  • It's been 2 years now since I first took over the Monotype Challenge, and so to show you all my gratitude in sticking with me for so long and adhering to the rules so well, I am giving everyone a free pass. Simply post the phrase below before the New Year and you can bend a single rule of your choosing, within reason, for one of your Challenges, existing or new. Simply specify the rule you want to bend and how you will do so. Keep it reasonable please!

    Secret Code
I could be a Gym Leader!

Before I use the secret code I have a quick question. Last December when you did the Christmas event to hack one pokemon into our challenge I used the code to hack a Gastly into the Emerald part of my Ultimate Ghost challenge and play it until about the 7th/8th gym but had to restart due to my save file getting corrupted when I transferred laptops.

I restarted the challenge, but didn't play passed the first gym because I didn't feel like replaying the whole thing at the time. Now I was wondering would I still be able to use the Gastly I hacked into Emerald since I hacked it in during the last event, and then use this new secret code to hack one pokemon into a different challenge?

Here's a link to the post where I used the last code for the Gastly just incase you want proof or anything.

Sorry for the long question :P

So! After so much time and thought, I might as well take the Monotype Challenge. Not too long ago, I managed to get a copy of Y, when I was supposed to get Omega Ruby. I did get OR later in the day, but apparently the person who has given me fine if I get both. But I digress.

Because of that, I'm going to make both Y and OR as my games for Challenges. I don't like planning teams these days, and I've always wanted to take on Challenges in any of the 6th Gen games.

    Here's my first update...

  • Well, Necrum, I've always hoped that I could be a Gym Leader. But I think I'll be an NPC instead.

I was going to do a Teddiursa solo run. But since this is a thing, I'd like to trade four Teddiursa and run that team. They'll all know the same four moves - Play Rough, Metal Claw, Night Slash, and Cross Chop - and they'll all have similar stats.

The only difference will be which of Kurt's Apriballs they'll be in. EDIT: except three of them hatched without Cross Chop, and I didn't notice til it was too late >.< But I did manage to trade them over as eggs.

So I guess I'm bending Rule 2 and the 'only one trade-in' clause. What do you think?

I feel like it would be boring to use 4 Teddiursa, but to each his own.

I could be a Gym Leader, but i would much rather collect badges than give them.
Anyways I've been stuck with at the first badge my volt white dragon mono type simply because it is a triple battle against all fire types when I have only a Snivy/Servine. This works out so well since I ask to do this a month or so ago. I'm plan to bend the rule about trading in pokemon with egg moves by pokegening in 5 dragon eggs so thet will all hatch at level 1.

I dunno man. I saw a ninja boy with three koffing, and I was all "I wonder what that's like?"

Anyways, let's make this nonsense official.

    Forum User Name: Tek
    Pokémon Type: Normal
    Challenge Type: Single
    Game(s): Y

So far I spent an hour choosing a name that was both legible and had wordplay (I went with Tekkaキ). Then I spent an hour and a half getting the gang to Lv 5, and super training the Teddiursa I would use if this had turned out to be a solo run.

I didn't know which Teddi was which when they hatched, so for now I named them イチ (one), 二 (two), サン (three), and シ (four). I have to say, the names seem much more interesting just by being written in Japanese.

  • I have decided to take on the impossible task of playing this:

    Forum User Name: Wilhelm
    Pokémon Type: Ice
    Challenge Type: Ultimate
    Game(s): White Version (Others Later)

I was going to use my code here, but I think it would be more interesting if I just used the three solid Ice Types that are in Unova. I am going to hate myself for this later. My standard hack in is going to be Vanillite, because it's the only one that has 3 stages.

I could be a Gym Leader! But I wouldn't be a good one.

Forum User Name: Matthew Jay Reynolds
    Pokémon Type: Poison
    Challenge Type: Ultimate
Game(s): Red, Crystal, Alpha Sapphire, Platinum, Black, X

I'm using my code to get Weedle in Alpha Sapphire, so I can use Mega Beedrill. (I can get the Beedrillite before the 8th gym)
Changing my mind since I remembered I can catch Kakuna after the 8th Badge, so I'll wait to use him in the E4.
I'd rather use the code to trade in a Bulbasaur at the beginning of the game after I get my Pokedex.

Also, a question for X, can I use two megas in my team.
I think I should be able to since I can only use one per battle, but I wanted ask first.
