support circles

how strong are yours? what do they help you with?

Between Chura, my family, the few offline friends I've managed to keep in touch with and the wealth of online friends I have thanks to PC, I'm fortunate enough to have a really strong and vast support network. For most of these people, the help mostly just stems from helping keep me centred and connected and stuff. Those I'm closer with help me handle the extremes of my various mental and physical illnesses/disorders and the stresses in my life. I'm very lucky for the people I have in my life even if other circumstances are far from ideal.

I have two close friends that do very well to support me just as I support them. I used to be more reliant on the internet but in the past people have used the information I confided in them against me so I don't intend to keep doing that. My two friends are enough for now.

it's been my husband ever since i met him in 2016. everyone else… well, i have friends. but my spouse and i only share true confidance and trust with each other.

My other half.

She has been with me though some astonishing things both good and bad. I was in a really awful place when I met her a lifetime ago, but she fixed me and made me what I am today. She is my soulmate and more importantly she is my best friend.

My nieces.

They are a huge part of my life, and they have helped me through some really big and tough moments over the years. Without their love and support I wouldn't have had the courage to make some really important life changing decisions.

My family.

My birth "family" were really horrible people that caused me a lot of harm and suffering. My partner's family is now my real family, and they're wonderful.

My therapist.

After many bad ones, I finally found a therapist that was able to point me in the right direction. I no longer see her but our years of working together really changed my life.

My protector.

I suffer from PTSD due to some very intense past trauma. During my therapy, Rapunzel became my "protective figure" and she's been looking after me ever since.
