be hunting to start out?

Ok right now I am bored out of my mind soft resetting for a shiny Chimchar. Currently around 80 something soft resets.
Good luck!! You can do it!!
You're welcome, and happy new year!
You really made the quest this year impossible to complete lol! Hopefully I can at least put in a solid showing....
Anyway, couple of questions:
- Can you use the same Pokemon for both a Seasonal team, the 2016 challenge, and the yearly challenge? Or is it 1 only?
- Does the Cyn = C Q or T rule apply to the seasonal teams?
- If, say Eevee doesn't count for a team but, say, Espeon does because it is green, do you have to evolve it to count? Or can you just leave it as an Eevee?
Good questions!
- Nope, each shiny can only count for one thing. You can change what it counts for as the year goes on (except for putting something in or out of a Seasonal one after that season ends) as much as you want. For example, if you have five GenIII shinies and Nincada you might want to count Nincada as GenIII to make a GenIII team, but if you catch a different GenIII shiny later on and then get five Ground-type shinies, you can switch Nincada over to make a Ground team and count that other Pokemon for your GenIII team.
- Yes, absolutely!
- No, you don't have to actually evolve it in your game. But you do have to declare it as one Pokemon if it has multiple possibilities. Like with Eevee, you can't count it as both J and V, but you could pick one of those letters, even if you don't actually evolve it into that in your game. You can change the evolution you're counting it for as long as it stays unevolved, but once you evolve it, you've permanently declared whatever that evolution counts for (or its preevolution, but you can no longer count it for other possible evolutions).
Happy 2016!
I'm gonna do my best to complete the Yearly Quest! I'll probably aim for the parallel one, at least at first.
Good luck! Any ideas on what you'll be hunting to start out?
