I remember running around Mt Silver following a tutorial. I was one step away from the stairs leading me into the mountain from the outside (It's covered by tall grass). Just at the last moment, I'm attacked by a wild Golbat. Either I'm just unlucky, or Nintendo built in some brainreader thing to make Pokemon appear when you least want it.

Any of you experienced something like this? :P Sorry if there's a thread like this already, I couldn't find one.

You're just unlucky. Sometimes when I'm about to save or do something with my Pokemon, a wild Pokemon appears, and that's annoying.

Happens to me sometimes. Usually when I'm near the exit of a cave, with the "frontline" Pokemon on the brink of fainting (a.k.a. their HP's color red). Then an annoying wild Pokemon comes out. I just choose to run away when that happens. =D

Not with wild Pokemon appearing, but I've had a number of critical hits when I'm trying to wound Pokemon so I can capture them, and they get KO'd. :|

Trying to capture a wild Pokémon in a double battle (i.e. when you have someone accompanying you) is a pain in the posterior. It happened to me often in Platinum. For one thing, you must whittle it down to one wild Pokémon in order to throw a PokéBall, because the game claims that having both present affects your aim (what). Then there's the more irritating factor that your partner keeps fainting the Pokémon you're trying to catch. Often they use a host of weak moves so it actually seems as if they are trying to help you catch it. Then, just before you can toss a PokéBall, they pull out their most powerful attack. KO.

This belongs in General Pokémon Gaming so I'll go ahead and toss it over.

For me, it has to be critical hits. It's not that I KO Pokemon that I'm trying to catch, but when I get a critical when a non-critical hit would've easily KO'd the Pokemon. Seriously, in the past few days, this has happened soooo much. DX I'd rather get the crits when I need them.

    Oh god yes.

I get it even worse in trainer battles, particularly gym leaders.

For example, Bugsy's Scyther U-Turned, so it's still there. I'll need a crit before it 2HKOs me, but instead, I get a crit against his Kakuna, which had 1hp left anyway.

I have beaten all of you. I once started a new game on Crystal and I saw a shiny Sentret on the very first route before I was able to buy any pokeballs.

I hate getting crits when the opposing 'mon is has a millimeter of health left. =/

I know what you all mean, its so annoying :(

I remember once when I was training my eevee to like me and it only had one hp left and I wanted to get to the pokemon centre which was quite close but I had to walk through some grass and then some random Raticate appears and I can't escape and it beat my eevee :(

On Emerald the Zigzagoon you fight when you choose your starter was a Shiny. >.> I stopped playing Hoenn for 2 months after that

Yeah the opposite of what you want always happen, when you really want to meet a wild pokemon it takes ages, when you dont want it happens immidiatly.

I have had pokemon appearing when I don't want them to appear, but I never died because of it since my pokemon are usually over leveled. I did get a lot of critical hits when trying to catch a pokemon though.

On HG, once I sold all my ultraballs (99) to get money to buy a lot of Proteins, Zinc, and that kind of stuff. I bought it on Goldenrod, and the guy from Day-Care called me. When I went running to pick the egg, a Entei just appeared in the wild grass. I was like "No, no..."

But at least, I caught it later.
