things that are lies

Like free trials being "free" when they ask for your credit card immediately and charge you a dollar. (Look at you Youtube Premium)

what are other things that you find to be just outright dishonest

"We're hiring" signs

They might as well just say "We're lying!"

"we're hiring"
"no experience needed!"

>You need to have a decree in this and that to get the job

yeah definitely a big fat lie

When talking to a family member:

"I'll call you back later!"

Don't expect to hear back from them for at least until tomorrow or so.

The training course I took a few years ago in digital mediation.
The following list is not exhaustive.

No preparation, no anticipation ; most of it spent in a room that was not meant for this training course, several defective network sockets, and computers with admin rights (meaning we couldn't download softwares, updates, ...), regular breakdowns, defective fans in the hot summer ; nearby toilets for women closed ; rent rooms dirtier inside than they were outside, full of stains, ..., damaged curtain, doorknobs, ... malodorous shared kitchen, rotten meal in the fridge ; cafeteria with poor quality food. I had not only to pay for the rent room, but acquiring equipment to fix damages and clean stuff was on me as well.

Empty promises : Lies about special equipment being on the spot. 2 old fifteen years old computers (filled with dirt we had to clean ourselves with a noisy vaccum cleaner) with obsolete floppy disc drives.
"You will get a bus to get in the fab lab."
"Wait, no bus, but you can get there by your own means and get refund!"
"Wait, refund only if you use our cars!" (3 cars, one of them out of order... so, 8 seats, for more than ten persons).
Said fab lad turned out to be closed the first day we came. Turns out it was too small for us (6-7 persons max) ; most of the devices were defective ; a totally unhelpful owner.
We finally received special equipment at the end of the training course. "Not for you, but for next year's trainees! ... By the way, what did you think of this training course ?"

" You will get professionalization!" We had to self-train ourselves ; our coach had no training in coaching and their job was not related to digital mediation.
We learned that what some of us made (validated by the unhelpful manager) had nothing to do with digital mediation... during the training course's end test.
For said test, we had to buy some of the equipment ourselves ("No refund!") and had to move heavy and big devices ourselves into the test room as well.

"You can have catch up exams soon if needed!"
Later...
"Oh wait, we had to cancel these, due to not finding a jury!"

I could go on for a while...

Most recently, being told that yesterday was gonna be a slower than usual workday so everybody could go home on time.
Cue to me not finishing work until past 18:00, while it's been cold and raining and really windy all day and my job being outside, and it being dark outside at roughly 17:00.
