The Count To Infinity - v12

Records are meant to be broken ya know :coolcat:

Iirc our SNES was our first console and it got tossed out because the opening thing where you put the games into broke or jammed.

I actually bumped into the N64 we had while digging through storage bins... rather doubt it still works a good two decades later though =P
Plus I thought it had been tossed out because it broke... apparently not 🤔

Welcome new user, who apparently has been around for a while! xD

Hello, ShadowLugia, and welcome to the forums... What do you mean, I am 9.6 years late ?

Ha ha, thank you xD

I made this account when I was a kid... just because I wanted to download ROM hacks. Never really said much on the forums. I finally decided after all these years, "Eh, why not actually have a chat with people?" xP

We had an SNES, too. I don't know where it went, though. My mother says it's somewhere in her basement but so far I couldn't find it. I'm inclined to believe my father sold it many years ago. Sadly, should I find it then my sister is probably going to take it...

Meanwhile, I still got my parent's original Gameboy and I hope to someday find either one of our old Gameboy Color or preferably that old Gameboy Advance that we also had.

Can't help but notice when looking back that all the handhelds I had to myself are still alive and kicking, and the handhelds and console I shared with my brother are all RIP 🤔
xD

My older brother gave me his 2DS as a parting gift of sorts.

Oddly enough, began preferencing this thing over the normal 3DS variants.

There is probably something to investigate but let's not jump to conclusions, right?

Talking about old consoles: back when I still went to school, when I was old enough to leave school grounds during longer breaks, I used to go to the central market of that town. They had like a thrift store and among other things they were selling a couple GB and GBC games. One of them was the Pokemon TCG video game and I always wanted to just go in there and buy it. But I never did. Even though, I could have just done it quite easily. They don't exist anymore, of course. And I still regret it to this day. ^^"

I once missed the public bus home because I was buying ice cream at the campus store.

Was standing there with a mouth full of ice cream seeing the bus off in the distance. Momentarily questioned my decision making.

There were two 240 726

When I was in the US I bought a couple glass Suncatchers at a giftshop, because I really like that sort of stuff. I wanted to buy some more of them but felt insecure whether or not they'd survive the trip back home. I've been regretting not picking up more of them ever since =\
They looked really nice imo

Although the game didn't exist at the time yet, the word 'sus' seems very fitting =P

You just crushed my record of 84. :(
Stupid popular people who are very much liked for all their positive contributions throughout the whole of PC...

Do you have one of these Wii's? What other cool stuff are you hiding from us? D:
<3

I do! And it still gets used for GameCube games and emulators!

Operation Thumb Up is a success!
(I have been quite busy with real life these last weeks and thus missed a lot of posts, so I took the occasion to catch up!)

Oops ping ;)

And we're happy about that! 😊

We all started there XD

What's a rom hack? 😁

Speaking of rom hacks, I am nervous about the release of Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, because it means I'll have to implement the new moves / abilities + Terastal for my fangame :(

Do you need to hard code it in or do you use a modular approach? I think the latter would be very useful as you not only have a way to add more mechanics in the future without messing with your current stuff, but also have options to provide stuff for other Pokemon game devs.

I have already coded a first version of Terastal based on past information on the topic. The coded is disabled in the game for now, but it is there. I will only have to update it :)
And of course it's modular :)

Considering that I am using an outdated version of Pokémon Essentials, the code that I wanted to release for everyone is basically unusable.
I have a few nice scripts (Assistance!), the whole community could enjoy it, but there is too much difference between v18 (that I use) and v20.1 (the current version), I don't want to make a separate release.

It's already almost dark at 17:30 now.
Starting to get dark earlier and earlier.
Also unlike previous week the temperature is finally becoming more appropriate for autumn.

I've only played a couple and wasn't exactly impressed. I may have too high of a standard for all I know, though. Doesn't help that RPG Maker stuff isn't exactly platform independent and kinda expects the player to run a Windows machine.
Why are you on Linux though... 😤
Also I thought you played a lot of fangames, because I think you mentioned having been part of the fangame moderators and you ended up testing some games all the week-end... Or maybe it wasn't you who told that? ^^"

Before I went to PC I spent a couple years on an RPG Maker forum. During that time I was also part of a usergroup that, among other things, played new games and then added them to the database of their respective website.

Pokemon games were very rare in that community. Afaik, Pokemon Essentials didn't even exist at the time. But ROM Hacks certainly did.
