Do tv shows, movies, books or songs ever make you cry?
I was rewatching The Godfather 2 last night, and my eyes grew misty when Frankie Five Angels and Tom met near the end, i.e the When a plot against the emperor failed exchange. I tried to be tough and blink back the tears, but couldn't keep my eyes completely dry.
Normally it takes real events to make me cry, but now and then creative content can do it, when those characters seem so alive their suffering hits like it's something that really happened, maybe aided by great acting or writing.
Earlier this year I also read this beautiful short called Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu, and when the letter from Jack's mother was read to him I just sobbed like a baby.
What about you, do you always keep your composure, or is there some e/m that will break you? If yes, share!
