What are some of your favorite memories from playing Pokemon? Mine was finally beating Red after weeks of getting owned.

I remember finally catching all of the Regis in R/S/E. I freaked out, after getting through all of that braille and those ridiculous catch rates.

    Hmm.
    Hmm..
    CATCHING A SHINY KRICKETUNE.
Shiny Delelelelele Whoooops are always fun.

Receiving my starter in Pokémon Blue was pretty interesting for me, but what was even more memorable is catching my first ever Pokémon. Think it was Pidgey, if I remember correctly. xD;;; Another of my favorite moment would be when I'd beaten Steven. Took ages for me to defeat him, and it felt great when I finally did!

    1. Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza scene in Sotopolis in Emerald.

    2. When I started Pokemon Sapphire, my first Pokemon game, for the first time.

    3. Catching Mew via legit glitch in Pokemon Yellow.

    4. Night scenes in Pokemon crystal.

    And a lot more :D

I have too many to name, but a lot of them come from my 2nd Gen days in particular. I had a group of 4 other friends who also got the game the same day I did, so we'd have link battles every time we met up to see how our teams were coming along. It was a generally fun time when Pokemon was still on fad status and you could find merch and other advertisements in just about every store. I still have my card collection, as a matter of fact. Anyways, another big one for me was finding a shiny Sneasel during one of our "meetups". I was grinding at Mt. Silver to battle Red and ran into it. I thought something was wrong because I didn't understand shinies yet and thought the Gyarados was a one-time deal. I ended up catching the Sneasel and using it in the final battle.

Mine is when I beat everything on emerald from completing the battle frontier with gold symbols to getting the Regis and mystery gifts

I remember, back on Yellow, the numb feeling I had after catching Mewtwo. It was the most difficult battle of my childhood, and after my Pidgeot and Vileplume fought fiercely to take it down and onto my team, I just sat there and stared at the screen. I had pretty much beaten the game in my childhood eyes and was at a loss on what I should do next.

Sapphire Version. So much in Sapphire Version.
    -Trying to find a Chimecho
    -Looking for the Golems
-Realizing that Trapinch evolved into Vibrava
    -Catching Kyogre
-Attempting to get the number of rocket launches in Mossdeep to 99 so I could go to space and catch Deoxys (Yeah, that rumor was heavily circulated throughout my elementary school)
-Finding Latias for the first time
-Evolving my Marshtomp into a Swampert
-Soloing the Elite Four with nothing but a Swampert and a Kyogre (Yeah, I was one of those kids)
-Finding a shiny Golbat and failing to catch it

For me, finally getting a successful shiny with Poke Radar chaining in X - an orange flower Flabébe. I usually fail to get shinies with that method most of the time (because my chain always breaks at the worst times) so it was nice I managed to finally get one. Sadly her nature was Impish which weakens her better attacking stat.

Also in Black, finally catching a Cryogonal after waiting 8 months when my first attempt failed. Any Pokemon with a 1% encounter rate really gets my gears grinding at times.

Utterly demolishing Erika's gym with a Scyther. That was when I really understood how significant type matchup is.

Catching a shiny Numel in Sapphire, then, two days later, with that Numel in the lead, encountering a shiny Electrode (which I also caught).

Finally catching a Seedot with Hidden Power Fire, also in Sapphire, so I could make a Shiftry sunnybeamer (which I never actually used).

Finding out that the Gen IV games were going to have both physical and special moves for each type.

The first time, which happened to be at night, walking into Jubilife City.

Trekking through the snow on the way to Snowpoint City.

Finding out that BW had an all new dex with NO old pokemon in it at all.

The first time crossing Skyarrow Bridge.

Finding a female Moxie Heracross in the grotto in Lostlorn Forest in W2.

Most of these are from Emerald, but there are some from SoulSilver as well.
-Catching my first wild Pokemon, which was Poochyena
    -Evolving Marshtomp into Swampert
-First time exploring a cave (Granite)
-Finding and capturing my first shiny
-Finding Bagon, my first Dragon type
    -Evolving Shelgon into Salamence
-Defeating the Elite 4 for the first time
    -Capturing my first legendary
    -Getting my first Frontier Symbol
-Day Care breeding for a Pichu that knows Volt Tackle
    -Hydro Pump 'Mence! :D
-Playing at a different region for the first time
    -Defeating Red at Mt. Silver

For some reason, it took forever for me to finally defeat Pokemon Diamond. It may because I couldn't decide on a team, and it consisted of three water types... I wasn't considered a 'good' trainer back then, haha. Nevertheless, once I took down Cynthia and Sinnoh once and for all, I felt like a weight was being lifted from my shoulders. It took me at least two months to complete that game, and I'm not proud of it. d: Thinking back on it, though, brings some pretty hilarious and sad moments that I experienced whilst playing it. So, in a way, I'm grateful that beating Diamond was such a struggle!

My best memory would definitely have to be when I first beat my Pokemon Yellow (which was my very first game). I remember starting out struggling with Brock (I don't even remember how I beat him before; it was definitely prior to discovering that Butterfree made things easier with Confusion) and being down to ¥13 before finally defeating him with a female Nidoran. I then lost to the Pokemon League a bunch of times before finally winning with a level 89 Nidoqueen and level 75 Pikachu (and some other Pokemon I can't remember).

    As for other favorite memories:

-Getting a traded Houndoom to level 100 in Gold. It was the first ever Pokemon of mine to make it to level 100.

-Finding a shiny Floatzel via RE (I was using the PokeRadar, but it wasn't chained whatsoever) on my mom's birthday. Besides the fact I found it on a special day, it was my first legit. shiny encounter other than the shiny Gyarados in GSC that I remembered. (I still think I did find a shiny Zubat in Gold, but I was too stupid to catch it and check so I'll never know :<)

-Finding a shiny Wooper in the Great Marsh and catching it. (Since, y'know, it could run away.)

-Beating the entire Pokemon League in Pearl using nothing but an underleveled Bastiodon, drugs temp. stat boosters, and healing items.
