~!*sweet sixteen*!~

so much more to life
~!sweet sixteen*!~

Birthdays are the one day when the day is all about you, or at least you think that it's all about you. They're a celebration of your birth, a celebration of you coming into this world. Well, thats the cover story at least, you want to get lots of presents as well!
When it's your birthday, how do you celebrate? Do you have a big party or just a little get together? Also, if you've had your sixteenth birthday, did you have a big celebration (if you haven't had your ~!*sweet sixteenth*!~, how would you ideally celebrate it)?

I don't do parties because on my birthday, ideally I like to only hang out with the people I care about most and not be forced into social situations that I'm not a huge fan of, haha. So I usually just hang out with my friends or family as normal. I don't even think I had a party for my 16th; it's just not my thing. Plus so much attention on me is really awkward so I'd rather just get a 'happy birthday' or two from my closest friends and that's it. I feel even more awkward when random people wish me a happy birthday, lol.

I usually invite a few of my friends over for a round of gaming and we go out to get some new games and a bite to eat later in the day. By the end of the day I eat a "magic" muffin and play something like FEAR while I'm tripping balls. That's what I tend to do for my birthdays nowadays.

I just have a small get together with my family. Nothing fancy. Though for the past two years, I've had band camp on my actual birthday. lol So I've celebrated in the sun twice. For my 16th, I just...had a family get together, lol. And my two best friends (at the time) came over, which for me is a big deal cause I never have friends at my house. I got a laptop instead of a car. :D

I think my best birthday was my 17th, though. My significant other threw me a surprise party. :) Sure, they cheated on me that day also, but it was a great party!

That... is awful. :(

I don't really like to celebrate my birthday. Never have. I can't even remember what I did on my "sweet sixteenth" but it probably was either nothing special or some sort of let down on account of getting all exciting by some plans that ended up not happening or something. Nowadays I don't even tell new friends when my birthday is just so I can avoid the awkwardness.

For the last few years, I've had exams either on or around my birthday, so they haven't always been the most fun times in the world... but I still try and make the most out of them. Normally I'll go out for a nice meal with either friends or family, but that'll usually be it.

When I was younger, I wasn't a big fan of birthday parties for some reason, and I guess that attitude has carried forward with me into adulthood, as the idea of throwing some big celebration seems more like hard work than a joyous experience. Indeed, for my 19th birthday, a friend of mine got some friends and I free access into a club - which was nice - but I did absolutely none of the work in that regard. If I'd had to have done something, it would have ended up being a lot less professional than it ended up being.

I don't do anything, never have. Last time I had a celebration was for my 5th birthday.

I was working on my 16th... lmao.

Ideally if I were to do something it would just be an average night out anyway so nothing special anyway.

It's always all about me. Every day is. My Birthday is no exception!

Not that I really do much on it, I tend to go out for dinner with my family on my actually Birthday then I have a small gathering with friends and we do stuff, but otherwise I don't do much on birthdays.

This year is... Going to be different... But yeah!

For my sixteenth birthday I'd absolutely love a huge party with stuff but I don't really know what. Just a party'll do. It'll never happen though~

my sister was pregent around the time of my 16th and everyone forgot about my B'day the family only seem to celebrate the kids of the familys B'days as they think only they should get one.

Last party I ever had was my 7th one

My birthday is in two days. :D November 19th.

Well, I usually don't go for the huge birthday parties & stuff. All I wanna do is be with my family & friends, because they were a huge part of my life.

My sixteenth birthday wasn't all big. lol I was attending school in Mexico, and the my classmates and my Legal Studies professor ordered pizza and bought me a chocolate cake. It was just amazing. <3 It wasn't my typical sweet sixteen birthday bash, but at least it was awesome!

I usually go bowling for my bday, I have been doing so for years. XD It's just basically 2-3 family members and we just have two games of bowling and go home, so it's sorta my tradition! Either way, for 16th, afaik I did nothing, and generally my best bday was 19th probably because I was less annoyed at everyone else that day (unlike another one!) and I can't remember more than three before that, lol. :x

I hardly do anything special on my birthdays. I've never had a party before, ever... I don't think. If I did I was really little and don't remember it anymore.

My parents would take me out for dinner when I was still living with them, and I was lucky enough that I was up with them on my birthday this year, so they did so again. :D If I'm not up there next year I will probably just spend my next birthday all alone. *shrugs*

Didn't do anything special for my 16th at all, either. Just another birthday for me.

In my family, we have birthday parties for the people who are 7 or less years old. For the people who are over 7, we go out and eat at a restaurant of their choice.

Oh, a small get-together. ALWAYS small. I had a party for my 6th, 10th, 12th and 18th birthdays, and even then I think the biggest was my 6th which was about 20 people. I really cannot stand those large parties because it's awkward socially (especially when mingling different friend groups) and also I just really cannot stand being the centre of attention.

I turned 21 last month and I went out to dinner with like 8 or 9 of my friends, and that was my entire celebration. But I wouldn't even let them sing Happy Birthday to me, because there is nothing more uncomfortable than being sung to. Nothing.

I have only had one birthday party, when I was like, 3, and I like it that way. xD I don't usually lie being the center of attention, since I am super awkward, socially speaking. :\ About the most I like to do is maybe eat something I don't get often for dinner. My grandparents also like to try and have us over for dinner, but that hasn't happened in ages. xD

And none of my birthdays really stand out to me, except my 17th, which was in the summer my grandfather died. Two days after my birthday. :< BUT, I try to look positively on that, since that was the summer California had super bad wildfires with smoke obscuring the sky for weeks. The day my grandfather died was the ONLY clear day we had all month. I swear that was kinda like my grandfather giving us a parting gift, and maybe even a birthday gift to me and my aunt. :3

I don't usually party on my birthday :'D It's usually small, ~ 15 ppl gatherings lol. This year, I went ice skating and then shopping and then we watched a movie and then we had a sleepover party which doesn't really count as a party does it? :'D idek

Never had a huge party before, and I would never want one. I'm used with simple gatherings only, with the people who are important and special to me around. After celebrating at our house, we usually go out and have fun somewhere around the city, watching movies and stuff, and just having fun, really.. ^^

I think my best birthday party was when we're celebrating my seventh birthday party. All of my best friends were present alongside my cousins too! I was very close with all of them, and we did a lot of things during that day. Although, never happened before since my cousins went to the US, and some of my best friends went to other places too. :( .. Oh well.

16? What's so special about that number? Well, my 16th year was one of my best in life so far, but could I have expected that earlier? I don't think so.

As for my birthdays, I usually keep the parties (just using that word in lack of a better alternative) nice and small, usually it's the same 6 people (including myself) that are invited. If I try to change something, it will always go horribly wrong, my 18th was like that (I managed to get everything into its usual state last minute though).

I don't celebrate birthdays btw, I just invite my friends to forget the fact that I grew yet another year older. We still always have a great time, though.

My 16th birthday was mostly spent at school. Then we went to the DMV, naturally :) I believe we ate at a fast food place like McDonald's or Wendy's. Honestly, it was so long ago I don't remember exactly, lol

More recently I've been celebrating my birthday by going to the mall, eating a meal at a nice restaurant, then getting together with friends later. As my birthday is three days before Halloween, I usually ended up going to a Halloween party as well, where I've received an additional gift in the form of the costume contest prize :)

That was when I was in college... this past birthday was boring as hell, with dinner with the family and no Halloween party... blah...
