In each of the Pokemon games, we start out our adventures with the help of Pokemon Professors. They give us our Pokedex's and help send us on our way. Each professor has their own personality and teaching style. We have...

Professor Oak from Kanto
Professor Elm from Johto
Professor Birch from Hoenn
Professor Rowan from Sinnoh
Professor Juniper from Unova
Professor Sycamore from Kalos

Which professor do you like the most? Which professor do you like the least?

I like Professor Juniper the best! I really liked how much she interacted with the player in the games. It made her role as a researcher seem more realistic.
My least favorite is probably Sycamore. I'm not really sure why. Maybe he's too flamboyant for my tastes.

My favorite is Professor Oak! I don't know why, he should seems like...the REAL professor for me. Although he's a bit...strange for not remembering things everyone would...like the name of his grandson.

Professor Oak is way past his prime. He doesn't even have that wise old man vibe going for him like Professor Rowan. I suspect a case of mild dementia. (too far?)

I guess I like Oak and Rowan the best. And I don't particularly care for Birch and Sycamore; Birch looks like he dressed himself while hung over, and Sycamore looks like the typical creepy guy on your local sex offender registry.

I find this surprising for myself but I really like Rowan. He seemed wise and kind and like someone i would want to learn from. Birch is my least favorite because i see him as the guy fieri of pokemon professors. I just imagine him being loud and obnoxious and dressing terribly... probably would bleach his tips

Honestly, its because Oak felt like he was and always will be the prof!

Prof Rowan felt...I dunno, like he was this one region only prof. Thats just me tho!

I don't fall to the nostalgic value of Oak or Elm here, in fact Juniper is my fave because she is actually the first female Professor and it proves the occupation is not just a guy's thing. Plus I find her adorable as well, which is why I love her even more.

I like Professor Oak, i think he is the most advanced Professor as he knows all things about Pokemon, his basic concept to study relationships between pokemons and humans was literally awesome, I don't like Professor Rowan though.

Wow, my favorite isn't too well liked here! ;) I love Professor Sycamore, from his theme song to his absolutely adorable reaction whenever I inevitably trash him in battle. :P Juniper comes a close second, while I don't really care for Birch.

Professor Juniper is my favourite by far! Partly because she was my first, partly because she's a woman and also because of the way she interacted with you and seemed smart and competent.

I'm not keen on Oak, probably because his voice annoys me in the anime.
Elm I don't really remember anything about him!
Birch seems a tad useless!
Rowan I don't really remember much either!
Sycamore was a good Professor but he seemed too... flirty?!

I don't even give most of the professors a second thought, they're just...there, I guess. I forget about them as the game goes on. Oak is pretty much the professor I always think of whenever I think of any pokemon game - to be honest, the names of the others always slip my mind. X) And if you were to refer to them by name, I would just be like "who?" So yeah.

Which means I only really have a professor I like the most. I don't have one I like the least since everyone but Oak is pretty much the same in my mind ah ha.

Sycamooore. <3 He's very handsome and a fun character, I always love the eccentric types of people in Pokemon. Juniper's a close second though - she's very nice-looking and from my all-time favorite region so naturally there's some bias there.

Oak comes up not far behind.. but it's mostly for nostalgia.

Either Sycamore or Rowan, I guess. They never really stood out to me as having very... different personalities, but I think I'm a little blind to personalities when I can't actually hear a voice. To me pretty much every Professor has had an identical personality, so all I can really base it on is their design and what I imagine their personality -would- be. For that... those two.

Sycamore just feels like somebody you could be buddies with. He seems a lot more casual and down to Earth, and possibly more gentle.

Rowan because... I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's the facial hair. He just gives me this lovable mentor kind of vibe.

Honorable mention goes to Birch... pretty much exclusively because he reminds me of JonTron.

I like the Juniper father and daughter from the Unova region.~ :) Professor Aurea Juniper has more involvement in the plot, unlike most of the professors in game. :)

I like Juniper because she's the only professor in-game that is female and have a father who is a pokemon prof to me and Rowan because he resembles teacher and worthy mentor. Last spot shold be for Sycamore cuz he isn't your all-day professor and tends to test out player. I dislike elm he is just utter mess and kluzty, Oak who just come by on most gens and Brich I'm not interested on learning pokemon habitat cuz it's hazardous job.

 

[Hiatus]

I'm kind of more used to seeing Oak playing the role of Pokémon Professor, as he's been making various appearances throughout titles since generation one. He even gets himself involved into the story in some of them, at least in some capacity, making Oak feel slightly more important than other professors (who are exclusive to the games that they're featured in).

Rowan is awesome. He's proactive in the story, genuinely cares about Pokemon and the protagonist, and is generally a cool old guy who stands up even to the grunts of Team Galactic as they try and mug him. And gives them an epic cutdown. Awesome. He even lets you keep the Pokemon you used to defend yourself at the start of the game and gives you a Pokedex, even when you and your friend take them back to him because his aide accidentally left them by the lake. He's easily my favorite.

My least favorite though... would be Sycamore. Hands down. He sympathizes with the main antagonist even when it would be beyond the realm of reason to do so (even after Lysandre comes out saying he wants everyone to die and fully intends to murder EVERYONE, Sycamore never really condemns him for this and constantly feels sorry for him,) doesn't seem to do all that much, and is generally creepy all around. It doesn't help that the majority of girls in the region like him, including your own mom. He's like a younger ripoff of Professor Oak but just not as cool. He doesn't even interact with you and your band of heroes until you come see him in his lab in Lumiose; he just hands the starter Pokemon to your friends in Aquacorde and expects that person to hand them out. Lazy much?
