Take a Pokemon Character's name

Your real name is no longer your own, and you must have a name from the Pokemon Universe. What name do you take?

I'm going with Misty. I always thought it was a pretty name. I also will think not only of one the most iconic water Pokemon trainers and best traveling companions for Ash, but also Misty Copeland, a ballet dancer who is a hero to me.

What's your name?

Are we limited to main/important characters? Because, counting minor characters, I imagine that most of our names already exist within the Pokémon universe.

No, any name connected with Pokemon will do. It can be a major character, minor, they can be from the manga, tv show, games a spin-off. If it's a name you like, then go for it :)

I think I'll go with Xander in that case, assuming that isn't cheating since my name is Alexander (I go by Alex). I've named my character Xander in a few games (albeit not after the Pokémon character) and had been thinking about using it for my TrainerSona before I settled on Alex.

A couple other names that stuck out to me while browsing Pokémon character names were Ian and Zane, though I have trouble imagining my name as either (despite Zane being similar to Xander).

I can't help but feel like it's a basic answer but I've always loved the name Dawn. It's a really pretty name and uncommon enough that I've never met someone with the name, but won't be seen as strange by others, they wouldn't have trouble pronouncing it. That and I think the irony of being named Dawn and always sleeping in/being slow to wake up is wonderful.

Agree! it's so pretty ~

I think I'll take Lana. That is such a pretty sounding name. <3

I'm taking Natural Harmonia Gropius (N).

I don't even know the meaning, but it sounds like a fun name.
