The Count To Infinity - v12

Nothing, unfortunately. These types of things don't fly with people anymore. It's sad but also not surprising. People just want to come in, do whatever they wanna do and then leave without being interrupted by inconvenient stuff. :(
Last year the avatar thing was funny ^^

I dislike April Fools day by the way. People can't seem to make a light joke, they need to do something big that becomes annoying (last year's joke on PC was well-calibrated in that regard).
On Youtube, there are so many "troll" videos. But said videomakers often complain that a video is super long to make, like 100+ hours, including writing the script. So why would you waste your time for a troll video?
On League of Legends it was funny; your character became bigger the more you killed, some monsters / minions made emotes on dying.

After three days of installation, mod installation, mod optimisation, mod merging and mod debugging, I finally ran Skyrim :D
I kind of miss open-worlds. I think I haven't played one since... well, Oblivion (which I played after Skyrim, and I liked it better, even if it was less stable lol).

Firefox uses a lot of memory, as well. Honestly, I've been looking for a new browser for a long time. But with everything just being Chrome, Firefox and a bunch of really obscure things that just don't measure up to the big ones, it's rather difficult. <_<

That was my biggest gripe with FF ngl. It's the main reason I eventually ditched it after a lifetime of use.

Obscure ones sadly don't have support for the niche extensions I like having installed at all times, so I stick with Chrome these days. It's not a problem really for me too bcs I made sure to load up my laptop with hefty amounts of RAM (24 to be exact, might even get it to 32 in a future upgrade~)

Speaking of binging though, the last long show I binged from start to finish was The Office back in 2020 lol. I remember literally not sleeping for one night so I could binge through a season and a half :p

Edge can use Edge extentions plus ones from other stores like the chrome store so I'm good!

What was the joke this year?

It was visible electromagnetic radiation from distant points in the night sky :)

Been meaning to read that yea lol, but I'm busy still with this interesting April Fool's thread (not exactly for the faint of heart however)

Speaking of April Fools, Minecraft did one again:

it looks headache inducing rofl

Yeah I ain't falling for that again!

It's been a while since I last played a good open world game. I still have fond memories of Morrowind. That game had some really intriguing world building with all the different factions and the fact they actually quite a bit of overlap. Like, joining certain factions can lock you out of others because they're actively fighting each other and if you messed up you might even end up locking yourself out of other factions. And just the different architecture that some of the use (even though requiring Levitate can be a pain if you're not prepared).
Later games kinda did away with that and made all the factions very insular which is nice when you don't want to miss anything. But at the same time it kinda takes away some of the replayability...

Oblivion is less stable =o
I don't recall having any real troubles with it 🤔
Then again I don't really play with mods. And the last time I played it was when I was still on good old win 7.

I do like Oblivion, but one things I always disliked is that late-game when you're high level all the enemies that scale with you just take forever to kill.
I remember this with Goblins in particular. Me just standing there for minutes on end whittling away at a normal enemy. Not even a boss or anything, just normal ones.

Yeah I ain't falling for that again!

It's a SmallAnt vid actually, not a rickroll xD

I think I get what you mean. "Action RPGs" have shifted from "RP" to "Action Gs"...
I also think fast travels should be removed, so I don't use them at all. I mostly play this game to relax after a defeat on LoL so I need something calm and slow :P
I loved Oblivion though. I really felt the urgency with the gates. In Skyrim, the dragons are not really a threat ^^

I'm not sure anymore XD
I've played 4 hours without a crash... Something is wrong :O

I like it when a community supports a game for way longer than the company who made it. You get fun things like community patches and graphics updates and all done by people in their free time. There are games that are over 20 years old that have been polished by random people so much you might even confuse them with something that just came out recently.

240111

I think a bunch of games I love have those types of communities. Counter Strike with the endless community modes it's spawned (the game itself started out as a literal Half Life mod I think lol), GTA 5 with all the cool skins and trainers, Cities: Skylines with the endless amount of traffic and building mods, and ofc Pokemon with literal new games and custom stories~

I used to be pretty into GTA and played it a lot. Especially Vice City, San Andreas and GTA IV.
Then in GTA V I played for a while and then just dropped it. I think I got bored with it, but I don't even remember if that was it xD

PvP games like Counterstrike have never appealed to me tbh.

I tend to prefer coop PvE too, but... Yeah, I got into LoL XD
I played GTA V when it was first released (I played it offline). I didn't like it though. It's probably the first game I've ever thought was too long. The tiny subtitles while I'm already busy driving a car bothered me so much too.

GTA has little replayability to me.
Once you've completed all the missions... it becomes a collectible hunt. And once you've completed that, well nothing left to do really xD
Just randomly driving around pretending your on some sort of mission gets old fast =p
I did often just stock up on all kinds of weapons and ammo and then just go ultra violent to get the max wanted level and see how long I'd last.

Ubisoft open worlds in a nutshell XD

I wanna say open world games in a nutshell. It was a bad day when people realized they only need to put sparkles on the ground that people can pick up and call it gameplay.

Would you believe me if I told you that this took weeks to complete:

Well, I'd say that most open-worlds are now inspired by Ubisoft games ^^"
Because I don't remember any collectible hunt in Skyrim / Oblivion; maybe there was in Horizon Zero Dawn and Witcher 3 but I don't remember.
To be honest I don't even try to complete those kinds of objectives lol.

Would you believe me if I told you that this took weeks to complete:
Spoiler:
Why is a bird mounting a hippopotamus? D:
"Two weeks" doesn't translate well into actual time... I'd say, if you took 1-2 hours every day, it looks correct to me!
