• Cleared the Safari Zone, got HM03 Surf & The Gold Teeth
• Gave the Gold Teeth to the Warden and got HM04 Strength (and a Rare Candy)
• Sweeped Rival Gary with Birdie's Drill Peck and got the Lapras
• Beat Team Rocket again
• Took down Giovanni, saved the President and got the Master Ball
• Beat all the trainers in the Saffron Gym.
• Battled & defeated Sabrina
• Saved in Saffron City

I have not dropped my Poison UMC. I'm just not quite ready to start Sapphire.

Planned team for this run is Crobat, Muk, Tentacruel, and Seviper. I'm a bit worried that Seviper's 1,640,000 EXP to 100 is going to get in the way.
Also, why does this generation's Bug/Poison type suck?

CHAPTER 7 - SNORLAX'S SUCCESS STORY

Spoiler:

Found the HM surf and taught it to snorlax.
Surfed to Cinnabar.
Went through Pokemon Mansion.
Got Secret Key.
Soloed Blaine & trainers with Snorlax's Surf.
Snorlax is now level 49.
Grinded everybody else up to level 49.
Went to Viridian.
Soloed Giovanni & trainers with Snorlax's Surf again.
Snorlax is now level 52.
Grinded everybody else up to level 52.
Grinded everybody all the way to level 55 (I mean I'm going to the Pokemon
League right?) and evolved Clefairy, finally
Beat Gary in the west
On the route to the Pokemon League I caught Ditto L40-something and grinded it up to level 55 (boxed Krabby)
Went to Victory Road and realized I needed Strength
Returned to Safari Zone, got Gold Teeth
Gave them to the Warden and got Strength
Taught Snorlax Strength
Went to Victory Road again, and got through it
I'm gonna be facing level 65's! Grinded everybody up to level 60.
Going to challenge the Pokemon League!

UPDATE:

CHAPTER 8 - THE NEW POKEMON LEAGUE CHAMPION

Spoiler:

Lorelei went down by some Drill Pecks from Fearow, however I had to use like 5 Full Restores on Fearow.
Bruno's Onixes were OHKO'd by Clefable's Bubblebeam, and his Fighting types went down from Pidgeot's Wing Attack.
Agatha's Gengars were fun to do - Ditto turned into Gengar, then used Hypnosis and Dream Eater.
I got Hypnosised a few times but I played the Poke Flute before Gengar could use Dream Eater.
I used my Gengar Ditto for Haunter also, and Raticate's Super Fang and Hyper Fang on Arbok and Golbat.
Lance was so easy. Fearow's Drill Peck, as well as Mirror Move on both Pidgeot and Fearow (dragon beats dragon!)
I OHKO'd (or 2HKO'd, in the cases of Gyarados and Alakazam) all Gary's Pokemon.
Pidgeot: Snorlax's Hyper Beam.
Rhydon: Snorlax's Surf.
Exeggutor: Fearow's Drill Peck.
Gyarados: Fearow's Drill Peck.
Alakazam: Fearow's Drill Peck.
Charizard: Clefable's Bubblebeam.
Well, Fearow's Drill Peck certainly helped me out!

Oak appeared and took me into the hall of fame. I registered my team as the new Kanto Champion!

who took out voltorb and electirke with quick attack
before falling to manetrikes shock wave
next up was ziggy
who took him down with head butt
then it was magneton who started out with sonic boom but i just tailed whiped him
ziigy fainted
go screamer!

won with a crit hit no.4 rollout barely on my 4th attempt at this gym due to magnetons steel type and in ability to heal whilst using rollout

• Took on Blaine & won!
• Saved in the Pokémon Centre

Seviper will actually level up very quickly until he hits around level 50 where it will become a lot slower!

Update II

Spoiler:

Fire UMC ~
-Arrived in Vermilion.
-Picked up Old Rod, even though it's useless for me since I only train fire Pokes. ;D
-Boarded the SS Anne.
-Had fun battling the trainers aboard the ship and picked up all the fancy smancy items on board.
-Battled my rival once again, with an over levelled Charmeleon, it was a very easy win.
-Collected my HM01 from the cut master.
-Caught 10 Pokemon so I could collect HM05, too.
-Made way through Digletts cave, caught a Diglett for a cut slave, picked up HM05, returned to Vermilion.
-Entered the gym, challenged the leader, collected my third badge.
-Left Vermilion, made my way to Rock Tunnel. Charmeleon evolved along the way. (Or earlier. I honestly cannot remember when he evolved.)
-Travelled through Rock Tunnel, arrived in Lavender Town.
-Oh, nostalgia, how I love Lavender Town's music. It brings back so many good memories of the first time I heard the eerie track.
-Caught a Vulpix.
-Trained the Vulpix a bit along the route right outside Lavender.
-Entered the tower in Lavender, battled my rival again. (there are a lot of rival battles in the first gen. seriously, does he stalk you??) Won.
-Trained my Vulpix in the tower.
-Left the tower when I got to the ghost since I currently can't go any further.
-Trained along the bridge until I ran into Snorlax.
-Arrived in Celadon, collected my Eevee.
-Purchased two fire stones. Evolved Eevee into Flareon. Gonna train Vulpix a bit more before evolving her.

Started a Dragon run on Red Version.

• Hacked in Draco the Dratini in Viridian Forest.
• Beat Brock and Misty with Wrap. Draco evolved into Dragonair on the SS Anne.
• Beat Lt. Surge with Body Slam.
• Just got to Celadon City.

Dragon Type UMC

Hi everyone, i'm gonna start a dragon type UMC, cause dragon pokemon are the greatest. I'm gonna start with FireRed, then onto SoulSilver (If I can get ahold of a DS in time), if not, i'll go Crystal, then emerald, then Platinum, then Black.

Quick question. Does it absolutely /have/ to be in order, or can I play Emerald then SS?

It can be in ANY order as long as you complete each region (excluding Unova, that's optional)

Well, the rules say go in order, so I would try to follow that as much as possible. It's prolly okay if you have problems getting the games, though - I wouldn't start with Platinum or something.

And Unova isn't really optional anymore as the games have been out long enough IMO. The lists have Unova in there...

I'm using gpSP atm for FireRed, so maybe if I can find a decent GBC emulator i'll just go Crystal, although I really want to try SS. But with only dratini's, FR will be long enough as is, at least until I unlock the National Dex.

dratini will evolve normally, it's only gen II pokemon or later that won't evolve.

Like I said, it's not a huge deal if you can't get the games, IMO.

-Picked up my coin case for the Game Corner.
-Entered Game corner, gathered coins, talked to grunt in front of the poster.
-Battled grunt, won, pushed the switch.
-Entered the Game Corner basement.
-Made my way through the basement, collected elevator key.
-Made way to Giovanni, defeated him.
-Returned to the Tower in Lavender.
-Defeated the grunts.
-Collected my Flute.
-Returned to Celadon and challenged the gym leader. With a team of fire, it was a very easy win for me.
-Headed toward the Snorlax. Woke him up and defeated him.
-Trained along the bridge.
-Arrived in Saffron City.
-Defeated the Fighting Dojo.
-Entered Silph. Co. prepared for a long drawn out trip around the building.
-Currently still in Silph. Co.

I don't understand why it really needs to be in order... I mean, you still beat each generation using Pokemon of one type, which is what a Monotype is... I really think its more for convenience that Alakazam asks you to go in order. I haven't been going strictly in order, and I'm going to be just fine Honestly, I think if you like copy your updates and put them in Microsoft Word or Notepad or something, and then if you choose to not go in order, once you complete the entire challenge, just PM Alakazam a large message that has all of your updates in spoilers or something. That'll be fine.

Go for VBA? I think it ought to run on your laptop. Its not that complicated/fancy of an emulator...

Pretty much all you need to know is:
1. Only fight with Pokemon that are Grass Types/evolve into Pokemon that is Grass Type.
2. Update every time you get around to it.

That's basically it.

Now then. I don't know if I want to finish Ice on Platinum or Steel on Platinum. Which to do, which to do...

jdthebud: I meant that Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite is the only dragon pokemon in Gen 1, so it'll be monotonous with 3 or 4 of the same pokemon all game.

myrrhman: I've got VBA, and it works, but I prefer to emulate the GBA games on my psp with gpsp. I meant that the DS emulator won't run on my laptop (or my PSP, obviously).
