Who moved this back here? D:

Oh well I'm tired of talking about HGSS, how about Gold the Hatcher?

ngl, i dislike this thread, gdi
...But why? Anyway, seeing as how it's in HeartGold/SoulSilver now, I guess I can start by saying that this game is definitely taking a turn for Pokémon. All in a good way for sure, but it only questions how well the next series of games may be compared to this remake.

Edit: I'm going to have to ask, what exactly is Gold the Hatcher?

[PokeCommunity.com] The Incredibly Wandering Thread (V1)

Gold (Japanese: ゴールド Gold) is the fifth main character of the manga series Pokémon Adventures. His starter Pokémon is a Cyndaquil which he "borrowed" from Professor Elm; what his actual first Pokémon was is not clear, since he grew up in a house full of Pokémon. His neighbors in New Bark Town refer to his family as the "House of Pokémon." He likes playing billiards, but sometimes he may use his Pokémon to cheat. His favorite idol/DJ is DJ Mary from the Goldenrod Radio Station.
He usually wears a pair of goggles and on a scooter. Instead of throwing/kicking his Poké Balls, he uses a billiard cue to shoot them out. Gold's include gambling, skateboarding, and trying foods from different cities. Professor Oak noted that while Red had some odd habits, Gold is much more immature and mischievous.
Gold's special skill, as described by Professor Oak, is Pokémon hatching and is known as the "Breeder" (孵す者 Breeder). He has the ability to draw out the largest potential of a baby Pokémon, having lived with Pokémon his whole life.

Yes, I reference Pokemon Special whenever I can. @3@

Gold's new look this time around compared to his original artwork has greatly improved. I can say that. He looked more leaner and more modern than before. Not to mention, Gold all around was a favorite character in the game and manga for me, so to see this change was a nice touch after so long.

You must mean the one for the Emerald Saga right? (HGSS is still later...XD)

Yeah, he looks more mature, plus a different artist. @3@

I was more referring to his new look for HeartGold and SoulSilver, but yes the change for Gold in the manga was an improvement too. Plus, for a different artist, I would have to say that the difference wasn't half bad. As for the maturity, it was something I was looking for in Gold, just to represent change in age and as for his maturity in HG/SS, that too has been an improvement.

I loved the new Gold in the manga 8D *drools*

I wonder if HG/SS will have a counterpart in the manga, like FR/LG did. Would be a bit weird, and probably feature a crap story... like FR/LG did XD

I so want to play HG... can't wait til this spring! I am not going to play the japanese game, even though I probably know what they all say, since it's a remake :p

I was recently considering just getting the rom of the us version. But the pedometer has me changing my mind. Lol Russell Howard.

Why is this back here?!

Anyway... Can anyone tell me how to get the ! and ? Unown?

Gold can look as different as the artists want him to, as long as he doesn't start acting mature all of a sudden. Dx So not in his character.
I haven't really paid too close attention to his designs, and I actually like them equally. I think the old one suited his manga personality better, but overall I think I prefer the HG/SS design.
(Also, FRLG was my favorite arc... >>)

Ahem, about HG/SS.
I'm not sure of how to get the ? and ! Unowns. Do you have to catch all the others first? >>
I'd like to know. Anyone know?

Hurrry up with that english release date Nintendo! The moon runes are killing meh!!!!!!!

Me too .
I can't suffer these spoilers and this Japanese thingamongy I can't understand T_T .

They probably will, but the FR/LG saga didnt have such a bad story line. I liked how they tied in deoxys into it :D

lol the incredibly wandering thread...IT always wanders~
*ghost speaks*OOOOOO~~~~

I think it just needs to be moved elsewhere. xD Anyway, nothing much to discuss on HG/SS really as things are moving a little slow these days. Though, we are getting closer and closer to the new year which only means we're getting closer to the US release of HG/SS. ^^

Since I'm not planning on getting HG/SS, I guess I could go on another rant about why I won't, but you can reference my old blog entries for that particular rant :P

And to think I might have if they gave Kotone a jumper-style dress instead of Mario-esque overalls and included a final boss who didn't have a pathetic as heck yellow rodent on their team... Most everything else (no Leaf, some ugly sprites, Karen/Blaine's makeovers) I could have overlooked.

Did I mention how much I hate my laptop? Not only does everything run slowly, but the cooling fan is making the most disconcerting buzzing and grinding noises. I'm quite concerned that the thing is on its last legs :/
