The results for Pokémon's popularity poll came in. Here's a video showcasing the top ten:



My thoughts:

10. Gengar? Not very surprising. Decent pick, though.
9. I can see why many people picked Gardevoir...
8. Rayquaza makes sense. Pretty popular, though not what I expected at first.
7. Garchomp. What a surprise.
6. Sylveon? Alright. Of course a popular pick, but not one I expected here.
5. Umbreon?! I didn't expect this at all, but I'm here for it!
4. Charizard. WHAT A SURPRISE. At least it didn't win the poll.
3. Mimikyu. Ngl this shocked me, but I'm really happy our imposter boi is in the Top 3.
2. Really? Lucario?
1. HOW DID GRENINJA WIN A SECOND POPULARITY POLL IN A ROW.

honestly im happy about everyone on that top 10 list except for charizard lol

not that i hate charizard, it's just tiring to see it at this point.

It's honestly refreshing to not see a list full of only Kanto Pokémon but at the same there's Lucario on there and I'm tired of seeing this biped dog with a weird head all the time. I guess voting for Pokémon for each gens helped with this.

Happy to see Garchomp on there though, I've voted for it a few times. And Rayquaza too, while I didn't vote for it I've always loved this sky dragon since I first saw it after I was getting back into Pokémon.

RIP Unova though.

I love all of the Pokémon on the list, to be honest. Sure, some were expected. (I'm looking at you, Greninja) but I do think the designs of each and every Pokémon on the list are splendid.

My personal favourites on the list are Gardevoir, Sylveon, Garchomp, and Lucario!

Such a shame Ninetales didn't make it, though!

I'm surprised Sceptile or Blaziken didn't place, and it's disheartening to see no Unova Pokemon! Liligant would've looked lovely on this list!

The results for this are appalling. But then I would think this, because one of my least favourite Pokemon came in first, and one that I absolutely despise came in second. The only way it could be any worse would be if their positions were reversed.

But these results don't really mean much when you consider that 6,608,215 votes were counted, and Greninja got 140,559 of those votes. That is, rounded to the nearest whole number, 2%. The winner got 2% of the votes. That's hardly a landslide result.

Funny how Greninja, a Pokémon not even in Sword and Shield won Pokémon of the Year. Absolutely hilarious. mimikyu, though, is an absolute shock. I'm also shocked no Galar Pokémon made it in the top 10. Oh well.

Glad I could help to get Gengar, Garchomp, and Greninja in here. I also like the other ones, except Umbreon, which I find horribly overrated.

The Top 3 in that list are massively overrated imo, especially Mimikyu. Honestly don't understand why it is so popular. I'm glad to see Garchomp within the Top 10 though, thankfully it got the recognition it deserved unlike the rest of the Top 10.

Not really surprised by the top 10 much- 7/10 of the Pokemon were top 10 in the Reddit poll last year, and Greninja and Mimikyu are highly popular in Japan, so most of these results make sense. The only one I didn't expect to see up there was Garchomp, though I still figured it'd be in the top 25 or so.

I wish we could see the full results of the poll, though. I know there was a massive push to get Stantler as the #1, but the official results say it didn't even make Johto's top 30, which means it got less than 7500 votes. Either a lot of people were all talk and decided not to vote for it, or the results of the poll were altered a bit.

Not surprised by the list at all either, quite happy for umbreon and sylveon<3 otherwise.... just glad charizard didn't place first, lol

also, can i just say how surprised i am seeing umbreon on the top 10 list? no, seriously! i honestly thought it was one of the more underrated eeveelutions, really.
