my class is broke as fuck so our prom tickets are going to be like $150 lmao

I didn't go to high school grad ceremony either. Just didn't give a fuck.
I didn't go to prom, and though I do wonder at times what I missed by not going, I still don't regret it. I don't do well with large gatherings anyway.

There was nobody I hung out with by then who I would have wanted to ask to go anyway, so eh.

I'm not too keen on large gatherings either, but I can manage weddings and such because free food. :D

Oh that's neat! But yeah here it's like "special" so only the grade 12's do it.

I was part of an IB school that was attached to our public school. The IB kids in my grade (about 30 of us) wrote a program for the online voting of Prom King and Queen. We got two of us to win the honors and everyone else at prom was really confused because they didn't know who these people were.

fairly close with perhaps one or two members here. Otherwise, I feel as much of an outsider as I was when I've joined. Maybe its something to do with not being as involved with the community as much.

There's a few people here I'm friends with! People on discord are fairly nice too so when I can get on it's nice :)

how do you put yourself out there? i'll say this for anyone, but the discord is a great starting point for this kinda thing.
I just post on here mostly, which is what anyone around here does. I sometimes go into Discord, but usually there isn't a topic of conversation I'm interested in at the time so I just leave usually.

I have made countless wonderful friendships here. I dunno, as cheesy as that is, PC's special to me because of all the people I've met, even those I don't keep in contact with anymore. I was an active member here at my lowest points emotionally--being able to contact people at times like those did wonders for my mental state. There are many people I consider good friends whom I'd feel comfortable opening up to.

Usually I just actively VM people and do my best to respond to anyone who messages and strike up conversation. It's great welcoming new users and conversing with them, then watching those same people go on to get promoted, enter college years down the line, graduate, move out of their house, etc.. it reminds me of how quickly life can change, and how important the current moment is when I can still talk to the people here. You never know when they'll disappear or something, especially on a forum.

Oh yeah for sure. Discord's a new thing but it's waaaaaay better than any socializing platform we've had before imo. Lots of different subareas to get involved in communities with similar interests. I'd love to get active, but for some reason I can't keep up with large chats for too long.

I swear though. I'll start chatting there more. It's where all the cool kids are lately. *heart*

have you tried to make conversation? it's all about sticking around and leaving the post and go attitude present on both here and the forum. make your own interests!
