Red from Origins has already used a Mega Charizard, as well as the main character of "The Strongest Mega Evolution." If Ash ends up following that trend, I would just shake my head.

Oh, ninja'd haha.

Ahh I see. I wouldn't hate for him to get Mega Charizard Y but it's definitely not the cooler of the two - are megas very common in the XY anime or no?

Hmm, well Diantha and Korrina both had 'em (just like the games), but I'm pretty sure they'll start to get even more common once we reach the league. The reason why Mega Charizard would be bad for the plot is because:
  1. That would throw all of XY's character development down the drain
  2. It would just be a lazy deus ex machina
  3. It would reduce the significance of Pikachu's growth and experience throughout the series

That's kinda what a Mega is. Besides, I prefer Mega Charizard Y more, it looks so much more natural and not as bulky. It firs in more with M-Blastoise and M-Venusaur better too.

Oo you mostly use emulators then? How come? :o
The simple non-owning of any device able to play Pokémon games.

As for Charizard's Megas, I don't see why it got two. For Mewtwo, I can accept it getting more than one Mega, it's a legendary Pokémon after all. But I can't find any logical reason why Charizard has two (and Venusaur and Blastoise only one).

Mmm I always found that strange too, I'm just glad they didn't continue the trend with any more Pokémon haha. In general I'm not a big fan of megas but when a single Pokémon can inexplicably have two of them it's even worse.

Just looking at designs from Megas, shows a different look of a Pokémon. The Pokémon didn't change enough to become an actual evolution and is recognizable as the Pokémon, but still looks different. I find this interesting. Competitively I'm not a fan of Megas either.

I do enjoy the concept of 'extending' a Pokémon's final evolution, but I feel like they should have done it through forme changes or something like that - something that's permanent rather than a Digivolution rehash.

PS: Gave y'all a shoutout! ♥

On to Butterfree now :D

Yup there really has, Trivia has become such a fun place recently haha. Hopefully it keeps up!

I'll vote Butterfree up, because it's a good Pokemon early in the game, and it's cute too.

Most of my favourites are strong Pokemon with great designs, but I also like cute Pokemon.

I always found Butterfree to be a really cool Pokémon, the design is so pretty but I wish it had been Bug/Psychic based on its eyes/move pool.
