First of the Four was Sidney, who has so far always led the fight with his Mightyena. Let's see whose Mightyena is better then. Akira has been through so much training, it's time she saw the vast results of her effort.
The first move Rock Smash critically hit, and was enough to bring Mightyena's HP down by at least 85%. Mightyena used his signature move Swagger though, forcing me to once again switch out Akira for Scylla.
Sidney used Full Restore and recovered Mightyena's HP. Scylla's Surf, however was enough to bring it back down to about 5%. Mightyena, of course, used Swagger once more, forcing me to switch back to Akira yet again.
Upon switching in, Mightyena used Take Down, but Akira shrugged it off as if it merely tickled. The next Rock Smash was enough to take Mightyena out.
Sidney sent in Shiftry, probably won't be too hard for Akira the way she is now. Shiftry used a first turn, first move Fake Out, and caused Akira to flinch. However, the Fire Fang that followed after took Shiftry down by most of his HP. The retribution Leaf Blade did about half Akira's HP in damage, it quite hurt her, but she could still go on and defeated Shiftry after another Fire Fang.
Next was Sharpedo, who could probably defeat Akira who could only deal physical damage and was already weakened. I didn't want to risk it so I sent in Shido instead. Upon switching, Sharpedo used Slash and did little damage on Shido. He wasn't impressed and used Leaf Storm on Sharpedo. That was a real attack. It instantly took out Sharpedo.
Now, Sidney sent out Absol, who, too, fell instantly after taking an X-Scissor. It was enough for Shido to reach level 61!
Cacturne, who was sent out next, instantly used Spiky Shield. Shido used X-Scissor and got blocked, the spikes seemed to hurt him a little. However, the next time Shido used his signature move, Cacturne had nothing to do against it.
And so, Sidney was defeated. I feel this took hardly any effort. My Pokémon are still in good health and ready for the next battle.
To be sure though, I sprayed a Super Potion on them so they would be in mint condition for the next challenge.
I decided that, for the next battle, it would be good to have Casimira in the spot light again. I've got a good feeling and I predict we would not have too much trouble dealing with Phoebe's ghost type Pokémon.
Casimira mega evolved the moment she came out of her Pokéball as she faced Phoebe's Dusclops, and used Swords Dance. Dusclops used Confuse Ray, but Casimira's Magic Bounce bounced it right back to Dusclops, and she confused herself!
The next Night Slash defeated Dusclops, and Phoebe sent out her Sableye who used Fake Out. Casimira couldn't help but flinch and took a little damage. It was a vain effort though, since her next Stone Edge took out Sableye.
Phoebe sent out her Dusknoir, who, too, was not a match for Casimira's Night Slash, and fell after one hit. Casimira accumulated enough experience to reach level 61! Even now, my Pokémon are growing at a rapid pace.
Phoebe's Banette took a Night Slash attack that critically hit, and fell quickly. The other Banette fell in the same way, and so Phoebe was defeated with a clean sweep. Casimira only took minor damage, but nothing a Super Potion could not heal.
Glacia was next, the Ice Type trainer. Because Akira knew how to use Fire Fang, I put her in the lead against Glacia's Glalie, with whom she preferred to open.
As I suspected, Glalie took major damage from the opening Fire Fang and his health was below half now. He used Hail which pelted on Akira, but didn't seem to bother her much. Glalie used Freeze-Dry and dealt a little damage to Akira, but was defeated rapidly after another Fire Fang. Akira managed to hit level 60 after this, too!
Glacia next sent out Froslass, who was weak against Akira's Crunch attack and fainted instantly.
The next Froslass went down in the same manner. Was Glacia underestimating Akira and me?
I had a feeling her Walrein would prove more of a challenge, and I used Rock Smash to deal quite some damage, but not enough. Walrein followed up with Blizzard and dealt a lot of damage to Akira. She could still battle, but I wanted to preserve her. There's no need to wear her out excessively. I switched her out and sent Scylla onto the battlefield, to which Walrein would use Blizzard, but missed.
Scylla's Crunch was able to take out a massive chunk of Walrein's health, and only had less than 5% left. Walrein had now managed to hit Blizzard, but it only dealt minor damage to Scylla. Glacia used a Full Restore to heal her Walrein back up, but another Crunch laid waste to that effort, and Walrein was put below half HP yet again. The next Crunch proved enough to defeat Walrein. Scylla leveled up to 59 too!
Glacia's next Glalie was took Scylla's Crunch right away and was put below half HP. However, that wasn't enough to take him down and his Freeze-Dry dealt almost enough damage to defeat Scylla. It was time I switched her out too. The honour was on Casimira to land the final blow on Glalie. She mega evolved and used Night Slash, but Glalie protected himself and took no damage.
The next Night Slash was enough to defeat Glalie, and thus defeat Glacia. She had put up a good fight, but it was not enough.
Drake was next, a fearsome opponent, so I knew my Pokémon absolutely needed to be in top condition for the next battle. Sparing no expense, I healed my Pokémon until their health was completely filled up so that they would be ready.
I decided to let Casimira lead again, and see how well she would fare against Drake's Dragon Pokémon.
Up against his Altaria, I was sure Casimira would be more than up to the challenge, so I let her Mega Evolve and use Swords Dance. Altaria used a strong Moonblast, and it was enough to take Casimira below half HP, but I was sure Casimira would be able to take down Altaria, so I let her stay. Casimira used Stone Edge, but Altaria had quickly evaded the attack and used Cotton Guard to bolster her defences sharply. The next Stone Edge was almost enough to take her down, but it wasn't enough, and another Moonblast defeated Casimira.
It was time to battle it out among flying types, and I sent out Valruna, the bulkiest of the pack. I let her use Nasty Plot to increase her Sp. Atk sharply while Drake restored Altaria's health. Now,a Dark Pulse was enough to take her HP down below half, while Altaria's Moonblast barely dented my Valruna. The second Dark Pulse had almost defeated Altaria, but she still had enough energy to pull off another Moonblast - I had to commend her on her valor! However, Faint Attack was enough to defeat Altaria, and Valruna had won this battle and leveled up to 60!
Next came Kingdra who took a lot of damage from Valruna's Dark Pulse. However, Kingdra used Yawn, so to prevent Valruna from falling asleep I decided to recall her and send out Shido. Kingdra used Yawn yet again, so I recalled Shido and sent out Zweilous, who suffered another Yawn. Three Yawns in a row, that's cruel. Another switch it is then and I sent out Shido who then took a Dragon Pulse that did impressive damage, but not enough to bring Shido down to half HP. Shido used Dark Pulse, almost defeating Kingdra. While Drake was restoring Kingdra's health, I sent out Valruna who used Fly. A critical hit was enough to bring Kingdra down to half. Kingdra used Yawn yet again, so I was once more forced to switch Pokémon. Kingdra used an impressive Ice Beam that almost took out Shido, but a final Leaf Storm was enough to defeat Kingdra. From this, Zweilous leveled up to 54!
Flygon was next, so I decided to let Shido stay and see how well he would do. As I expected, a Leaf Blade almost took down Flygon, but Flamethrower took Shido out. It was time for Zweilous to enter battle. Flygon's Dragon Pulse was almost enough to take Zweilous out, but Zweilous held on and used his own Dragon Pulse to defeat Flygon.
Next up was Salamance who used Dragon Rush, but Zweilous cleverly dodged the attack and used his own Dragon Rush, which was enough to take Salamance out in one hit!
He had already done more than I could have asked of him, so I switched him out and let Valruna take on Drake's last Flygon. Flygon used Dragon Claw on Valruna, but it hardly seemed to faze her. Valruna then flew up and used Fly, which critically hit and took Flygon's HP below half. Flygon's rebuttal Rock Slide was enough to defeat Valruna, however. It was now up to Scylla to defeat Flygon. And so, Surf was enough and Drake was defeated!
Before challenging Steven, who had wiped me out completely last time I tried, I healed up my Pokémon. It was going to be a long and hard battle, but I was confident in our ability to defeat him.
This time, I decided to let Scylla take the lead against Steven's Skarmory, given as how her Surf did quite a lot of damage last time we fought.
This time, too, it dealt more than half Skarmory's HP in damage. Skarmory's Spikes scattered around the field, my team was at a disadvantage already, but another Surf was enough to swiftly take out Skarmory, leveling Scylla up to 60!
Now, Steven's Armaldo took to battle. An Earthquake was not quite enough to defeat Armaldo, however, and an X-Scissor quickly took out Scylla. I decided to pit Valruna against his Armaldo, to counter his X-Scissor. After using Nasty Plot to sharply raise her Sp. Atk, Armaldo tried another X-Scissor but failed to do much damage. I dared use another Nasty Plot before attacking, when Armaldo used another X-Scissor that brough Valruna to half HP. The next Dark Pulse was enough to defeat the weakened Armaldo.
Steven now sent in his Aggron, who suffered massive damage from Valruna's Dark Pulse, but endured due to his Sturdy ability. His Stone Edge was enough to take out Valruna, however.
It was Shido's turn to battle, and while Steven healed his Aggron, Shido used a Leaf Storm that brought Aggron back to 1 HP. Steven then used another Full Restore, but Shido couldn't keep up on the special attacks, and his Dark Pulse only dealt minor damage. The Leaf Blade that followed took his HP to about a third, and Aggron's Stone Edge brought Shido's HP down to half.
The next Leaf Blade almost defeated Aggron, but he had enough energy to pull off another Stone Edge, which almost defeated Shido. With barely enough energy, Shido used another Leaf Blade, and took out Aggron.
Now Cradily took to battle. The one that wiped my team last time. Shido's Leaf Blade almost took Cradily down to half, but his Sludge Bomb had taken out what energy Shido still had. Now, I sent in Casimira who Mega Evolved once she came out of her Poké Ball. Her Night Slash dealt heavy damage, and Cradily barely managed to stay on his feet...roots? Cradily came back with a Confuse Ray, but Casimira's Ability bounced it right back onto him. For once, things were looking up. While I expected Steven to heal his Cradily, I let Casimira use Swords Dance and sharply raise her Attack. However, Steven didn't heal and Cradily used Giga Drain to restore her HP. Casimira took a lot of damage from that, but the next Night Slash took out Cradily and leveled her up to level 62! She easily defeated Steven's Claydoll with her Night Slash.
Now Steven only had his Metagross left. It Mega Evolved once it came out of Steven's Poke Ball, but Night Slash did work and Casimira defeated him. We had won. We defeated the Champion! My team, my Pokémon. We won. We finally did it!
Shortly after my victory, May barged in and urged I listen to her advice, only to realize we were already done. Shortly after, Prof. Birch came in and congratulated me on becoming the Hoenn League Champion.
Afterwards, Steven took me to a room in the back, it was empty save for just a machine. Steven explained that this machine is used to record my name and the names of my partners who battles aside me in my triumph over the Pokémon League. I still couldn't believe we won... We had actually done it. Those were my feelings as I placed my Pokeballs on top of the machine.
