Trainers

More strategic skills in using status affecting attacks, more strategic duo battlers, and more characters that are like the ghost girl.. Crazy people are fun.

Also I would love trainers that have mini games instead of battles.. Maybe some challenge you to races with vehicle like Mario cart and your Pokemon can attack to sabotage other racers.

I would like some occasional Triple Battle trainers.

Also a romhack of XY has a double battle with both team having 12 pokemons so 6 each trainers it was great.

I know it's unlikely since most of the story campaign is single battles, but I would like to see more trainers doing triple and rotation battles again, like what 5th Gen had. I get that they wanted to showcase them since it was their debut, but in 6th Gen the only place we really see them is in battle facilities and the restaurants.

Also, more trainers who use Megas. Something that seems even more unlikely but it'd be awesome to see.

At least let the gym leaders use Mega Evolutions once you unlock it. Maybe the first 2 leaders won't get Megas but at least the 3rd and the other gyms + Elite 4 getting them.

Speaking of trainer classes, I really want to see the Sailors (specialize in Water and Fighting Pokemon) brought back because, not counting remakes we haven't had them appear for two generations now. Plus, if this new region is going to have a lot of water we need a lot of Water-specialist trainer classes.

It would be wonderful if the trainer class variety grew. I nearly squeal internally every time the new trainer classes are introduced in each generation! It's excellent for the battle style variety as well.

I can see your point, since we do get a fair share of trainer classes that are meant to showcase the unique features and environment of the region in question. I can't easily see what this new region's unique factor might be (granted, we still have no new info yet) but whatever gets introduced I'm hoping we get some decent variety.

I do hope it will turn out to be something agreeable. I wish we knew even a little more info to base our speculations on, but the creators could never be too kind to do that...

I just want more of them to be rematchable, so it'll be easier to money grind without needing to beat the Elite 4 dozens of times.

This is something Game Freak just likes being indecisive on, because we had either Vs. Seeker, Pokegear/Match Call or some facility with rematchable trainers. It's been ages since we last had Vs. Seeker so I feel like it's unlikely, but I wouldn't mind another facility like the Battle Chateau.

The Battle Chateau was great until you see that even the last matches still don't have the E4 and Champion with a full team.

If Difficulty mode would be added:

Easy - They do not use healing items at all and no Mega Evolution.

Normal - They do use Healing Item for sometime and have Mega Evolution also sometime.

Hard - Ace Trainer use Healing Items always. All trainers except Rich use Normal/Super/Hyper potions. They use Mega Evolution more often.

Intense - TBH, who the f*ck would choose this. All trainers use Full Restore. They use Mega Evolution more ballistic a** often. Overleveled Pokemon. And of course, Gamesharked Pokemon like Lance's Dragonite.

Pretty sure there will be new trainer classes as there is with each new generation. It would be nice to see some themed trainers fitting for the tropical Region such as Surfers, Lifeguards, Hula Girls ect.

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but reoccurring trainers would be cool. Not necessarily on the rival's level. RBY had a Bug Catcher after Pewter that we fought in Viridian Forest. I think having a few trainers that we battle a three or four times throughout the region would be cool. It's show we aren't the only one on a Pokemon journey. Being able to rematch other Trainers is similar, but they shouldn't be in the same spot as the last battle.

This. Mostly.

I played the hack PureWhite and the trainer where really harder than the real game. Like, the two Pikachu in a double battle with Lightningrod when you only have stuff like Caterpie.

..Okay, maybe not that hard, but more strategy.

I wish the trainer has some Pokemon we don't see often. I feel like we mostly battle the same trainers again and again.

I'd like to see different trainers show up in the same area depending on whether it's day or night. (It's Sun and Moon after all.) So, like Surfers, Beach-goers, and so on in the day and then Stargazers, Couples, and such at night.

I'd love trainer classes for Hula dancers and surfers, because perfect setting. As for older trainer classes I hope to see back, it's the Sailors, because they haven't appeared in Unova or Kalos and I feel it's time to bring them back, especially in a region with a lot of water.
