Team Rocket ... Are In Alola?

Interesting how Game Freak has somehow managed to squeeze in Team Rocket. I don't mind this myself, really! Kinda curious what they would be doing in Alola, though. :o

This seems to be preety big. But I am only expecting them after the main storyline is completed, and maybe after you become a champion.

I agree, it's pretty awesome and probably means we'll get to explore the rest of the mansion too.

But as for Lusamine, the same leak says she "Takes a chill pill" which could mean any number of things. The interpretation I see a lot of people taking (myself included) is that Nihilego never corrupts her and never really goes insane. Other hints toward this would be Gladion referring to her as Mother still (called her The President in SM), even though we've gotten multiple glimpses at Ultra Space & other Ultra Beasts, we haven't seen Motherbeast or Nihilego come out of the wormhole at Aether. Only Lusamine laying over a seemingly incapacitated Guzma at the Altar warning someone to run from the monster.

Even anime Lusamine seems to be pretty chill so far, only showing signs of emotional neglect with Lillie due to her busy schedule. Faba on the other hand seems to have something up his sleeve, going so far as to hiring Team Rocket to Aether to help steal Nebby. The two might not be related at all but it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for the anime to take cues from the third version plot. Especially with Lillie being a trainer in the anime and the USUM poster later revealing this to be the case in the games.

That's true about Gladion, but why is he - and Lily for that matter - still wearing the same clothes that they did in SuMo? Unless she did go a bit crazy but manages to pull herself back in before she completely loses it, so Gladion still goes to work for Team Skull and Lillie steals Nebby etc.

I haven't been keeping up with the anime, but that's really interesting. I might have to now!

Teaching Guzma how you professionally run a gang of thugs for profit.

Mewtwo/mewthree/whatever vs Type: Null. Make it happen Game Freak. ^^
The idea of team rocket battling Mewtwo with Type:Null sounds fun because it would be very one-sided match, Mewtwo would easily win but that's also why it wouldn't be good in the games.

At least let us see team rocket go after Mewtwo for once in the games.
Mewtwo Returns was enough of that. Repeating the same plot in USUM would suck.

That recent interview with Famitsu has said that the script for USUM was twice as long as SM, and that the post-game was pretty lengthy. I'm thinking that the Ultra Recon Squad + Necrozma plot is for the main game, and this potential Rainbow Rocket plot is going to be a rather lengthy post-game, quite possibly more lengthy than the Delta Episode from ORAS.

I did some looking into the Rainbow Rocket "leak" because I didn't know what it was, but holy crap. That would be so awesome. It's like a classic comic book supervillain team-up but with Pokemon, which is really interesting. If the script is twice as long for these games like they say, it makes perfect sense. I can see Maxie being an Ultra Sun version-exclusive and Archie being being an Ultra Moon exclusive.

Loving it, we really need Team Rocket back, especially Giovanni.
True gangsters are the ones in suits, not those hooligans like Guzma.

Team Rocket better go after a legendary pokemon this time. RB was kind of acceptable since they were the first games. However, it was not acceptable that Team Rocket did not aim for a legendary in Yellow, GSC, FRLG & HGSS. There was no excuse for them to not target a legendary.

If Team Rocket pulls another "evil plan with no legendaries involved" then i am done with them and Kanto.

so you hated team skull?

I'm happy to see Team Rocket back, but I'm not expecting them getting much attention 'til the post-game sidequests, like Red and Blue, where you can access them only after completing the island challenge.

But it's team rocket so hype :D :D :DD

I don't mind Team Rocket returning as long as it will make sense. I myself see it as some post-game stuff, where we could even go to some parts of Kanto (If I remember, there was Vermilion Gym in one trailer). Despite not being fan of pushing Kanto everywhere, I would likte to see something like this.

I can see Red and Blue playing a much larger role in the post game ^^. Would be interesting to see what role Looker and Anabell might have.

Movie is not canon to games. I rather Tesm Rocket not be in USUM if they are not going after a legendary.

Nope. Team Skull is superior to Team Rocket because they were part of a better story and plot.

Which teams is your favorite (just asking in general. Anyone feel free to answer xD)?
For me it's Galactic.

Team Galactic is my favorite too. Cyrus and his plot to create a new world was brilliant. They actually caught the lake legendaries for a while unlike team rocket.

I can't say I'm keen on the idea of Team Rocket returning for multiple reasons. Firstly, there's already two evil teams in Alola, and although I think the sci fi recon UB team is related to Aether, they can still be considered a separate thing regardless, if they turn out to be major enough plot-wise. This region does not need a third (fourth?) evil team. Secondly, it would be... I dunno what the word is, a low blow? to incorporate Team Rocket as a major plot element when a character like Colress appears in SM with no significance whatsoever. I'd rather Team Rocket be here for a minor reference at most, the way the other older-gen characters were in SM.

team rocket returning is cool with me. but seems like a lot of teams for one game. four in one seems a little too many. hopefully there's not any plot holes. and team rocket gets a good part and fits in to the main story. and I wonder if the big boss is returning? maybe he is and with a big master plan.

Well, technically Skull is an unofficial arm of Aether. And the Recon squad might be that for an alternate version of Aether (from a world in which crazy Lusamine might've won and triggered (by accident?) Necrozma to wake up and snatch the light).

According to rumors, the rest of the Evil teams bosses will be making an appearance too... wonder who will appear for Plasma, N or Ghetsis, or both?

I hope that Rainbow Rocket turns out to be the result of a world in which Team Rocket being revived (Gen II/IV era) rather than as a result of them winning in Gen I/III. I mean, perhaps they went ahead and capture Ho-oh after Giovanni returned stronger and hence the name!
Maybe in such a world Silver wasn't against Team Rocket and actually helped them get in contact with his dad...

if not both I can see N returning due to being liked more over Ghetsis, but I cant really see only one returning
so more likely both.

that would be epic too see. maybe Giovanni could be the last big fight with higher level pokemon to show that he got stronger, if that rumor is true I can see this being a big game with lot of plot twists,

Regardless of what happens, something tells me we are getting a very different post-game quest than what we got with the UB quest and Looker. I bet you team up with Anabel, Looker, and Nanu to take down Team Rocket instead of hunting for the UB's, because it's looking like we'll be catching the UB's in their own dimension instead. They're obviously gonna make landfall in Alola during the main plot, but I'm wondering if they'll actually get transported back to their homes once the climax of the main story is over. Team Rocket showing up might even be an end result of Ultra Space getting screwed to hell and back from the climax.

I think I don't have to say how happy I'd be to see TR, right?

I actually came to say I like Team Rocket not chasing legendaries, like most teams. I suppose Team Flare didn't actually care for the Legendary itself either, though, they simply treated it as fuel, which is cool in its own way.

I do like the resolute straightforwardness of TR. While Giovanni itself kinda hides in shadows, they don't do mind games at all: whatever they want, they simply go and get it.
