[Challenge] The Time Warp Challenge

Just about to get started with Jurassic Jam, but wouldn't mind a quick bit of clarification for the era types. When it says "Pokemon based on reptiles" is that just for the water types since cute ones are banned, or does that count for all types allowed in the era? I'm assuming just water types on the bases that bugs are well...bugs but i don't want to find out half way that i've been cheating

I always interpreted it as "You can use Fire, Bug, Water-Type and any Pok?mon based on Reptiles"
If you compare it to the Banned Types, you can see that in there, format of it is "cute Water-Types" without the comma. With would mean you can't use cute Water-Types.

The machine i had mindlessly thrown myself into and operated like a madwoman came to a slow shuddering halt. The lights dimmed and the only light left inside the pod came from the big red
"Cooldown" letters on the console alongside several ticking numbers. It seems whatever i had done to operate the time-machine had worked but it would be a few days before the new model would be ready to use again. Tentatively i opened the door, and was instantly left staring out into the near pitch darkness of the outside world. There was nothing out there, no lights, no buildings and certainly no people.

As my eyes adjusted to the moonlit scenery i was able to make out a few shapes cautiously making their way towards me. Instinctively i reached for my pokedex and pokeballs, only to remember i had left them back home under the care of my mother, worried i might lose them in the crowds i had been expecting at the event. As the creatures got closer i could see they resembled pokemon, though they looked a lot tougher, gruffer and fiercer than any pokemon back home. Just how far back in time had i traveled?

Two of them hung back, unsure about the stranger in their territory, but the one resembling a snake kept coming towards me,(if i remembered the pokedex correctly, it looked very similar to a snivy from my time) i stayed as still as possible hoping it wouldn't attack me out of the blue, but it seemed more curios about me than anything else. Perhaps it had never seen a human before? I crouched to its level and tried to befriend the snake, it didn't seem to mind. but its friends (Tepig and Oshawott? they looked bigger and meaner than the ones i know though) didn't seem too happy with me touching their snivy friend and attacked.

The snivy defended me in battle(lost to both of them mind you) however,apparently satisfied with whatever feelings Snivy portrayed, the attackers left. I named my new friend Opheodrys (after the latin name for the common grass snake) and since it seemed like he wanted to hang round, i decided
to explore the world while the time machine cooled-down.

Opheodrys and i decided to get to know each other better by spending some time training around the area i had arrived in and resting by the time machine when we got too worn out.

After some intense training Pheo and i decided to move on, he led the way and eventually two familiar looking pokemon were ahead of us. It was oshawatt and tepig. while still cautious around me, they seemed more mellow about snivy traveling with me. It seemed they were waiting for us, because as soon as we arrived, they led Pheo and i through some thick brush. On the other side was what appeared to be a small pokemon village.

I was growing more and more certain that the pokemon around here had never seen a human, as their reactions were more curious than the ones back home who spent a lot of time hiding in the grass, or being straight out aggressive. Tepig and Oshawatt led Theo and i to a small pool at the edge of the poke-village where we drank some deeply refreshing water that did wonders for our health and spirits.

A commotion distracted us from our rest, the pokemon of the little village were having some sort of meeting; and while i couldn't understand their words the tension in the air told me that my arrival was dividing opinions. The exact details were unknown but i expected my travels to be met by resistance from those who saw me as a threat to their way of life. Among those who had a problem with me was a small Zorua with sad eyes. He attacked me with some of his friends (Opheodrys fought them off valiently) I mentally named my attacker 'N' for 'Not friendly' as i had a feeling i would meet him again.

Encountered a rather lively Weedle after fleeing the village. I wanted it to join me on my adventures but without pokeballs i had no clue how to do it. Thankfully, after battling it, Pheo produced some odd looking nuts and offered them to the weedle.

The weedle eyed them up before eating three of the 6 presented nuts and crawling over to my side. Perhaps those nuts worked as some sort of peace offering among the pokemon in this time. I nickname my new ally Vespa (After the giant hornet) and he seemed content to ride on my head, coming down to battle now and then as training.

Vespa evolved quickly, and pretty soon he was a giant bee/wasp which made me feel much safer.

---striaton city---

We came across a forest clearing, with three large colorful monkeys(pan-somethings if i recall) and their friends guarding what looked like the only way forward. My friends and i kept our distance for now, finding some more of those Poke-nuts.

Vespa cut down a small tree and we made a temporary home in the dead end behind it training against the less intimidating pokemon we found there. During this time Opheodrys evolved! Now i felt a little more confident we could get past the pan-trio blocking our way forward. I considered taking on the three simi's but something made me want a 3rd ally to even the playing field. So i befriended Ascalapha the Venonat (After the latin for Black witch moth) and spent some time training him to Pheo and Vespa's level.

OOC: Ascalapha will probs be referred to as Cal

i Approached the three monkeys and as expected they prevented me from passing. The fire one stepped forward, and summoned his five of his friends, all of which were fire types before attacking us 3 on 3. We battled valiantly but eventually fell to pansear himself. I retreated back to my hiding spot
where my friends and i returned to training.

The second time round we were more prepared and we managed to knock out pansear and his friends without anyone being taken out, though everyone was in need of a good rest. The two other pan's fled with their fallen brother leaving the way forward clear. On the ground near where they had been
standing was an interesting looking rock. i picked it up as a souvenier of our victory today and was reminded of gym badges back home.

Before moving on, i heard a cry, and ran back towards my previous hiding spot past the fast growing tree. It was Bianca the oshawatt! (after battling the pansear who had a tepig for an ally i realised i had to think up names for Pheo's friends.) Bianca was trying to defend a floating pink elephant from a frenzied group of beedrill. My worn out friends and i rushed in to help.

The enemy were tough, we managed to defeat the first half of the group, but the bugs just kept on coming. The second swarm left Cal unconscious, Pheo seriously poisoned and Vespa spent the majority of the time paralysed. My own beedrill managed to hang in there like a champ though, as he managed to fight through the paralysis and barely pull off a win. Those who could still move fled the scene.

Another, bigger floating elephant (they reminded me of munna and musharna, but were far too large...) turned up and thanked us, before leaving with its child. Bianca too seemed grateful and fetched us some spring water to drink, carrying it inside a large leaf. A night of rest later and we were ready to travel on. I wondered briefly if the Time-machine was ready yet, but it had only been about 3 days since i had arrived and the timer had indicated it wouldn't be ready for at least a week.

As we continued our journey through the lush wild-land i contemplated the difficulty we had been having against strong opponents and felt the need for a few more allies, back at home trainers would carry up to 6 pokemon as it was wildly agreed that 6 was the optimal number that one could care for and raise effectively. Despite not having pokeballs (admittedly it felt nice to have my friends walk beside me all the time) i wanted to keep to that tradition. We needed a new friend or two. Preferably a type not weak to fire.

Speaking of a weakness to fire, Cheren the tepig showed up looking confident, he seemed to be enjoying traveling and i think he and Pheo had a bit of a rivalry going on. Anyway Cheren and a few of his new friends challenged us to a battle (was he imitating me as a trainer? or were pokemon of this age just really co-operative with each other?)

At least we weren't attacked completely out of the blue this time. We managed to win, but as soon as our battle was concluded two Scrafty ran past us each holding an egg, being chased by a tired looking Archeops. (Wow!! id only ever seen fossils of this pokemon in a museum! it was bigger than i imagined!) I guessed that the archeops was the mother of those eggs, and Cheren and i ran after the Scrafty to get them back.

OOC: spent ages here training on audino in shaking grass, looking for a totodile

While we were chasing the Scrafty, a beastly looking totodile stepped out in front of us, and grew angry when we tripped over it. We were forced to battle it to calm it down, before Ascalapha offered it a couple of the friend-nuts. It ate two of the larger ones before deciding to tag along with us, so i named it Sarcosuchus (After an extinct crocodile that wouldn't stop growing as long as it lived) and gave him the rundown of what was going on. He seemed eager to help so we continued the chase.

OOC: Sarcosuchus will probs be referred to as Arc. i could have just given them these names but the actual latin seemed cooler.

My new friend Arc and Cheren the tepig battled alongside each other against the Scrafty's to retrieve the eggs, after the battle Sarcosuchus evolved! guess my new ally was pretty strong already.

We returned the eggs to the archeops and went on our way.

We bumped into cheren, and once again it seemed like he was waiting for us. The forest had grown thick and humid, and i could no longer tell if it was getting dark due to daylight changes or foliage density. The tepig led us farther into the forest depths, and once again we emerged from the shrub into a large clearing. It seemed like this was another little pokemon village just on the outskirts of the deep woods.

The majority of the little village was centered around a large tree stump. We rested at another spring (those things seem to be as common as pokecenters, wonder if there's a connection?). I was a bit more cautious with the residential pokemon this time. Most seemed okay with me being there, but one seemed to guard the entrance into the deep woods fiercely. Unable to remember what kind of pokemon it was I kept my distant for now, intent to observe the other prehistoric pokemon enjoying their lives together.

While we were here, i encountered N again. The Zorua seemed more curious than hostile this time, but he and his friends still attacked. It seemed like he was testing me, regardless the battle was two on two, but after practice against the pan-monkeys my allies and i were able to handle it. N left with his friends after his defeat, only stopping to look back at us once. I wondered what was going on in his head.

We went and found a place to train in order to get past the fierce guardian. If it were anything like the last one, it would probably have friends and be a tough fight.

---outside Pinwheel forest---

We trained just outside of the pokemon village, where we encountered a charmander, though they appeared closer in appearance to an actual flaming raptor than the cuddly charmanders of my age. I instantly wanted to add it to my team, he would make a great balanced addition.

I challenged the charmander to battle, we would show him that we were serious about him joining us. The charmander took a long time to decide, but eventually yielded after consuming three of my nuts (now i only had 10 wet looking ones that didn't seem appetizing at all). I named my new ally Deinonychus *Deino (after Deinonychus Antihorrpus, the 'terrible claw' Raptor species). We began training together, working out how to incorporate Deino's skills into our teamwork. During the training Deino evolved into an even fiercer looking creature.

Decided to challenge the fierce enemy back in the Pokevillage. Its name suddenly popped back into my head, it was called a Watchog! As expected, the Watchog also brought its friends to battle, but unlike the last guardians, this was a 2 vs 2 battle. Deino's dragon rage was incredibly useful, combined with Pheo's tricky leech seed and mega drains, but eventually Dieno got knocked out (although Pheo stubbornly refused to faint until watchog himself entered the battle), thankfully they had cleared more than half of the opponents off of the field, It was all looking set to be a win, but Watchog himself was a lot tougher than his friends, and had a mean super fang! He single-handedly took out
3 of my friends. We returned to the training grounds to work on new tactics and lick our wounds.

The second time we fought the Watchog, it was another extremely close battle. In the end Sarcosuchus managed to become the last mon' standing at 3hp. Instead of fleeing like the pan-pokemon, watchog bowed its head in defeat and respectfully stepped aside. with its approval apparently earned i collected another souvenir rock from nearby before helping my friends back to the healing springs to recover.

We hadn't been there long before there was a commotion though as several sleek grovyle charged through the area with what looked like wires and scraps of metal in their claws. My time-machine! We gave chase into the deep woods, not wanting to risk losing any part of my time-machine and end up permanently stuck here.

I finally located the thief grovyle who was in posession of my machine parts and battled it, but even after defeating the tree lizard it looked ready to flee with its ill gotten goods. That was when, surprisingly, Watchog and a bug type who i assumed to be its friend showed up. That was clearly enough to intimidate the thief, as it dropped its machine parts and left empty handed. I thanked Watchog and the leavanny for its help. It looked tough and i had a feeling i would see it again. If it was friends with Watchog it was probably another guardian. (I still wasnt sure why exactly they fought against me but it was less aggressive with each i met,it felt more like they were challenging themselves against what they saw to be a strong opponent.)

With machine parts in hand i headed back to check on my time machine and see if i could figure out how to re-attach the stolen items. Part of why a license for time-travel was so hard to obtain was because you had to display an intricate knowledge of the machines inner workings for situations exactly like this....and it was something i obviously didn't have. However, thankfully, the machine itself still seemed operational. The cool-down timer was still counting down and the damage seemed merely superficial. With every-bodies help we slowly reattached the damaged parts. I double checked the countdown, it would be ready to fire up again in a day. Maybe it was time to get ready to leave. Then i noticed something important. The key was missing.

Back at the time-machine exhibit, despite operating the thing in a daze i specifically remembered turning a key after pressing all the buttons and levers. The key was no longer in the slot meaning someone had taken it. For some reason an image of N appeared in my mind. I needed to hunt down that key!

We returned to the deep woods and pushed onward, intending to hunt down N, i felt absolutely certain that he had it.

---Castelia city---

The woods finally gave way to a huge open plain with a wide river running through. We had to cross a fallen tree to get there safely. There were several pokemon getting on with their lives, whom we challenged to battle for training. With a survival of the fittest thing going on most were eager to oblige. Those that didn't fled the area. During the training Arc evolved into a fearsome looking feraligatr.

In the center of the plains was the Leavanny we met prior, just waiting for me with 5 other pokemon. its intentions clear, we bypassed it cautiously for now and explored the plains further. There was still no sign of N anywhere, though the plains did start turning into a swampy marshland the further we explored it.

Butting its head against a lone tree was a Cranidos. I felt more excited than i had when i saw the Archeops. Once again it was something i had only seen as a fossil inside a museum. Instantly i approached it, which i know was silly but i did. The pokemon startled a little at my approach, but my confidence paid off somehow when Opheodrys spoke to it as it decided to follow me without any fight or fuss. I named him Pachyseph (After the pachysephalosaurus which was the inspiration for this particular pokemon)

I returned to the plains to challenge the 3rd guardian. Though as usual we got knocked around and had to return to training.​

Decided to challenge the fierce enemy back in the Pokevillage. Its name suddenly popped back into my head, it was called a Watchog! As expected, the Watchog also brought its friends to battle, but unlike the last guardians, this was a 2 vs 2 battle. Deino's dragon rage was incredibly useful, combined with Pheo's tricky leech seed and mega drains, but eventually Dieno got knocked out (although Pheo stubbornly refused to faint until watchog himself entered the battle), thankfully they had cleared more than half of the opponents off of the field, It was all looking set to be a win, but Watchog himself was a lot tougher than his friends, and had a mean super fang! He single-handedly took out
3 of my friends. We returned to the training grounds to work on new tactics and lick our wounds.

The second time we fought the Watchog, it was another extremely close battle. In the end Sarcosuchus managed to become the last mon' standing at 3hp. Instead of fleeing like the pan-pokemon, watchog bowed its head in defeat and respectfully stepped aside. with its approval apparently earned i collected another souvenir rock from nearby before helping my friends back to the healing springs to recover.

We hadn't been there long before there was a commotion though as several sleek grovyle charged through the area with what looked like wires and scraps of metal in their claws. My time-machine! We gave chase into the deep woods, not wanting to risk losing any part of my time-machine and end up permanently stuck here.

I finally located the thief grovyle who was in posession of my machine parts and battled it, but even after defeating the tree lizard it looked ready to flee with its ill gotten goods. That was when, surprisingly, Watchog and a bug type who i assumed to be its friend showed up. That was clearly enough to intimidate the thief, as it dropped its machine parts and left empty handed. I thanked Watchog and the leavanny for its help. It looked tough and i had a feeling i would see it again. If it was friends with Watchog it was probably another guardian. (I still wasnt sure why exactly they fought against me but it was less aggressive with each i met,it felt more like they were challenging themselves against what they saw to be a strong opponent.)

With machine parts in hand i headed back to check on my time machine and see if i could figure out how to re-attach the stolen items. Part of why a license for time-travel was so hard to obtain was because you had to display an intricate knowledge of the machines inner workings for situations exactly like this....and it was something i obviously didn't have. However, thankfully, the machine itself still seemed operational. The cool-down timer was still counting down and the damage seemed merely superficial. With every-bodies help we slowly reattached the damaged parts. I double checked the countdown, it would be ready to fire up again in a day. Maybe it was time to get ready to leave. Then i noticed something important. The key was missing.

Back at the time-machine exhibit, despite operating the thing in a daze i specifically remembered turning a key after pressing all the buttons and levers. The key was no longer in the slot meaning someone had taken it. For some reason an image of N appeared in my mind. I needed to hunt down that key!

We returned to the deep woods and pushed onward, intending to hunt down N, i felt absolutely certain that he had it.

---Castelia city---

The woods finally gave way to a huge open plain with a wide river running through. We had to cross a fallen tree to get there safely. There were several pokemon getting on with their lives, whom we challenged to battle for training. With a survival of the fittest thing going on most were eager to oblige. Those that didn't fled the area. During the training Arc evolved into a fearsome looking feraligatr.

In the center of the plains was the Leavanny we met prior, just waiting for me with 5 other pokemon. its intentions clear, we bypassed it cautiously for now and explored the plains further. There was still no sign of N anywhere, though the plains did start turning into a swampy marshland the further we explored it.

Butting its head against a lone tree was a Cranidos. I felt more excited than i had when i saw the Archeops. Once again it was something i had only seen as a fossil inside a museum. Instantly i approached it, which i know was silly but i did. The pokemon startled a little at my approach, but my confidence paid off somehow when Opheodrys spoke to it as it decided to follow me without any fight or fuss. I named him Pachyseph (After the pachysephalosaurus which was the inspiration for this particular pokemon)

I returned to the plains to challenge the 3rd guardian. Though as usual we got knocked around and had to return to training.​

CHAPTER 18 - Battle continues

OCC: I decided to focus on Get Together in the past few weeks and when it ended, I was kinda demotivated to play Pok?mon. But I have small update for my Industrial Era run.

After we captured Oreburgh City, we were lucky and got another cities without almost any fighting. Gardenia, Gym Leader of Eterna City had no chance against my burning legion. Solaceon surrendered without fighting...
We got up to the Veilstone, where one of the strongest warriors reside. Their leader, Maylene prepared for us and the city's entrances were closed. And so started the Siege of Veilstone...

CHAPTER 19 - Iron Ally

We had no time to lose so I decided to challenge Maylene to honorable duel for the city, but she instead attacked us with her full force. And lost. Veilstone is ours. Our small revolution was going great so far.
We were able to get up to Canalave City and heard about Iron Island from local sailors. It's strategic place full of industrial iron. If we could captured it, we could take control over whole region just like that.
And so I and Gladion paid one of the sailers to get us there. There was huge cave on the island. The moment we stepped in, huge explosion shaked the whole place. The entrance was blocked with stones.
Out of nowhere, dozens of soldiers appeared and we were forced to battle them. We couldn't face their superiority in numbers. We thought it's over, when Lucario appeared and started beating everyone down. It belonged to the Riley, kid worker from Canalave, who was followed us to the Iron Island. After the cave was clear, he decided to join our cause and helped us get back to Canalave.
Riley challenged his (former) master Byron to battle for the local Gym. After long battle, Riley was about to lose, but Gladion and I interfered and attacked Byron from behind.
Now, the harbor city was ours.
That same day, we got message from Lillie, that she'll arrive there soon with reinforcements...

It took us a total of 3 attempts before we were able to out maneuver the guardian Leavanny, Arc and Cal were the only casualties and it was only possible due to Deino getting in a good amount of lucky critical hits with Flame burst (also the use of what few healing items i could find laying around) after the second defeat my allies and i had decided that our best chance would be to rally around Deino and if necessary act as cannon fodder in order for him to burn through the enemy. Not a tactic i'd like to use again but this time it got the job done.

Leavanny nodded to me and handed me an intricately woven leaf(it almost looked like a delicate wing). It was beautiful and reminded me that Leavanny were known to enjoy making their own 'clothes.' I accepted the leaf as my 3rd souvenir.

As we returned to the marshland a dewott approached with a munna following close behind. It took me a moment to realize that the pokemon before me was Bianca! The usually quiet Bianca had been training and gaining allies and finally felt ready to challenge us to battle again. I was determined to show her that it wasn't going to go her way this time. In this 2 v 2 battle we were easily able to overpower her and her allies (Though Vespa got one shot and Pachyseph took a lot of damage). Fighting the guardians seemed to be great training!

---Route 4---

Battled Cheren, who had also evolved. he had gotten tough incredibly tough very quickly and we struggled to bring him and his allies down. eventually pulled it off but had massive casualties. Decided my team needed even more variety to get by, and i didn't want to hurt Cal's feelings but he was becoming a bit of a liability. I didn't want to break the unspoken 6 pokemon rule, so i asked Cal if he wouldn't mind taking a break. He could go where and wanted and do what he wanted, if i ever needed him I'd whistle. He seemed a bit confused but went off on his own way regardless. Guess these guys aren't too fussed about traveling with me after all.

After that i befriended Tomistoma *AKA Tom* the Sandile (after Tomistoma Schlegelii the 'False Gharial') he had been chilling in the mud of the marshland and didn't take much convincing.

Pachyseph Evolved into a Rampardos while training our new ally Tom. And Pheo into Serperior

---Desert Resort and Relic Castle---

OOC: dont have much to say for these areas. Tom evolved here, as did Deino. But other than that dont feel like my marshland would have much here yet so we just trained here.

---Nimbasa City---

The marshland eventually petered out into more rocky terrain. N was waiting, a few of the thief grovyl behind him. We spent a long time staring at each other. I dont know what he was looking for, but i was searching for the tell-tell glint of my key. Suddenly N entered battle stance, and the glint of something metallic shone from underneath the fur on the back of its neck. The grovyl left as the battle started, but N's other friends crawled out of seemingly nowhere.

Despite being defeated, N had a fire in his eyes, he evolved into a Zoroark right in front of me. Now finally eye level he approached until we were nose to nose as if trying to tell me something. Then suddenly N grinned, produced my key in his claws before dashing off taunting me with his stolen goods as he ran.

Suddenly the air was filled with static electricity. I whipped my head around looking for the source. Six pokemon stood on the horizon, the energy coming off of the smallest one told me it was a guardian. The menacing glare i felt being sent my way also suggested that it had seen my battle with N and was not happy with the result. Guess they were one of his friends. With its warning heard loud and clear,
I was careful to keep a good distance between us until i felt ready to challenge the aggressor.

OOC: Grinding montage, though i hate grinding so after picking at this for maybe half an hour a day, got bored and challenged gym

We challenged Guardian Emolga to a heated battle, it was a 1v1 for a nice change of pace, though it didnt make the battle any easier. The opponents had excellent teamwork and utilized a lot of volt switches to tag in and out of. Seph and Vespa fell in battle, but overall we had a better time with the 4th guardian than we had the last 3. Defeating our foe on the first try was proof enough of that. Tom
evolved too so that was an added bonus.

Defeated, the Emolga panicked and fled. Lightning from the fight had burned its image onto some fragmented stone, i took it as souvenir for myself.

We rested at the spring, and were just about to move on to find N when Cheren challenged me again(he had evolved to his final form like Pheo). He was starting to seem desperate to win like he had at the beginning. We weren't going to let him, and he seemed to be growing more and more frustrated with each loss. After we all rested, i asked Cheren if he had seen N, he seemed thoughtful before indicating for us to follow him over the isthmus. The tide had been too high to cross back when we were training, but the land bridge was now accessible to all.

Pheo seemed to enjoy being able to travel with his old friend for a while. I'd have loved to being to relax like the rest of my friends but the thought of not being able to return home without that key kept me feeling too tense. Or perhaps the tense feeling in my shoulders was the result of the chill that was slowly settling in the further over the isthmus we got. Standing on the other side was a very large Excadrill (though unlike those back home, this one was covered in scales, and instead of steel coming from its head, it was rock filled with ore). It glared down at us with complete disdain before snorting and leaving. That somehow got Cheren riled up because he charged off all by himself completely forgetting about us.

---Driftveil City---

A gentle snowfall began to drift down from the skies as we began our search for clues about Zoroark, it explained the chill; though i couldn't tell if such weather was common for this area or if winter was approaching. I hoped it was the former, i really didn't want to end up stuck here over winter in my summer get-up. I'd freeze to death.

Without cheren's guidance my team and i were forced to split up in the hopes of finding tracks, hairs, anything really. The way forward wasn't massively obvious, the terrain was rocky and winding, with a fast flowing stream cutting through a lot of it.

Eventually, seemingly sick of us hanging around his territory, the large Excadrill sauntered over with the same look of disdain on his face that he had earlier. I barely had a chance to call for my friends as Excadrill lunged at me, i only just managed to stumble out of the way before Arc's menacing bulk appeared in front of me. He locked Excadrill into a grappling match as Deino helped me up. Realizing he had lost his chance, Excadrill managed to break the grapple and gain some distance. He yelled loudly and five other pokemon crawled out of the ground. I had no idea what N had told this guy (for who else could be behind this) but it seemed we had no choice but to engage the guardian.

It was a long exhausting battle but eventually the terrifying opponent was defeated. Excadrill's expression turned into a grin, despite his injury's he got up, tossed me a piece of shiny ore from his rocky hat before indicating for us to follow.

OOC: Excadrill was a brutal opponant. swords dance, earthquake, rock slide and x-scissor made him an expert in dismantling my team. despite owning 3 of his weaknesses we were ALL slower than him. Times defeated here: 4 ---on a side note, my partner noticed that Seph had god-awful stats(and moves) for a supposedly attack based pokemon and asked why i wasn't using one of the other 8 fossils i had in my inventory....hate to admit but he's raised an excellent point so ive backtracked to revive one. XD

I noticed Pachyseph was starting to show some reluctance to continue, he looked tired and incredibly uncomfortable with the increasing snowy weather. I allowed him to leave for climates more comfortable for him and like Cal, told him i'd whistle if he was in the area and i needed him. Thankfully i wasn't left a team member short for long, as we began to follow Excadrill to a mystery destination (his sudden mood turn about was a little unsettling) a young tirtouga slowly approached us from the direction of the river. Apparently she (yes, my first female companion!) had been watching our battle and was interested in joining us. I named her Archelon (After the extinct Ruler turtle, said to be the largest genus ever recorded) and begun her training right away.

CHAPTER 20 - The Story Continues

I've met with Lillie in the library few hours after the battle. She wanted to find something about some weird time-bending Pok?mon. Yeah, she's weirdo.
While there, I found a book about Red. Same book my mum used to read me before sleep. And because this story needs to be pushed a little bit, I decided to tell this story to Lillie...

The Industrial Era in Pok?mon Fire Red

CHAPTER 21 - Red's story

To understand what Red means for me, you have to hear his story. He was kid worker just like me. But this was years before industrial revolution. He helped his mother to create company that took over the whole Kanto. He beat any competition that appeared, be it Gym Leader or thiefs... He even challenged legendary managers of Indigo Plateau and won! And he did it with only 2 Pok?mon! But then, the industrial revolution came and Red became uncomfortable the for big companies. So they exiled him to Mt. Silver, where I later found him and beat him. Which granted me fame and glory... And I became target for the big companies and got exiled to Alola. Wait... Am I the new Red? Like Fire Red?

When I finished the story, Lillie was speechless. We stared at each other, locked in the moment. But because this story needs more pushing forward, we were like this until Gladion rushed inside, followed by other soldiers. There were cheers comming from the city. Apparently, while I was busy retelling the story of Red, everyone else fought and won this war. Sinnoh was ours.

I don't know how they did it, but they were able to beat all of the remaining Gym Leaders. What a bummer. I wanted to be hero of this story too.

Cheers suddenly ended. I looked out of the window and saw a woman standing outside. Our soldiers were standing in the circle around her. Some of them fainted.

ZEMAN! This arc needs one final fight, so let's battle! She said. And so we fought. She really wanted to show me that she's strong, because she used same Pok?mon as I did. But mine were still stronger, better and faster. And it ended with Bibarel bitting her Spiritomb.

Steven told me you're strong. Enjoy your prize. She said after the battle and walked away. Steven... I hate that guy!

When she's disappeared, I returned to Lillie and Gladion to plan our next move.

Going to go in order and start with Ice Age, then Stone, Bronze, Ancient Egypt, Ancient India, Ancient Rome, Renaissance, Industrial, Mobster and Apocalyptic before finishing with Time Rift. Hence, my first signup for the longest time:

Well Ice Age is complete and it was interesting early on to say the least since I couldn't utilize anyone from my planned team until after defeating Brock. I mean sure Spearow was available early but I couldn't use him for anything until after I defeat Lt.Surge so basically he was a spectator for the bulk of the early game. Here's how the Gym Leaders went down:

Brock: Defeated him using Pikachu because I had no choice(no one from my team is available or allowed yet). Caught Sandshrew and Magikarp at Mount Moon and grinded a ton afterwards. Got Dome Fossil for Kabuto later on in the game.

Misty: Gyarados is a beast, plain and simple. Crushed rival and kept steamrolling through S.S. Anne with Gyarados and Sandshrew. Taught Dig and Cut to Sandshrew.

Lt.Surge: OHKO with Sandshrew. Spearow joins the team(finally) and I roll through Rock Tunnel with Gyarados and Sandshrew leading the way. I opted to do Rocket Game Corner first so Spearow could gain a bit of Experience.

Erika: Drill Peck + Grass Types = Easy win. Spearow evolved into Fearow prior to the battle so made the outcome all the more one-sided. Went to Pokemon Tower where Sandshrew's Dig crushed the Ghost Pokemon. Got Super Rod and caught Staryu at edge of Route 19 and got Lapras after breezing through Silph. Grinded everyone to level 48, turning Lapras into Ice Specialist, evolving Staryu into Starmie and turning him into Psychic Specialist.

Koga: Could have used either Starmie or Fearow in dealing with his Pokemon. His Venonats have stronger Physical Defense than Special but Venomoth has better Special Defense. I opted to go with Starmie since he could use the experience. Swept with OHKO's with STAB Psychic. Having defeated Silph already, Sabrina was next.

Sabrina: Rolled through her with Gyarados. Hyper Beam and OHKO's go hand in hand and abusing KO perk on Hyper Beam is another plus. Gyarados and Fearow roll through the Seafoam islands while Starmie helped crush Cinnabar Mansion.

Blaine: Used Lapras to sweep him. Worked my way to Viridian where I rolled again.

Giovanni: Starmie rolls after outspeeding every Pokemon he had.

Lorelei: Kabutops finally comes into play here with Rock besting Ice.

Bruno: Combination of Lapras and Fearow here.

Agatha: Starmie sweep.

Lance: Lapras sweep.

Blue: Gyarados sweep through first five, Sandslash to finish Jolteon.

MVP of run: Gyarados because 580 base stats = quasi-legendary.

So, one thing that I noticed about Ancient Greece is that for Unova, it requires you to have Durant. HOWEVER, in BW, you can't get it until the very end of the game, and in B2W2 you can't get it until the post-game. That's a problem because I wanted to do the latter for Ancient Greece but eh. Not sure if that's an oversight or something.

Also I finished Pirate Golden Age on Platinum months ago but did the documented adventure somewhere else. Quick summary:

Spoiler:

Named myself Jack, because, y'know, Captain Jack Sparrow. Fits this perfectly. Anyway...

Roark: I began with Interceptor (Piplup) against Geodude, and OHKO'd it with Bubble, and he reached Level 13. Onix was faster, got in a Screech and barely lived a Bubble, but he wasted his Potion and was KO'd, and I reached Level 14. Cranidos was last, and I let Hyacinth (Psyduck) get OHKO'd with Headbutt. I used Interceptor again, and took exactly half from Headbutt, but I got in the Growl. I got in a second Growl before he finished me on the third hit. I then used Edelweiss (Machop), and -1 Headbutt did 1/5 my health while Karate Chop did plenty over half. After a flinch, I then finished him for the win.

Gardenia: I led with Gummi (Drifloon) against Turtwig, and got in two Minimizes as she set up Reflect and then hit with Razor Leaf for less than 1/4. I used a third Minimize and then she missed. Gust did almost half to her, but she hit with Razor Leaf again, yet I still had over half my health left. Not wanting to get her into Overgrow range, I used Astonish, but it scored a critical hit and got her just short of healing range before she used Sunny Day, and then the Reflect wore off. She didn't heal, and Gust finished her. Cherrim was next, and because of sunlight it transformed. Then it had Magical Leaf, which said screw you to my Minimizes and did half my health with a critical hit, while my Gust understandably didn't do much at all. I let Toffee (Buizel) get sacked off to a Magical Leaf. Now it was up to Licorice (Golbat), and she used…Leech Seed. But I thankfully hit with Screech before the sunlight faded and she wasn't in Overcast form anymore. Leech Seed did 7 HP to me, and Grass Knot did 6 and Wing Attack on -2 got the OHKO. Roserade was last, and I sacked off Dahlia (Bidoof) to get rid of the Leech Seed. Edelweiss was OHKO'd. It was down to just Interceptor and Licorice. I brought the latter back in and unfortunately missed with Screech twice, and she paralyzed me, but I managed to hit with the third usage of Screech, get through paralysis and get the OHKO with Wing Attack when I was one turn away from Licorice fainting.

Fantina: Interceptor's BubbleBeam did less than half to Duskull as she used Future Sight, then I used Metal Claw as to keep her out of healing range before she burned me. After a Shadow Sneak for a light hit, another BubbleBeam finished her, then Future Sight brought me below half. Mismagius was next, and finished me immediately. I brought in Licorice and used Screech, and she went for Confuse Ray. So I sacked off Edelweiss to a Psybeam. I brought in Licorice again and used Screech once more, as she then used Psybeam for literally ONE POINT short of half despite a four level advantage. Bite got the OHKO. Haunter was last and Bite did pretty good. Shadow Claw did over half my remaining health, but I finished her with one more Bite for the win.

Maylene: I started with Interceptor against Meditite, and Fake Out hit for almost 1/4, and Drain Punch did over half my remaining health, but got me into Torrent range, but even then BubbleBeam couldn't get the OHKO. Licorice came in and ate up a Drain Punch before finishing it with Wing Attack. For Machoke, I stayed in only to miss with Screech, and Rock Tomb did just short of half my remaining health. I hit this time, and Rock Tomb then killed me. That was absolutely a min/max damage roll. So I tried Toffee, but even with -2, Aqua Jet was only looking at a 3HKO. Rock Tomb did 1/4, but thankfully her second one missed and I finished it. Lucario was last, and I switched Cheesecake (Gligar) into a Force Palm for 1/5, then Metal Claw did less than half my remaining health and I was able to get in a Screech. Two, in fact, after she left me with 7 HP. I switched to Toffee again, and after a slightly stronger than expected Metal Claw, Aqua Jet did just enough for a 2HKO, but Force Palm KO'd. I brought in Edelweiss, and Force Palm did over half and got the paralysis, but I hit through it with Revenge for the win. And Edelweiss grew to Level 28 and evolved into Machoke.

Crasher Wake: I began with Edelweiss against Gyarados, and he got in the Intimidate. His Waterfall did 2/3 and caused me to flinch. Then a Brine finished me. I had to bring in Cheesecake, and Thunder Fang… OHKO'd with a critical hit! Alright, I'll take that! Floatzel was next, though, and I brought in Interceptor, who took an Ice Fang for 1/4. Crunch then did over half my remaining health as I got in a Growl, then he finished me. I then brought in Deadpool (Croagunk), and Brine failed because of Dry Skin, but because of that, Revenge barely did anything. And… HE USED BRINE AGAIN. Revenge barely did anything still, but I was astounded. HE DID IT A THIRD TIME. Revenge got him to his Sitrus Berry. …Make that four times. And five. And six. Then he was in healing range, so I switched out for Licorice as he used his Hyper Potion. Ice Fang did over half, but I was able to get in a Screech to half his Defense. He then finished me with Brine again. I then brought in Croagunk again, and yet he still used Brine again. Revenge did 1/3. He did it again. And again. And after the third turn, he was finished. Quagsire was last, and Gadolinium (Tropius) finished that with ease, even though Razor Leaf only did a little over half.

Byron: I began with Interceptor against Magneton, because I thought he led with Steelix. And he had Magnet Pull, preventing me from switching out. Thunderbolt got me to 6 HP, and with that Surf got the OHKO thanks to Torrent. Steelix was promptly slammed with another Surf, and Bastiodon was last. I used Surf, which OHKO'd with a crit. Not bad!

Candice: I began with Deadpool against Sneasel, and as she started with an Aerial Ace that did slightly less than half, Revenge got the OHKO. Piloswine was next, and for that I switched in for Gadolinium, who caused her Earthquake to fail, and then over to Interceptor, who ate up her Avalanche. Yum yum! Surf then got the OHKO. Abomasnow was next and got up Snow Warning, and I switched over to Cheesecake, who took a Focus Blast for 1/4… And then I realized I don't have Screech. Aerial Ace did less than half before her Avalanche slaughtered me. I then brought in 6th Sense (Dusclops), and she used Wood Hammer for 2/3 and some recoil bringing her to half, and then Fire Punch did her in. After hail got me near 1/4, Froslass came last. I chose to stay in and use Shadow Sneak for 1/4 before she used Blizzard and finished me. Then it was Kamek (Weavile)'s turn. She used Double Team… And I had Faint Attack to say screw you to all of that. She lived in the red, and her Sitrus Berry propped her up, however. Blizzard did a little less than half, and another Faint Attack won me the battle.

Final battle against Cyrus: Houndoom started with a Flamethrower that did slightly less than half to Interceptor but got the burn. At least Surf got the OHKO. Gyarados I then sacked off Gadolinium to, then 6th Sense flinched with Waterfall but had the Sitrus Berry backing, only for ThunderPunch to do 2/3. Cheesecake's Thunder Fang finished that. Unfortunately, Interceptor was barely finished off thanks to burn, but Deadpool survived and was able to OHKO with Revenge. Poison Jab did less than half to Honchkrow, but it got the poisoning before he finished me with Psychic. Kamek finished him with Ice Punch, but then it was Crobat time. He started with Toxic, and my Ice Punch…OHKO'd him with a critical hit for the win!!! Deadpool and Interceptor handled Giratina.

Volkner: I began with Kamek against Jolteon, and I opened with a Screech to half his Defense. But he responded with a Thunder Wave, and Iron Tail did 2/3 before Ice Punch got the OHKO. Raichu promptly finished me with Signal Beam, though. I used Deadpool, who took a Charge Beam for just short of 1/3 and him boosting his Sp Atk. Revenge left him with 1 HP and got me on the end of Static. He healed, but Poison Jab did over half. The next Charge Beam scored a critical hit to finish me and got another boost. I went for 6th Sense, and his Charge Beam did over 1/3 and got another boost, but Shadow Punch finished him. Luxray came after, and I got the Quick Claw, which allowed me to use Will-o-Wisp, which hit and saved 6th Sense from being finished with Crunch, which did 2/3 my remaining health. I got in a quick Shadow Sneak before he…missed with Thunder Fang? Sure! I used another, and then he used Fire Fang, which I survived with 1 HP. Okay, he's entered total derp mode here. I used another Shadow Sneak, and he used Crunch this time, which finished me, but burn damage did him in. He had just Electivire remaining, and I used Cheesecake. He used Fire Punch for over 1/4, but I went first next turn and used Dig for the OHKO and the win.

Final battle against Gibbs (rival): Kamek bested Staraptor thanks to Cheesecake absorbing a Close Combat on the switch-in, allowing him to return in on an Aerial Ace for half and OHKO with Ice Punch. Cheesecake slammed Heracross with Aerial Ace after I unknowingly switched Gadolinium into a missed Rock Slide. Deadpool took two Ice Fangs from Floatzel before OHKO'ing with a crit Black Belt boosted Revenge. Torterra took less than half from Gadolinium's Air Slash and got a Defense drop on the first usage of Crunch, leaving Kamek to slam him with an Ice Punch. Rapidash took a moderate hit from 6th Sense's Shadow Punch and Fire Blast did alright, but then he switched in Snorlax and I was able to get in a Will-o-Wisp, then Kamek got in a Screech before peacing out. Deadpool easily finished him with Revenge, and Interceptor took Rapidash from there despite a paralysis on the switch-in. With that, he hoped that I wouldn't lose to anyone else first, and sped off.

How training went: Interceptor was perhaps the easiest to train up. Victory Road made for fast and easy EXP between all the Ground-types (especially Steelix) and Magneton. For Cheesecake, I did quite a bit of her training off of Pokemon Ranger Taylor on Route 212. Carnivine + Luxray = easy 3456 EXP for her. The last three levels were mooching some Defense and Sp Def EVs off of Tentacruel and Pelipper on Route 223. 6th Sense I did some in Victory Road and a little bit off of Pokemon Ranger Allison, also on Route 212. For his last two levels though, I took him to Iron Island for a bit of last minute Defense EV training, and then some Quagsire and Shellos on Route 212 for a bit of HP. Gadolinium wasn't very fun to get trained up, but I was able to get some out of the Ground-types in Victory Road. Ace Trainer Maya on Route 210 was another help there. Kamek I got most of the EXP for off of Ace Trainer Dennis on Route 210. Then I slapped on some Attack Evs to finish up with him. Deadpool was helped some by the Water-types right outside the Pokemon League and Route 223, with a little bit elsewhere. Additionally, while everyone was Level 55 except Gadolinium and Deadpool, who were 53 and 52 respectively, as Cheesecake reached the point, I noticed she, and my entire team, had Pokerus! But that aside...

Aaron: I began with Interceptor against Yanmega, and as he used Double Team, I started the battle with Stealth Rock to discourage his switch-outs. But he gained a Speed Boost. He used Double Team again as I tried to hit with Surf, to no success. He used another Double Team and avoided another Surf. I used Aqua Jet… And THAT hit, yeah sure, for not much at all, and his Bug Buzz did less than 1/5 my health. He used another Bug Buzz, and I was out over 1/3, but I hit with Surf for the finishing. Not bad.
Heracross was next, predictably. I switched out for Gadolinium as he used Close Combat, which did narrowly over 1/4 and lowered his Defenses. He had Stone Edge, which hit, sure enough, and I survived it in the red and got in the Air Slash for the OHKO.
Vespiquen was next, which took over half its health from Stealth Rock (!!!), haha. I opted to stay in and use Air Slash, which finished him.
Drapion was next, and that was unfortunately where her streak came to an end, as Ice Fang finished her. I brought in Interceptor again, and took a pathetic X-Scissor before Surf (after Stealth Rock) got him to his Sitrus Berry. Another laughable X-Scissor preceded being finished with Surf.
Last was Scizor. I chose to stay in for that, and I was faster, interestingly, and Surf (backed with the Mystic Water) got him to 1 HP, though his X-Scissor got me into the red. He used a meaningless Full Restore as Surf with Torrent got the OHKO.

Bertha: I started with Gadolinium against Whiscash, and…she was faster than me, to my unpleasant surprise. Thankfully her Zen Headbutt did not even a full 1/6, and my Air Slash (which I used because I know Whiscash is light) scored a critical hit for 2/3. I then readied Grass Knot…
AND SHE SWITCHED OUT FOR RHYPERIOR!!! I swear, I did NOT bank on that. Anyway, Grass Knot got the OHKO with no problem.
Then we had Gliscor. For that, I brought in Kamek, who avoided an Ice Fang and proceeded to slam her with an Ice Punch.
Golem was next in line. Knowing she had Brick Break, I switched, but wanted to give Deadpool a chance. And yet she used Sandstorm. I hit with Focus Blast, though, and with the Black Belt…got her to 1 HP?!?! She then used Earthquake and KO'd me after Sandstorm. Not a good sign. I brought in Gadolinium again, and she healed, so I took that turn to use Grass Knot, which got the OHKO. The sandstorm raged and Gadolinium took another hit.
Whiscash came back out and used another Zen Headbutt to get me below 2/3, but I didn't flinch and finished her with Grass Knot.
Hippowdon was last, and her Sand Stream made the sandstorm permanent. Knowing a Stone Edge was coming my way, I swapped out for Interceptor… And I was right, she did indeed use Stone Edge, but it was pretty weak. I used Surf, and it had the Mystic Water backing, so it's no surprise that it got the OHKO. With that, the battle was done.

Flint: I decided to open with Interceptor against Houndoom, and he started with…Flamethrower, to my surprise. I thought for sure he would go with Sunny Day! And he did over 1/3 my health, but I got in the Stealth Rock to chip some off for his later team members. THEN he used Sunny Day. And even with that, Surf still got him to healing range. He healed, and Surf got him into the red this time. He didn't heal a second time, so I was right to use Aqua Jet, which finished him and got Interceptor to Level 56.
Infernape came after, and took a bit of Stealth Rock damage, but I decided to stay in and use Protect to block his Flare Blitz and stall the sunlight out a little. I decided to let Gadolinium bite the bullet to a Flare Blitz, which got the OHKO but recoil brought him to half before the sunlight faded. It was finally Cheesecake's time… Except he was faster! And Flare Blitz did almost half my health, but Aerial Ace allowed me to finish him off.
Then we had Magmortar, who took some Stealth Rock damage. I chose to stay in and use Earthquake, which finished him thanks to that.
And Flareon came next up. After some Stealth Rock damage, I went for Stone Edge just to be different, and a probably unneeded critical hit took care of him.
Lastly was Rapidash. After some Stealth Rock damage, Earthquake got the KO, with another critical hit just to show off.

Lucian: First try I started by easily besting that Mr. Mime, but then Gallade somehow predicted my switch to 6th Sense with Stone Edge and that was not a good thing. I wanted this to carry through on a good note.
I began with Kamek against Mr. Mime, and opened with the Night Slash, which, because this is not a 3DS game, got an easy OHKO.
Then we had Gallade. After considering my options, I decided to stay in and use Screech, and he once again predicted the Stone Edge, which got the OHKO without a crit. Huh. Anyway, I brought in 6th Sense, who took a Psycho Cut for a little less than half and proceeded to OHKO with Shadow Punch thanks to the Screech.
Espeon was next. Afraid to stay in thanks to Shadow Ball, I switched out for Interceptor. And I was right, he did indeed use Shadow Ball, which barely did anything. So I could have stayed in with 6th Sense, but I didn't want to take any chances. Anyway, he used Psychic, which scored a critical hit for half my remaining health, as I used Surf to get him just short of healing range. He used another Psychic, and I was in the red, and he got a Special Defense drop, but Surf finished him.
And then we had Alakazam, and I used an Aqua Jet for half before he finished me with Focus Blast (that would've been the funniest thing ever had he missed). I brought in Deadpool to finish him with Sucker Punch.
Lastly was Bronzong, and I kinda realized… Oh, we're kinda screwed. Nevertheless, I opted to stay in and use Focus Blast, which did half before he OHKO'd me with Psychic. I brought in 6th Sense, and got in the Will-o-Wisp before he used Psychic for narrowly over half my remaining health. Shadow Punch got him to KO range from burn, and another Psychic left me with 1 HP! Then he was finished from burn. Not bad!

Champion Cynthia!: I began with Interceptor against Spiritomb, and Surf handily did over half as she hit with Shadow Ball for over 1/6 despite resistance. I then decided to set up Stealth Rock to prepare for what was to come. I then took a Dark Pulse before finishing her with another Surf.
Then we had Garchomp, of course. She took a tiny bit of Stealth Rock damage before I used Aqua Jet for a light hit and she KO'd me with Earthquake. Then I brought in Kamek and used Ice Punch to put her to an end.
Next was Lucario, sure enough. I switched out for Deadpool, who took a Stone Edge for less than 1/4. Shadow Ball, however, did half my remaining health, but Revenge got the OHKO.
Her next one in line was Togekiss, who took 1/4 in Stealth Rock damage. I used Sucker Punch for a light hit before she finished me with Air Slash, which scored a critical hit as well, haha. I then used Cheesecake, and Stone Edge didn't quite finish her, and she used Water Pulse for LITERALLY ONE POINT SHORT of a 2HKO. She healed, and I hoped for a crit Stone Edge - which I did indeed get, but it got her into the red. I then used it again, and she didn't heal, so she was finished off.
And after that was Milotic. She took Stealth Rock damage, and I stayed in and used Earthquake to get her to half before Ice Beam finished me. I then used Gadolinium, and she used Ice Beam, but I had the Focus Sash, so I lived it with 1 HP, and then finished her with Grass Knot.
Lastly was Roserade. After some Stealth Rock, she immediately finished me with Extrasensory, but I brought in 6th Sense. I got a meaningless Quick Claw as Shadow Punch did enough for a 2HKO, and she used Energy Ball for less than half. She then used Toxic, which missed, and I proceeded to use Shadow Punch to finish her, end the battle and complete the challenge.

With that , Rowan and Cynthia took me into the final room, where we were crowned as Champions.

So, one thing that I noticed about Ancient Greece is that for Unova, it requires you to have Durant. HOWEVER, in BW, you can't get it until the very end of the game, and in B2W2 you can't get it until the post-game. That's a problem because I wanted to do the latter for Ancient Greece but eh. Not sure if that's an oversight or something.

Update #1:

-Started the game, chose the girl and named her Minerva, because, Ancient Rome, fits perfectly.
-Chose Tepig as my starter, and beat Bianca and Cheren despite the former scoring a critical hit that left me at 5 HP. After meeting with Professor Juniper, I got the Pokedex and named Tepig Odin.
-After beating three wild Pokemon on Route 1, arrived in Accumula Town, Ghetsis talked about his plans to run for president, and N questioned my relationship with Pokemon. I beat his Purrloin with four hits of Tackle.
-Mom gave me the Running Shoes, and after three trainers on Route 2 plus Bianca being super easy, and some wild Pokemon, I reached Striaton City.
-I talked to some people in the city, and learned that Fennel is apparently really not fun to put up with when angered. I also beat the trainers in the Dreamyard and got Pansage and named it Servant, just so I can use Cut.
-Taking on the Gym and two easy trainers, I then beat up a few wild Pokemon before entering the Gym, and facing the so-called best of the three brothers, Cress. Lillipup dealt two usages of Bite but was 2HKO'd by Tackle after a Tail Whip, and that got Odin to Level 15 and learned Flame Charge, which I used right off the bat against Panpour following a Work Up. It did roughly 1/4 to him, and I used Tail Whip as he got in a second Work Up. Tackle got him into healing range, and his Water Gun left me with 2 HP!!! He healed, but it was meaningless as Tackle 2HKO'd him from there. With that, I got the Trio Badge and TM83 for Work Up.
-Fennel dragged me into her house and asked me to get some Dream Mist.

Update #1:

-Started the game, chose the boy and named him Aesop.
-After the opening stuff, met with the new neighbors and chose Froakie as my starter and named it Fable. It beat Shauna's Fennekin for a level-up
-After being sent off, Serena showed us how to catch Pokemon and Shauna didn't know what her Fennekin was inside of.
-Caught a Fletchling named Phoenix. After beating a Youngster right near the forest entrance, Shauna and I entered the forest.
-Caught a Pikachu named Larxene and beat the trainers in the forest. After I was done, I remembered I could catch Pansear. So I did, a female no less, and named it Oya.
-Beat the trainers on Route 3, who weren't much to speak of.
-After arriving in Santalune City and healing, I took to Route 22 to take on those trainers. Some of them did okay damage, but I had the right type matchups and switches for them. However, one thing I do have to say that makes me not as fond of the "starter must always be in front and can't faint" rule is that it kinda gives it more EXP than it should, and I don't like that quite as much because it'll get overleveled. Although this is XY where you gain full EXP from opponents, so maybe it'll be different in another game.
-I then talked to people in Santalune, and got the Roller Skates after beating the chick in front of the Gym. Then after beating the trainers, most of which were rather easy, it was Gym Leader time! Fantastic! Viola was ready to snap it shut.
-Fable tried to paralyze Surskit twice, to no avail, as she used Water Sport followed by Quick Attack. Larxene switched into a Bubble for an okay hit and scored a crit Thunder Shock to finish her from over half. Vivillon I switched into Oya, and she used Harden twice before Incinerate did narrowly under half. She used Infestation twice and I was soon out over 1/3, and I used Lick a few times as to keep her out of healing range. It came down to me surviving Tackle with 2 HP after having 9/34, but Incinerate finished her for the win.
-So I got the Bug Badge and TM83 for Infestation, which is okay. The Gym guide suggested me to go Lumiose and show it to the professor. I'll do that next time.

Y Ancient Greece Time Warp Challenge - Update #2

So there were quite a few Pokémon I caught along the way, including a Ralts, Pancham, Bulbasaur from Sycamore, Spritzee, Electrike, and others. But I kinda didn't think to take notes and only yesterday came back to it in Cyllage after leaving it behind for two weeks, so I'll just cut to the Grant battle. As he began with Amaura, I started with Fable. I switched in Thundercat as he used Thunder Wave, but Lightning Rod absorbed it. I went for Spark, which got a light hit and the paralysis, as Rock Tomb did half on the dot. I switched in Citra and quickly regretted it, but thankfully he only used Rock Tomb for 1/5. Karate Chop finished him. Fable grew to Level 27. Tyrunt was after and I switched in Phoenix, who was met with a Stomp for a little under half. Growl lowered his Attack before Rock Tomb finished me. Burberry was up next, and he used Stomp for 16 HP before Draining Kiss did slightly under half and healed me to full. Stomp did 17 HP before I used Echoed Voice (as to keep him from healing). Bite did weak, and Draining Kiss finished him for the win. So that's how it went. Next update will be more detailed, though.

I started the game, chose the guy, named him Janus and the rival Castor. I chose Charmander and named it Wizard. After a while I found a Pikachu in Viridian Forest and named it Chuchu. Soon I was in Pewter City.

Brock: I began with Wizard against Geodude, and Ember was a 7HKO as he only used Tackle once, using Defense Curl every other turn. Then I brought in Chuchu for Onix, and lowered his Attack to -3 before being forced to switch back out to Wizard, who took a Screech. He missed with it twice more before hitting with it for 4 HP. And he missed again. But he hit after. He soon went for Bide, and the unleashed attack got me to 9 HP. He used it again, but it was too little too late. Ember got the 8HKO for the win.

Second battle against Castor: Pidgeotto was 3HKO'd by Wizard thanks to a Sand-Attack miss and on my part a critical hit, and later on it took Rattata with a crit Mega Punch OHKO. Abra and Squirtle were both taken by Chuchu.

I then took up Nugget Bridge and Route 24, where I caught an Oddish named Lure. Then there were some trainers to take, which I did, and then there was Misty.

Misty: I began with Wizard against Staryu, which was not optimal. Ember didn't do much but her Water Gun was 4HKO range. I got in another hit to leave her out over 1/3 before she scored a critical hit to leave Wizard in the red. I then switched Chuchu into a Water Gun that was in 4HKO range, and I was outed a little less than half thanks to a Tackle before finishing her in two more. Starmie was next and she used an X Defend for whatever reason and that in turn allowed me to use Thunder Wave. I then switched Lure into a Tackle that scored a critical hit for over 1/3. From there on, she didn't get fully paralyzed once, but Lure managed to survive thanks to a completely deserved miss from Tackle, and finished her after that.

Third battle against Castor: Wizard 3HKO'd Pidgeotto with Ember despite Sand-Attack causing me a miss, Lure handled Raticate thanks to Sleep Powder and Absorb spam, Kadabra was dumb and finished thanks to paralysis, and Wartortle didn't get to do anything thanks to a Thunder Shock paralysis.

After I was able to use Cut, I caught an Abra that I traded for the Mr. Mime. And then we took Lt. Surge.

Lt. Surge: I began with Wizard against Voltorb, and he used Screech followed by an X Speed, and a second Screech. Ember 3HKO'd. I then used Marcel against Pikachu, and Confusion was an easy 2HKO. As for Raichu, well, he was stupid until he was one Confusion away from defeat, where Thunderbolt finished me from 3/5. Lure finished him, though.

Fourth battle against Castor: Pidgeotto folded easily thanks to stupidity and Ember getting a burn. Marcel handled Growlithe. Wizard handled Exeggcute. Chuchu handled his last two.

First battle against Giovanni: I began with Wizard against Onix, but Lure took care of that and Rhyhorn, and poisoned Kangaskhan before Chuchu had to take over.

Then we got to Pokemon Tower, beat a few Channelers, and ghost Marowak, and Team Rocket, and got the Poke Flute. I got the Super Rod, and caught an Exeggcute in the Safari Zone named Scrambler, which I taught Psychic to as soon as I got the TM. And I got HM03 for Surf in there too. Then I caught a Poliwhirl named Dynamo. I made my way back to Lavender Town and will likely close everything out next part.

Y Ancient Greece Time Warp Challenge - Update #1

So there was much for us to deal with, including Reflection Cave, and that was where Thundercat evolved into Manectric. But before doing that, I brought back Bouquet just so I'd have a sixth slot that could fight. The trainers of death actually weren't too bad. We made it to Shalour City, and that included beating Serena, who was decent but not much worth writing home about. Then it was Gym time! The trainers took some effort but they weren't too strong overall.

As for Korrina, I began with Fable as she started with Mienfoo, and Water Pulse 2HKO'd as her Power-Up Punch was for 1/5. Hawlucha came next and Phoenix took that thanks to two hits of Aerial Ace, sandwiched in between a boosted Flying Press, dealt that in. With the Machoke I had Bouquet out for a Rock Tomb that did 1/3. She used Leer twice, but Giga Drain 2HKO'd for the win.

Serena wasn't too tough, considering I had the right matchups for her. Along the way through the trainers, Fable evolved into Greninja. And so did Citra into Pangoro and Burberry into Aromatisse thanks to trading. Soon we got to Ramos.

I began with Fable against Jumpluff, as I opened with a Smokescreen that allowed me to jump his Acrobatics. And so did Phoenix on the switch in. But then he took a hit for 1/3, and the second hit outdid it, but Aerial Ace 2HKO'd. I then let Burberry in on Gogoat, as his Take Down hit in 3HKO range but I had the Rocky Helmet. He used another, and I was in KO range of another hit, but Draining Kiss propped me out of it and he was then near 1/3 himself. I lived another hit with 4 HP and after more Rocky Helmet and recoil, Moonblast did him in. Weepinbell finished off Burberry, but Bouquet's Venoshock 2HKO'd with ease for the win.

As usual, the Power Plant was an inconvenience, but we got through it, including Pitbull and his sidekick. Much EXP was gained, and Phoenix evolved into Talonflame. Aftewards, power was restored in Lumiose and we were free to explore more. We did, and then it was Gym time. Trainers were easy work, aside from an Ampharos that decided to be a jerk. But then we had Clemont!

I began with Fable against Emolga, but immediately switched Thundercat into the incoming Volt Switch, which gave me a Sp Atk boost. He used Quick Attack for a light hit, as Charge Beam hit for roughly 2/3 and a boost. The next finished him. Heliolisk was next, and I switched Citra into a weak Quick Attack and had Leftovers. Thunderbolt scored a critical hit and got me just shy of the red, but Vital Throw easily OHKO'd. I switched Bouquet in for Magneton as he used Mirror Shot for another critical hit and half, but Leech Seed hit before he used it again and got me into the red. I used Protect to block another hit and get more Leech Seed. Giga Drain did decent before another Mirror Shot got me into the red and lowered my accuracy. But another Giga Drain hit and propped me up as he used Electric Terrain, but it was too little too late as Leech Seed finished him for the win.

So I got the Voltage Badge and TM24 for Thunderbolt, then heard Lysandre go on about some story before I was free to go about. We'll take care of things next time!
