Spice Tolerance

YES SAMYANG IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!

this is what I was talking about when I said I have a decent spice tolerance. I haven't tried the purple kind but I just loaded up on the 2x Spicy, Curry, and Carbonara. Easily some of the best, and hottest, ramen put there.

Even bought that trio back of just the sauces and now the hubby and I put them on EVERYTHING.

I'm telling you, this is some shit you need to respect before you eat.

The one in red package is spicier than the one in purple (though I don't see much of it in Korean stores). The one in pink is my favorite because the spiciness is just right. 🙂

But you shouldn't really eat any of those when you are supposed to be out for so long. 😂 (If you know what I mean)

Tell me about it -- these sauces are legally purchasable packets of LAVA. They say the Scoville heat unit on the packaging is about 8000 for the hottest, but that's complete and utter bullshit.

A hot Jalapeno can be 8000 on the high end and I can eat those like hand fruit. Samyang sauces are easily in 500,000 SHU level. I haven't even tried the red bottled sauce because I'm honestly convinced it's just pure Capsaicin extract and that is straight scary. But hey, my curiosity will get the better of me eventually, I'll let you know how it goes if I survive lmao.

Oh trust me, I know. But I must have guts of steel or something, because I've never had a gastrointestinal reaction to super spicy, greasy, or fast foods the way people describe! Don't know what I can contribute it to, but I figure it will catch up with me some day lmao. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts! >:D

Wow, you probably do not have capsaicin receptors? 😂 Even when I eat pink Samyang (which is the mildest), I have to go to the restroom after an hour. 😂

mine is absolutely horrid, if mum says that dinner has even a tiny bit of kick to it i have to grab a cup of milk lol

which is odd because one time in high school a friend brought ghost pepper chips and let us all try one
i remember some kids were crying over how spicy it was so i tried one, shrugged and sat back down at my lunch table
i then proceeded to consume my yogurt at lightning speed

I have acid reflux, so... not very high. Even hours after eating something spicy, I can still feel the after effects. Even paprika hurts my throat.

OMG I'm so sorry for interrupting this thread but I didn't die eating a half-spice-sauced wing! It was delicious!!!! Refer to my earlier post for my excitement. :D

Not interrupting!! This is completely relevant to the topic. Keep it up and you'll be able to build a tolerance. :)

I'm not the best with spicy things, but I refuse to drink milk in an attempt to "tough it out". One time we made dirty rice with cayenne or Cajun seasoning or something and I started crying because I couldn't handle it... not my proudest moment...

I'm a supertaster, and spiciness is the WORST! There's many foods where my mom and sister can't really taste any spiciness, while it really burns me. Spiciest thing I'll ever eat is medium salsa, and even that's a little much, though it does taste really good. Spiciest thing I've ever eaten was a little jalapeño pepper and I immediately went through 2 bottles of water before realizing water doesn't help.
