I read The Last Wish & Sword of Destiny quite a while ago by now. I think I also read Blood of Elves, but am starting to wonder if I finished that or not.
Not even sure where those books are atm lol. Got like 3 more that I bought and then never read due to lack of time @_@

I have read one Witcher novel, but it was very boring... I don't remember which one though.

Ciri didn't exist in Witcher 1 and 2.
Fun fact: if you played TW1, TW2 would read TW1's savegame to see what choices you made, and TW3 would also read TW2's savegame :)

Ciri was already a very important character in the books before Witcher 1 and 2, but they held off on introducing her into the games until Witcher 3. It was a big deal when they started to finally include her.

It was an interesting choice to hold off on it for so long.

TW1 had a bunch of game mechanics that are quite outdated and cumbersome by today's standards. I'm not sure I'd play that if I were to be introduced to it now.
TW2 is still fun too play, though I remember a fight fairly early that forces you to be familiar with the game's combat pretty well that a lot of people ended up stuck on.

Despite having finished both games, I've never used the import a save to affect things options =P

I don't remember this 🤔
However I do remember a specific fight that starts right at the end of a cinematic, and you lose half your HP right away.

I have finished TW2 in August 2016... If I start TW3, I wouldn't even remember the choices I made and their contexts XD

I'd need to play TW1 again to refresh my memory, but the combat was the biggest weird system iirc. There were some other outdated things but I don't remember well enough.
According to Steam I last played TW1 in 2012 =P

I tried Shadow of Mordor but there are big dogs that one-shoot me while I only have 2 hours in the game, so I kinda don't want ot play it ^^"

I'm alternating between playing Minecraft and trying to force a shiny Alpha in PLA.
I already picked up 2 through normal play, (technically 3, but I'd rather not evolve my shiny Alpha Psyduck due to it having a far better shiny than Golduck), so I figured I'd try to go for a full team of them.
Which does mean game progression is kinda on hold atm alas.

I kind of had the opposite experience. I had a hard time with the first two games and even burnt out on them a couple times, probably because the gameplay was a little too complicated for me. But 3 was smooth sailing from beginning to end for me. ^^
