Tug o' War Pokémon edition

It was an honor to do Charizard in with my solo Pokemon of choice first in FireRed and in subsequent versions/generations, I get to do it again, and again and again. :>

Except Hoenn, I had never started out with Fire Starters and I don't like fire type in particular. If coverage is needed then Ground and Fighting are good, whereas Ghost is good neutral against most types.

There are better fire type Pokémon than Charizard which are out there, but he got popular in gen-I because Ash got him and hence got two Mega evolution. 😉

Arcanine never got popularized as his base was associated with Police 🚔, and his appearance too was minimum.

Although there might be some reasons why Pokédex had labeled him as Legendary Pokémon and had not bothered to change it even after 9th gen getting near to finish line !!

My favourite starter of each gen:
Gen 1: Venusaur, but Charizard and Blastoise are good too
Gen 2: Feraligatr
Gen 3: I love all of them, but if I had to choose, I'd choose Swampert
Gen 4: Empoleon, but Infernape comes close
Gen 5: Serperior
Gen 6: Greninja
Gen 7: Incineroar
Gen 8: Inteleon
Gen 9: Skeledirge, but Meowscarada is cool too

As for Hisui, I'm picking Hisuian Decidueye there.

Kanto: Blastoise is my favorite, but Venusaur is a solid pick I've used regularly as well.

Johto: I like all 3, but I like Meganium the most, followed by Typhlosion and then Feraligatr.

Hoenn: Swampert for the win, but I've used Blaziken a lot too.

Sinnoh: Empoleon is my starter of choice here. Torterra is nice too.

Unova: Serperior is the one I like the most. For the other 2... I've never used Samurott due to being too bland and Emboar is nice, but I'd rather have the snek.

Kalos: Delphox every time basically =P
I'm okay with the other two, but there's just no way I'm picking them over Delphox.

Alola: Primarina is the best one, but Decidueye is good too.

Galar: Rillaboom. Only starter in this trio who's final evo I like.

Paldea: Meowscarada, grass Kitty ftw. Haven't yet used the duck and I'm not a fan of the croc, even after using it.

As for Hisui... I dislike the stoner version of Typhlosion and Samurott is still bland, but with a new hat. Decidueye would be my pick there.

So yea... Only one trio where I prefer the Fire starter over the others. And two trios where it's in second.

For me, it was Charizard, Typhlosion, Swampert, Torterra, Serperior! The way the Pokémon looks is my number one criteria! ^^

Same. I didn't end up picking Grass or Waters starters mostly because of their type.
I just usually end up with those due to liking them the most of the starter trio as far their designs go.

My favorites for each gen

Gen 1: Charizard

Gen 2: Typhlosion

Gen 3: Sceptile

Gen 4: Torterra

Gen 5: Serperior

Gen 6: Greninja

Gen 7: Primarina

Gen 8: Inteleon

Gen 9: Meowscarada

I have mentioned already that I think Charizard's black as night shiny is greatness, but something else that's also fun about Charizard is that he comes in many different colors.

He used to be a purple dragon, I prefer black, but think it's interesting to observe how he has changed over the years.

The Pokemon trainer character you can play as from Smash also has alternate color skins for their pokemon. They have a Charizard, and it can be red, green, pink, yellow, white, blue or purple.

If you need any more color for Charizard he has a grey-blue costume in the Pokken mirror battles

Charizard's black is not completely black as in case of Greninja, due to which that off black with tint of red makes it look odd.

Although there are worse shiny as well, like Swampert, Walrein, Dragonite, Salamence, Scizor or any other Pokémon that become pinkish or Algae Green.

I will like to start with Venusaur, Typhlosion, Blaziken or Swampert both are great, Infernape, Samurott, Chesnaught, Rillaboom, Skeledirge.

Black shiny Pokémon are very rare, and only Rayquaza, both primal reverted Kyogre, Groudon and Greninja are the ones who show the quality of color black, unlike red-shaded-black on lizard.

Not for points here, but to tell you it's fine! You can just add or remove a point and say what you want, not limited to valid reasons to defend one of the Pokémon! ^^
For the next round, I think I will make it 10 days long instead of 15, if it is alright with you all.
