To the world, yes. But previous generations have easily showcased their stupidity to those around them, and to us through literature and photography. I think the difference between todays stupidity and the past is that it is the first generations stupidity that is wildly different because it isn't completely violent. When previous generations lynched minorities, owned slaves, invaded lands, and started plagues because they were too busy to wipe their asses no one saw it as a "ugh this new generation is hopeless" because every generations stupidity was more of the same.
