Appears to be based off of mata mata. Resembles its inspiration quite a bit, relatively-speaking.

Likes this turtle well enough to vote it up once. Might be due to its signature move Shell Trap. Hits both opponents for a 150 power Special Attack. Compensates for its middling Special Attack. Could be nasty with a Weakness Policy boost.
