Welcome to Don't Let the Mods Say Zero!

We takin' ovah.

Oh crappers, summer season already?

I should get on my backlog.

You've got maybe 2 weeks to catch up before the new season hits.

And I've got 2 weeks to figure out what's airing this coming season that I want to watch and am ready to watch. There's a fair bit that interests me, but I'm not really ready to watch any of it.

Oh, I haven't even touched Spring season.

I've watched a heretically low amount of the animu the last few months, and all of it has been finished stuff.

Started reading Voynich Hotel though, which was fun. I should finish that. And then read the last ten or so chapters of TWGOK that I've put off for forever.

You should really get into Spring, I imagine there'll be at least two originals you'll be into. This season has some fun shows. Heck, only reason I've been talking about Gintama is because of Gintama's latest season, which took only season premiere to sell me on the show.

I'd definitely give it a look.

...

First thing to do as soon as I'm done with tomorrow's finals: watch everything I've been following this spring season. 18 different titles to blaze through omg.

Not Pokey here, obviously, but what's good from Spring that you're watching? I only added I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying! Season 2 and The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan from Spring season to my own lists and haven't bothered to figure out what else I want to watch that doesn't have a prequel I haven't watched yet.

Nisekoi:, Gintama°, Food Wars: Shokugeki no Souma, Is it Okay to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Teekyu S4 (and its spin-off), Comical Psychosomatic Medicine, and...that's it, I think. With that in mind, I started Punch Line and Arslan Senki, both of which are interesting and I might give my attention.

Of these, I'd recommend Food Wars, definitely. I can't really say who the show isn't for, but it's certainly the type of show that you'll either like or you won't, and so far it's been pretty damn entertaining (I've yet to show it to someone who doesn't end up liking it by episode 1). Teekyu has three prior seasons but, which this in mind, the episodes are even shorter than Husband's, and the whole show can be watched in...what, an hour, and hour and a half? It along with Psychosomatic are short, 5< minute shows that are actually pretty damn hilarious, albeit for very different reasons.

Dungeon's...tricky. I can easily see someone not liking this show or writing it off as a SAO-rip-off. It isn't, and though I'm behind by about 4 episodes, I've yet to stop liking the show even though I don't have the most reason to. The characters aren't the best, the plot hasn't ground itself, and the ecchi can have some really stupid framing, but...damn if it doesn't have charm. Even though the characters aren't that good, I like them. The world isn't that interesting, at the same time, the background characters are oddly detailed and it kind of tugs at the Fantasy fan in the viewer. I'd recommend it, but y'know, it could go either way.

Other than that, Nisekoi's Nisekoi, Gintama°'s absolutely fantastic, and I hear My love STORY, Sound Euphonium, and Plastic Memories are pretty good.

Oh, and of course, according to many people here, Blood Blockade Battlefront/Kekkai Sensen's really good.

If you're not going to read the LN, DanMachi's adaptation has been good alongside Shokugeki no Soma. I typically don't like anime adaptations nowadays, but they've been ok so far.

Anyway, I'm just waiting for the GATE adaptation now lol

Also, why am I so sensitive? Lol. That depiction of me never ceases to make me laugh

I think we were teasing you about your dislike of certain types of anime or something.

Bolded are stuff that I was interested in and had heard of, just never got around to them for various reasons, like the nearly-instantaneous Hestia hype making me want to back off of the Dungeon one (making it feel like people liked it solely for her), and the fact that Nisekoi and Gintama have prequels I've never seen and/or source materials I'm not wholly current with. Well, that and I just was busy right out of the gate for this season.

The rest I just simply hadn't heard of before this season was already halfway over.

Of these, I'd recommend Food Wars, definitely. I can't really say who the show isn't for, but it's certainly the type of show that you'll either like or you won't, and so far it's been pretty damn entertaining. Food Wars seemed like one that got a lot of love, but was simply outpaced for flavor of the season status because of the Hestia hype-train.

Dungeon's...tricky. I can easily see someone not liking this show or writing it off as a SAO-rip-off. Being let down by the flavor of the season hype it got has been part of what's kept me out of it.

Other than that, Nisekoi's Nisekoi, Gintama°'s absolutely fantastic, and I hear My love STORY, Sound Euphonium, and Plastic Memories are pretty good.

Two of those last three I've seen a lot of love for, but not really much either way on that last one.

Oh, and of course, according to many people here, Blood Blockade Battlefront/Kekkai Sensen's really good.

There's been a lot of hype here and in /r/anime for that one that I've seen. Seems fun, but doesn't quite up my alley in art style.

Spring, eh?

The last hour was spent reading none of you guys' posts and instead checking out the list.

The following is a complete (pointless) impression of the anime spring season of this year, by a person who has watched absolutely none of it. Using this site.

Spoiler:

Me? Dislike certain types of anime? Me? The guy who has such a low standard and am willing to watch harem muk and school SOL after all these years?

I think you mean dislike of certain anime fans ROTFL

Nah. This was over a year ago. When you said something either about liking harem shows or not liking bishounens or something. I can't remember for certain. There've been a hell of a lot of posts in DLTMS0 since then.

Then Lapras said something about Legend of the Galactic Heroes or something.

Then I posted reworded dialogue for Lapras that inspired the drawing. I think I also posted dialogue for you, but I don't remember for certain.

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shou****su - This... sure is an interesting way for the Haruhi Suzumia franchise to make a return. I'm getting Kotoura-san-vibes. Abort, abort.

Best was I can describe it is officially sanctioned fanfiction based off of Disappearance that starts out like a stumbling romantic comedy in the anime form. It's gotten a bit better as it's gone on, but I'm also biased since I discovered it in print form first and was having a lot of fun with it there. I kinda like it, but it's definitely not the same as the Haruhi series. It also feels like it botched the adaptation of the early part of the series. I'm 99% certain that certain characters that appear in episode 2 aren't actually introduced until volume 3... could be completely wrong on that, though. I waited a whole year between volumes 6 and 7 to be released in English, so my memory of the order of the happenings might be fuzzy.

Danna ga Nani o Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken 2-sure-me - Marathoning this as soon as it's done. S1 was great.

Season 2 is just as fun, in my opinion.

I did watch it, but I didn't find it particularly interesting. The best part was the drawings, because I'm very fond of the author's art.

I've never even heard of it before, so I can't nerd out about it.

EDIT: Found the MalGraphs replacement: https://graph.anime.sc/

I'm curious as to what all your stats look like. Mine are here: https://graph.anime.sc/donavannj/profile

Also, what are your achievements earned?

I've got the Romance Level 1, Slice-of-Life Level 2, the mid-range fanservice one, and the "Watched 100 Anime" one. Oh, and the top-level fanservice one is my only manga one because I've only actually completed 46 series.
