So what keeps you into the series?

Hard to say. I just really enjoy playing Pokemon and that is the only part of Pokemon I partake in anymore. Even though I'm not happy with the newest games I still have the older games which I replay from time to time.
 
This may sound probably really weird but my obsession come and go in cycles. During a Pokémon cycle I fantasize about which 6 Pokémon I'd take on an adventure.
I have a strange need to make top lists in general so I spend browsing through the Pokédex, combining Pokémon in my head. I also buy a game each 4 years or so.

I also started reading the mange for the very first time.
 
i like the cute creatures, and the games aren't that bad enough for me put them down yet. and i like shiny hunting, so there's that.
 
I just realized how much GO helps to keep me addicted to the series. I used to play the main series games and restart them for hundreds of hours on end, but nowadays it's a lot easier to pop into GO and catch a few mons quickly from my phone. Hadn't realized how much it contributed to my ongoing Pokémon addiction.. haha. @_@
 
Honestly, the hope that the games will eventually get to a more advanced point. As in, I am still hoping for those features and spinoffs everyone wants. Especially a mmorpg, which we can only hope for...
 
i just like raising new teams and seeing what cool new critters there will be. in my lowest points in life, something that seriously kept me going was knowing i would miss out on new pokemon. so it seems little in the large scheme of things, but it's big to me.

Pretty much sums it up for me.
And I can relate to Sandman's 'Pokémon cycle" too. At times I'm out of touch with the series, the other moment I'm making a team.

Well I couldn't have said it better myself. My childhood was filled with Pokémon. I met my irl best bud due to pokémon and much more. So can't just abandon it.
 
Well when a new game comes out, I get it and play it. Plus I have more than one console, so I can fight against myself and help my main profile to collect all the pokemon. But with pokemon sword n shield which imo is the worst pokemon game, and that game is very hard for me to stay interests in it. The game is just not exciting as all the other games and more reasons that I won't explain since that will be off-topic. But yeah I really don't know why or how I'm still into playing the games, but when I finished them I don't continue on that profile.
 
Nothing other than the notion that Pokemon is something I've liked for most of my life, and it will stay that way. I really like seeing new content and games release for it, even if I sometimes don't watch or play them, I enjoy that it's still going on. It's always neat to explore new regions!
 
Simply because it is what I love. There are times when I feel like my pets look like Pokemon. I have Whatsapp GB group and we are talking about pokemon
