I did recently randomly catch a couple Pokemon Movies on on TV though:
-The Rise of Darkrai
-Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice
-Genesect and the Legend Awakened
-Hoopa and the Clash of Ages
There were also a couple I saw partially due to them being on at inopportune times, so I won't list those lol

There was a rumour going around that R/B would be adapted into a live-action film after Detective Pikachu came out, but no news about it have surfaced since. Maybe it was canned along with the DP sequel, but still! I really would like to see the Kanto GLs in live-action.

Anyway, as for your premise: False. Hisui Growlithe is much more adorable than Kanto Growlithe.

False I think. A lot of early route Pokemon are not great. In my Shining Pearl playthrough only the only Pokemon I caught early that I used was Budew which evolves into Roserade.
