the internet is down, OF ALL THE WORST THINGS THAT COULD HAPPEN...

Long walks on the beach.
The perfect remedy for internet-deprived people.

Other than that, I can't suggest much. Maybe play some video games? Or read a book.

The only thing I'm sad about when the net goes down is I can't keep in touch with some people.
When the internet is down for some time, that's the time I call tech support xD

Usually, I'll attempt to keep reloading my page to see if they show or not. If they don't, then I'll try again after a few minutes. If it's still not good, I'll go check on my router, phone, or whatever I'm using to stay connected to see if everything's all right. This seems to do the trick in most cases, but if it still doesn't, then I'll simply quit and move onto other things, such us either playing games, working on homework, or simply get done with some house-work.

this is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING.

kay not really haha. BUT, I'm sure we've been there, right? That dreadful moment when your internet goes down probably for some odd reason. In today's society we tend to use the internet for ~almost~ everything, from keeping in touch with far away friends, to online shopping, to schooling. It has become a basic necessity of life, and without it...what would we do?

What do you do when the internet goes down? How do you react? Do you attempt to fix it? Wait till it fixes itself? Do you call for tech support if all else fails?

When it goes down; I thank my lucky stars I have so many video games for offline play :P Either that, or *squints intensely*

Go... out...side.....

*shudders*

Hah but really I have Ableton on my laptop too, so sometimes internet failure results in impromptu music sessions.

I usually freak out. D: The internet is part of my everyday routine, so if it goes down... I'm more than likely to freak out over it, especially if it can't be fixed in time. >< I can't really do anything outside of my routine either if the internet is down. Because believe me, I have tried that many times, and it only makes my anxiety worse. DX

There was one time my Da had protected himself from heartbleed by changing his router password. However once the internet went off we couldn't get back on again for 4 days. Not exactly sure why it happened but we got the problem sorted.

Whenever my internet disconnects, I usually become depressed seeing as it usually always occurs when I'm typing something long and then attempt to post it without making a backup copy. Seeing as my parents aren't very intelligent with computers, I usually have to leave my room, trudge downstairs and see my parents groaning about their emails not working. I then do the most simple thing there is: turn my router on and off. It always works!

While i do hate it when it happens, i have a lot of stuff do to offline. Listen to music, lua and ruby scripting, making a game with Pokemon Esentials, and most importantly, WATCHING ACHIVEMENT HUNTER VIDEOS I DOWNLOADED.

Sure, I get disappointed whenever the internet disconnects while I'm doing something on it that requires constant "streaming", like an online game. But, for other cases in most times, the internet can pretty much hiccup whenever it wants.

Naturally, that means I just walk away, do something else, and come back in a few hours. It's that simple, I have lived without internet before, I can do it again :)

First reaction: I get annoyed. I click on the Network Center to try to reestablish a connection. If that fails, I turn off the modem and reset it. If that fails, I try and usually fail to remember how to flush the DNS, etc. If I get a connection, that's the first thing I look up and then I leave it up in case it goes down again.

If all else fails, I die a little inside XD And then I try to find something else to do in the meantime. It's not always easy T_T

When the internet in my house goes down its normaly because some one is watching hq videos when i said only 320px only. and that why i got my self a big red button connected to a rasberry pi connect to the router whitch kick everybody off except me. i also have the rasberry pi connect to speaker and i make it play loud siren nosiys when i press the button

I handle the internet hiccuping way better than dealing with the reaction of my technologically illiterate older brother demanding that I fix it. My fiancé and I will generally just shrug it off, because it is almost always the router needing to be reset. My brother would pace around the house and sigh dramatically, like a teenage drama queen. He's 27 and watches Grey's Anatomy religiously. -_-

Naooooo my server

My internet usually doesn't go down unless the power goes out. Which is a real server killer. Just last month while I was out visiting family, the power went out and my server went down. Stayed like that for about two weeks, until I got back home and found out that Google marked my domain as phishing ;^;

My dad doesn't really know how to use electronics, so he tried installing a secondary modem so our whole house will get covered since he doesn't get any Wifi in his office, but whenever he turns it on it makes it so Wifi doesn't work anywhere else in the house. Because this is really the only reason the internet goes out, I usually get pretty mad because 99% of the time it's my dad's fault. I usually just go read a book or do extra work when there isn't anything else to do.
