Pansear having gluttony as an ability is borderline useless. Gluttony is perfect for pokemon that an take a hit and Pansear will most likely be left with >10% HP. Or maybe it will faint with those 63/63 defenses and 75 HP as Simisear. Even blaze isn't a good ability
It could have worked. Pansear and the others being based off the three wise monkeys is still an interesting depiction. However, it would be wise to use something else for a fire type when gen 5 introduced Darumaka
Yeah. For the water type, they could've made a dolphin or orca line. As for the Fire type, I'd base that one on a zoo animal for which they haven't made a Fire type Pokemon yet. Like an elephant or a rhinoceros.
Worse Infernape. Dislikes its pose and expression. Views the cloud neck pillow as a little strange. Understands putting something in there. Probably looks strange without it too.
Infernape invalidates Simisear as a pokemon. Charizard invalidates Simisear's stats. Typholsion invalidates Simisear's mono fire type and movepool. What bothers me the most is that Simisear does not keep the Wise Monkey reference of being Hear No Evil. Simipour keeps its eyes closed and Simisage keeps its mouth open. What does Simisear do? Put its arms down with that weird posture. Looks like teenage Dill Pickles from All Grown Up.
Simisear doesn't have a lot going for it whereas Simisage can be an alternate Serperior with higher attack. There are many mixed attacking fire types whereas there are not many mixed attacking grass types.
It was absolutely worth it too. Panpour just couldn't make the cut. I did get to evolve it really early but that's it. One thing I did not mentioned before is that you should not evolve the Wise Monkey trio early because they learn next to no moves upon evolution. Now that sucks. I thought Game Freak stopped doing that by gen 4.
