Have anyone started X&Y expecting to love a certain pokemon but you ended up loving another pokemon more.

Like for me I thought I would love Mega Blaziken and Slyveon but my team favorite turned out to be Greninja and Meowstic (girl).

I really thought I would love swirlix and slurpuff since I'm usually a sucker for the cute, round, and pink pokemon. However I have to say I just love talonflame! It's so legit. I also use Aegislash and mega Lucario all the time so they are also favorites.

I wasn't such a big fan of Aegislash at first, but loved it as soon as I began using it. It's got two separate forms (Blade and Shield), allowing you to use it either offensively or defensively. I personally use it mostly due to its offense. :P Along with that, another would be Goodra.

Gotta say Aegislash as well. I thought Honedge was really stupid at first, and didn't think it'd get one, let alone two evolutions. But you can't ignore how good Aegislash is competitively.

I thought Noivern was going to be really cool, but eh, it turned out average.

Espurr has taken control of my life, I went from PiKasnAp to Espuwott for a really, really, really, REALLY, good reason.

Hawlucha was one of the few pokemon not spoiled for me. So when it popped up, I was surprised and confused.

Now Hawlucha is easily my favorite.

Amaura/Aurorus. I was soooo excited to get it, but its typing cripples it severely, it's like the worst type combination imaginable... Not to mention its lack of a strong rock type special move. GF, are you serious? You don't give power gem to a pokemon with gems all over its body?? I was also a bit disappointed about its stats... It doesn't look at all like a pokemon with a 77 attack stat, it should have been 67 and those 10 points should've either gone to SpAtk or SpDef. Same for Goodra with its 100 Atk stat... Seriously? Should have been 70 or 80 and those points should have gone to HP... Its 80 Speed also bugs me...
So, in the end, instead of the aforementioned pokemon, I ended up liking more Sylveon, even though I never had any interest in the eeveelutions.

Honedge was a Pokemon I once had mixed feelings towards, but oh man Aegislash is goddamn strong. I actually want to add it as a permanent rotating team member now.

Pangoro I once thought would be another Ursaring/Beartic clone but wow I was surprised at how strong that panda was. Iron Fist-boosted Power-Up Punch and Hammer Arm surely put a dent in a lot of things.

And I wasn't expecting Vivillon to destroy so many early in-game opponents, that was what happened with mine every time he used Struggle Bug. This came from me thinking it was going to be another boring early Bug-type, but with an interesting form difference concept.

I thought Klefki was going to be awful. Then I hated playing against it, then I decided to try it out.... so much better on your side.

At first I liked hawlucha a little but after catching one and playing with it, it has to be one of my new favorites. I also hated barbaracle at first but after getting a shiny one, I like it:)

Thought I was gonna love Tyrantrum, hated it. Also hated Mega Blaziken. Just for kicks, I finally went for the grass starter.

Pleasantly surprised by how badass Chesnaught is. Just listen to that cry it makes upon entry. Don't know if Mega Evolutions will be around next gen, but Chesnaught definitely seems like it deserves one.

Lucario. I actually hoped that I'd like him but I guess I just couldn't feel how cool he is anymore. =/
Heliolisk. I never would have thought that I'd love this little critter. <3
Greninja. Wowowers you are such an epic Pokémon. I really hated you when I first saw you, but you saved me countless of times that I grew to love you. :3

For me it was that I thought I was gonna love Charizard's Megas more, and noivern too.
But they both kindof came up short, and I ended up falling in love with Greninja:) especially competitively.

I thought I would like the Fennekin line the most, but ended up liking Chespin line more.
When I first saw Meowstic revealed before XY was released, I wouldn't have expected it to be used on my team nor my favorite non-legendary psychic nor perhaps my favorite Kalos evolutionary line. I was kinda surprised to find out that the only kalos pokemon I really liked were those revealed before release.

I went in thinking I was going to love Spritzee, but then I absolutely fell in love with Amaura, Aurorus, and Furfrou.
I thought Goomy would go into my favorites, but now I just don't care about him.
I also thought Fennekin would be my favorite of the starters, but Chespin took the cake.

I had a whole different concept of a team than what I had now. I knew I was going to get both Fennekin and Espurr as teammates, but I came across a Flabebe and immediately caught it as a third member, and it turned out to be an awesome powerhouse. There goes my chance of using Sylveon. I got the Shiny Stone now, so I literally can't wait to evolve my (now) Floette to Florges, and teach it Calm Mind.

Honedge/Doublade/Aegislash also proved to be an amazing Pokemon. Mine is still a Doublade so once I get the dusk stone, I'll evolve it. Swords Dance + Shadow Sneak is awesomeness!~

And then there's Hawlucha. I might have caught one with a high-speed nature, because although it was underleveled, it was able to sweep Korrina.
