    Mmm, Sweet Honey!

In various cities/towns and routes, there are trees known as "Honey Trees" within the Sinnoh region. With the item honey (obviously) you are able to slather it to the bark of the trees and wait for a wild Pokémon to appear from them. You'll know when a honey tree has a Pokémon inside when it is shaking, but if you wait too long they will steal the honey and run home! ;; You can also slather more than one honey onto the tree, which (if I remember correctly) allows you a better chance of getting a rare Pokémon.
→ What are your thoughts on the honey trees?
→ What's your latest catch from the honey trees - which ones would you like to obtain?
→ How much honey do you have in your bag?
    Etc.

    Discuss!

I ended up having... a fair bit of unused honey as I decided to migrate over a few of the Pokemon from my games (yay for Aipom from Colosseum and so forth) because after trying it out a few times...I can't say the method really interested me. The need to wait for the chance to get a rare Pokemon only to end up with another male combee (and yet I couldn't wait 'too long' or there went my honey!) wasn't the greatest method imo. It wasn't a bad idea I suppose but for me it didn't work out too well in practice. Certainly I felt that Headbutt trees were a better method.

What are your thoughts on honey trees?: They were a neat addition, they make it easy for me to nab certain Pokemon. I hate how I have to wait half a day for one to come.

    Latest catch?: Um...Aipom?

How much honey do you have in your bag?: Around 5, I guess.

I love the honey trees, it's a great way to obtain unique Pokemon. I usually have 20+ Sweet Honeys in my bag, when I'm hunting for certain Pokemon. During my quest to find a Munchlax, I encountered and caught every honey tree Pokemon...except for Munchlax. It's harder to find than Feebas if you don't know your Secret ID, which I didn't.

I used them to catch what I needed for the Pokedex (and also to find a female Combee so I could have a contest-winning Vespiquen) but I haven't bothered with them since. My latest catch probably would have been that female Combee.

It's a neat idea, now if only Wurmple weren't so common on those trees...

I liked them at first but then found them to be a pain due to never getting the right Pokemon or waiting too long to check the tree and having the honey wasted.

What's your latest catch from the honey trees - which ones would you like to obtain?
My last catch was a Munchlax and then finally got a female Combee

How much honey do you have in your bag?
I buy them as I need them so only one.

I find the honey trees tiring. Especially since I still need a Munchlax.

My latest catch could've been anything; it's been a while since I honeyed the trees.

I buy most items in bulk, so I have around 50 honeys.

BTW, what is a secret ID and how do you find out what it is?

I loathe the honey trees. I'm not a very patient person, so the having to wait bit is very tiring for me. Also, I hate flying back and fourth and aren't going to turn my game off for several hours just to wait for a Pokemon to appear on the tree. The idea was neat, I suppose, but in practice... it's just tedious. Most of the time I only find Wurmples or Burmy's, anyway. If I actually found rare Pokemon on the trees, maybe I'd like it better.

My most recent catch was on my last file before my UMC file and was a Burmy. (Of course... lol) And usually, I have almost every honey the man in Floarama gives you for free stuffed in my bag... with maybe two missing.

    Whenever I slather some Honey on a honey tree, I tend to forget about it for a while. XD;

I usually don't carry Honey with me. I just go to the guy when I need some. After getting the Macho Brace, I kinda stopped using the honey tree as a way to obtain Pokemons.

I don't really use honey trees that much but decided to give it a shot recently. It's a nice way to obtain other pokemon, but I really don't like having to watch for 6/so hours, especially since I'm prone to forgetting things. I've been catching Burmy's, but thanks to the tip up there, I may have a chance of catching the others.

    ^ this. :ccc

I've always been a really forgetful guy and honestly whenever I used the honey trees I always forgot shortly afterwards that I had, in fact, used them. Aaaaand then when I came back those stupid bugs ate all mah honey. I think I'd like it more if the "oh you forgot about me" aspect were more... forgiving, but at this point in time it's not forgiving at all. >:O

FINE THEN HONEY TREE I JUST WON'T USE YOU -grumble grumble-

I used to use Honey Trees, but I stopped. I obtained Combee, Cherubi and Burmy, Hearacross, Aipom and Wumple from them...all except Munchlax...which I know I can't obtain.

Honey trees are the greatest things ever.

What's your latest catch from the honey trees - which ones would you like to obtain?
    A Cherubi~! ^^ And I'd love to have an Munchlax. :3

How much honey do you have in your bag?
    A LOTTTTT

Honey Trees are cool, I just never really use them. The last Pokemon I caught from a tree was an Aipom I believe.

I like honey trees, they give me something to do...

Latest catch? I have no clue, I haven't used a honey tree in such a long time...the last thing I remember catching on a tree was my shiny cherubi....

...while I was looking for a munchlax, which I still don't have and would like to get.

I have like 50 honeys in my bag

Well, they normally work well for me. However my current run in Platinum has yielded 5 Wurmple.

I like the method, it's fun. But Headbutt is equally good. I usually carry around 10 Honey for if I stop near a tree overnight, yet currently I have none.

So yeah, my latest catch if Wurmple, but last time I played Diamond, I caught Cherubi, male and female Combee, Burmy, Aipom and even Munchlax. In only 6 uses. So overall, I think I still like this method.

My main aim was to catch a Munchlax, but so far, I haven't had any luck. Patience is a virtue, right? but they're still a pain >__<
