    I didn"t see any tread on this with the "search" so let's go...

    They said that the next Nintendo console would be a Nintendo DS 2, would have :

    -Two digital screens ;
    -No GBA port ;
    -Larger screens ;
    -I don't know 8D

    Let's confirm that on the 2 october conference =\

    Why does this make me think of all the rumors about the Dreamcast 2 back in the day?

    I know it's maybe a fake but we'll know that on next the nintendo conference. Playing with two digital screens seems impossible, and having another stylus in the left/right hand would be unplayable.

    Zet-Yes,it would be very odd. Although,we only think that becuase the DS has always had 2 screens..

    TLM
    I would have thought "DS" standing for "Dual-Screen" to have been more of the reason why...

    Most DS games that involve touch screen and control pad are nicely set up so that it wouldn't be too difficult to switch between the two thankfully. I doubt this will change on a newer model; if one is actually going to be released.

    Also, I wouldn't mind seeing the graphics of the DS games go up a few more notches. As nice as some of the games are now already, comparing it to the PSP the other day really made me think Nintendo should try to match or better that but still keep the price nice and easily affordable.

    I know, but how do you holdthe console if you use your both hands playing on two digital screens ?
    'cause while playing with the control pad using you thumb, you can hold the console with the other fingers =\

    I know that's stupid but it's not convenient.

    Well, the new games would be like mmm...

    Tap x on upper screen then x on lower screen, etc, etc but rarely some game will need you to tap on both screens =.=

    That's what came to mind and if they are doing it thats PROBABLY since sony is going on for the next PSP already (yep, they are and this one i know it's true) its just a matter of time for nintendo to start working on the next handheld...

    gee what a bad problem not been able to use the control pad ond stylus at the same time, i wonder if any people have already meet that problem with some games...

    Oh yeah thats right LEFT HANDERS!!!

    not all games are made for use you know and i seriously doubt that there will be two touch screens because that would be impossible to use also it wouldn't have a smooth motion anymore with a gap between the screens

    I'm not entirely sure that's what they'll announce Oct 3rd anyway. 8/ It just seems a little early, considering that everyone is buying a DS these days, even non-gamers. I'd assume they'll want to bank on the success of the brand for another year at least. D:

    I don't think there'd be a problem with two digital screens. o_O Why would that mean you'd have to use two styluses? It'd probably be implemented usually as one screen being the menu, the other being for the actual game. You wouldn't be constantly touching both screens, I don't think. :| Larger screens, probably. And I agree that there likely won't be GBA support. But I still don't think we're all that close to the next "form" of the DS.

    Why would they remove the GBA port? That'd be so stupid. Half of the DS games would lose important functionality - no more Pal Park, the Internet browser wouldn't work, and I think there's a Rumble Pak for Metroid Prime Pinball.

    I sincerely doubt it, but a touch capacitive screen would be awesome.

    Anyw, as Lightning already said, Nintendo is likely going to wait another year before realeasing another one. The current DS practically prints money.

    No more Elite Beat Agents with rumble pak, no more Guitar Heroes ='(

    It's not real.(Maybe...)

    Exactly what I was thinking.

    If they do release the "DS2", I imagine they'd add protection against flash carts which means everyone will continue to buy Lites.

    *Beep beep* Alert! You are using flash cards.
    LOL... Just JK

    Anyway, not only that! With no GBA slot everyone will not buy DS2.

    I'm not sure if this is real or not, but I hope it's not, because if you had a Nintendo DS, what would be the point of having a Nintendo DS 2? If it IS real, I certainly wouldn't buy it.

    Too early for a new DS. Perhaps a redesign, but not a brand new portable. Nintendo stuck with the original GB for about eight years until the colour came out because it kept selling. And the DS is still selling like hotcakes. I don't it will take eight years, but it has a year or two of life left in it.

    Yeah, good point. I would rather they make a new version of the DS instead of a whole new one.
    The Nintendo DS is really good, and there's nothing in my mind that can make it better.

    I had an idea quite a while ago of different versions, like "Nintendo DS Twilight", or "Sunlight", etc.
    Although I doubt my idea will count for anything.

    There's a new report on Kotaku about a DS redesign. It'll have MP3 playback and a built-in camera. I don't know if it's the same DS mentioned in the rumor that the DS will be re-designed without a GBA slot. Again - it's really stupid for Nintendo to leave that out. It's used for more than just playing GBA games. It's used in Guitar Hero On Tour, Pokemon DPPt, etc. without it, some DS games will either not work or will be without half of its features.
