Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

OK, Electric update:
-Rock Tunnel. Yep, hard. But on the way...Magnemite-->Magneton! YAY!
-Changed my Pokemon's names to OnDahFrige and Sparx. You should know which is which.
-Went over to Celadon and got mehself an Eevee, whom I named Joltz. That wouldn't make much sense if I didn't buy a Thunderstone and evolve it into Vaporeon, now would it?! Well, I didn't do that--you know what I did. Went back and kicked all the trainer's butts I left alone with Thundershock, later Thunderbolt(because Magneton are made for Special in this game, and mine would be fine with just Thundershock)and with Thunderbolt came Double Kick.
-Went into the Game Corner and made the ROCKET run away like the girly-man he is. I went into the lower floors and killed everyone else. Taught Sparx Double-Edge.

Zat eez eet! Yep. Yeah...

Lets see, I went around and did battle with the rest of the leaders, then did some runs on the elite four.

I finally beat Red after quite a few failed attempts but heres how it went down:

Pikachu fainted to an eathquake, espeon took two, Venasaur took 3, Snorlax took 4, Blastoise took 4, Charizard got critted with a Surf.

Update #3 on Platinum.

• Starting from Celestic Town, I have now gotten all eight badges and obliterated Team Galactic.
• Chomper also finally evolved into Garchomp inside the Snowpoint Gym.

Finally got some more time to play Ruby Normal.

Saw the Sub get captured, beat May in Lillycove, saw the sub get away in Magma's Hideout, and then this

Wasn't too hard. Audio 1 fainted, but landed a supersonic on Solrock (the first one missed). Jet 3 hit Lunatone with Steel Wing, and when I brought Dagger in, he Swords Danced twice before a Steel Wing and Crush Claw combo brought Solrock down. One badge to go!

Edit: Beat Maxie next to a snoozing Groudon, then beat said Groudon.

Okay so I started up Ruby, got You Liek?, a female Mudkip, I beat Roxanne, Saved Peeko, Beat Brawly, Delivered the letter to Steven, Found the Cap'n.

Brendan was incredibly difficult(more so than usual), but after several tries I got the Crit that I needed to beat Grovyle.

I beat Wattson, made my way to fiery path and caught my team's newest member, Derp, the Male Numel.

Enter long boring grinding stages.

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Ground).

Final Update (#4) on Platinum.

• Surfed to Victory Road, then made my way through it.
• Beat Jacen, then took on the Elite Four.
• Beat the Elite Four and Cynthia to become Champion!

  Atlas beat down Yanmega and Vespiqueen, then fell to Scizor. Chomper used Fire Fang for Scizor, Earthquake for Drapion, and 2 Fire Fangs for Heracross.
  
  
  
  
  Atlas OHKOed Whiscash and 2HKOed Gliscor with Wood Hammer after healing, then Wood Hammered Golem as well, before falling to Rhyperior. Sluggish finished Him with Surf, then OHKOed Hippowden with Surf to win.
  
  
  
  
  Atlas OHKOed Houndoom and Flareon with Earthquake before falling to Rapidash's Flare Blitz. Chomper finished Rapidash and OHKOed Magmortar with Earthquake. I switched to Scythe when Infernape came out and avoided his Earthquake. Scythe then OHKOed Infernape with Aerial Ace thanks to Infernape's Flare Blitz recoil.
  
  
  
  
  Led with Sluggish, who 2HKOed Mr. Mime with Surf, then switched to Atlas to take Alakazam's Energy Ball. Atlas 2HKOed Alakazam with Crunch, then switched to Chomper when Espeon came out and 2HKOed him with Crunch. Bronzong took out Garchomp with Psychic after taking a Fire Fang, then Scythe was sent out. After X-Scissor failed to do much, Scythe was taken out by a couple Psychics while I healed Atlas. Atlas then took out Brongzong with 2 Crunches, then was able to 2HKO Gallade with Earthquake.
  
  
• My team was all at L57 at this point, so I used my 10 Rare Candies to bring Scythe and Chomper to L60 and Atlas and Sluggish to L59.

Start of Ultimate Monotype Challenge #7.

Okay, I started a Grass Ultimate monotype a couple days ago, and I just finished Kanto on Red.

Name: Zane
Rival: Paul
Starter: Bulbasaur

Named Bulbasaur Planter, and after I beat brock easily with Vine Whip, I caught a Paras in Mt. Moon named Shroom.
Played through the game until I go to the Safari Zone, then caught Exeggcute there. Evolved him into Exeggutor with a Leaf Stone, and my team was set.

Exeggutor soloed with Mega Drain and Egg Bomb for Jynx.

Razor Leaf crit every time, all were OHKOs except for Machamp (2HKO).

Shroom beat Gengar, Arbok, and Haunter with Dig, Slashed Golbet, then fell to Gengar. Exeggutor Psychic'd him to win.

- Taught Shroom Hyper Beam here.

Shroom put Gyarados to sleep, then Sword Danced three times. Hyper Beam took out everyone with a OHKO. Healed the damage when needed, as Shroom is slow.

Shroom used the Spore/Sword Dance set up against Pidgeot, then beat Pidgeot, Alakazam, Exeggutor, and Gyarados with Hyper Beam and Rhydon with Dig before Charizard Fire Spinned Shroom away. Planter Toxic'd Charizard, then Charizard missed a couple times with Fire Blast and Fire Spin so Planter was able to survive.

So Kanto is down. Next up I will be using Silver, I guess, although it doesn't really matter. I plan on using Meganium, Jumpluff, and either Exeggutor or Parasect.

Ultimate Monotype Challenge – Water

Update #1
- Named my character Wasen
- Choosed my old pal Squirtle as a starter
- Nicknamed him Turtle
- Battled my rival as I named Aeon
- Walked through Route 1 and got my free Potion. Yay!
- Walked to the Poké Mart in Viridian to get Prof. Oak's parcel
- Returned back the parcel and got a Pokédex
- Trained a bit and later on continued to Route 22 to meet up with Aeon and having a battle. I won thanks to the training.
- Back to Viridian and north through Route 2 and reached Viridian Forest
- Escaped the creepy forest and reached Pewter City.
- Entered the gym and easily defeated Brock thanks to Water Gun and got the Boulder Badge.
- Walked through Route 3 and battled a lot of trainers
- What? Squirtle evolves… into Wartortle!
- Healed quickly and bought a Magikarp from the Magikarp salesman.
- Nicknamed Magikarp KingCarp
- Entered Mt. Moon and really wished I had some Repels since Zubats and Geodudes are really annoying.
- Whata? What the heck does Team Rocket Grunts doing here? Anyway, defeated them easily and trained my KingCarp with the old switch-technique.
- Oh. A Clefairy. KAWAII!!! But this is a Water Monotype so I have no time for him
- Give me the **** Helix Fossil!
- Exit the Mt. Moon and continued to Cerulean City
- After another fight so evolved Magikarp into the ferocious Gyarados!
- I guess I'm not ready for Misty yet… Nugget bridge ahead!
- Oh snap! Aeon appears and I wasn't ready for that! I'm lucky however and finished him off. Good training for KingCarp too. Got a Fame Checker as a reward.
- Defeated all six and got a Nugget.
- Caught a Oddish who will be my HM Cut Slave
- Another trainer defeated and sneaking behind him to get TM Secret Power that I probably never will need.
- Enter Bill's house and helped him. Got a S.S Ticket as a reward.
- Got back to Cerulean City and now it's time to challenge Misty.
- Defeated Misty and got the Cascade Badge

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Ice).

Update #2 on Crystal.

• Started in Ecruteak City.
• Went to Olivine and beat the Lighthouse, then Surfed to Cianwood.
• Surfed back and forth to get Strength, then beat Chuck with some difficulty.
• Flew back and beat Jasmine easily, then went to Mahogany Town. Manny evolved into Piloswine along the way.
• Beat Gyarados and then wasted Team Rocket in the Hideout.
• Beat Pryce pretty easily, then got the call about the Radio Tower from Elm.
• Wasted Team Rocket in the Radio Tower and Underground, beating Sleazy along the way. Inferno finally evolved into Jynx at L37, when Smoochum learns Psychic.
• Went through the Ice Path to Blackthorn City and destroyed the dragon gym and Claire with Myrrh's Ice Beam.
• Did the Dragon's Den quest, then after some vitamin shopping, I headed to Victory Road.
• Got through Victory Road pretty easily and beat Sleazy again.
• After some more vitamin and medicine shopping, I faced off against the Elite Four - Myrrh was at L45 and Inferno and Manny were at L44.
• They all went down pretty easily. Manny couldn't do much, but Myrrh and Inferno were able to pick up the slack.

Inferno took out Gyarados with 2 Psychics, then fell to Charizard. Myrrh OHKOed Charizard with Surf, the two L47 Dragonites with Ice Beam, then Aerodactyl with Surf after surviving Rock Slide. Lance's L50 Dragonite finished Myrrh with Hyper Beam, so Manny came in and 2HKOed him with Icy Wind to win.

I'm heading to Kanto aboard the S.S. Aqua now.

Finally finished Crystal. I'll cut to the point and post the screenies of my final team.

It was fun, and my whole team was awesome. Red beat me a few times with Snorlax, but after some grinding, not even the Special Def. beast could stand in the way of my Psychic team. :)

On to Ruby!

Okay so on Ruby I grinded Derp some then beat Team Magma at the volcano. I got to Lavaridge and beat the gym there. Once I got the Go-goggles I caught the Final member of my team: Mah Lady, a female Trapinch.

Enter another long grinding phase before Norman.

forgot to get a screen shot of faulkner. i had a bayleef, and tackle OHKO'd pidgey and 2HKO'd pidgeotto.

Easier than i thought. tackled the first two. poisoned scyther, and healed when fury cutter would have KO'd me, the poision took its toll and a tackle finished it off

not hard. was way higher level than quilava.
I caught a exeggcute in the forrest

Clefairy got ice beam with metranome and OHKO'd exeggcute. headbutt flinched and then ko'd clefairy. 2 CRIT razor leafs put miltank down.

i dont remember the details of this...

mud slap + confusion + luck = much victory!
