If you don't want to talk about food, there's always the weather.

:v

My problem is I grocery shop too much. There's a lot of food in my house, to the point where I never know what I'm having for supper. I really need to get better at planning meals.

I'd assume that 1000 posts this month is possible. We're more than halfway there post-wise, and just barely over halfway month-wise. If we hit at least 28 posts a day, we can do it. Or darn close to it.

I'll just have enough optimism for everyone! ;-;7

I find myself spending way too much money but I like to buy a lot of fruits and they seem to cost so much money. Especially this time of year 8(

I hate spending more than I really need to when I go grocery shopping. The most I will ever spend is ~$40 and that's only if I'm taking more than roughly a week and a half's worth of groceries (since I go grocery shopping once a week, I usually buy enough to last me that week). Otherwise, It's around $30-35 worth of stuff or so.
There is no way that I could ever spend that little at the grocery store! I buy a lot of produce since I eat a salad every night before dinner.

Then toss on the amount I pay to feed my pets. My kittens eat expensive dry food and a lot of it. Between that and litter, it's at least $20 gone to stuff I don't use.

I don't care for cheesecake. But fried mac n cheese balls. Oh my lord. I was supposed to be going there with a couple of girls after a funeral, but one bailed because she refused to be in the snow. If I had just gone with the other it would have been awkward. Very depressing. Missed out on spending ~$200 for bowling and dinner with a couple of girls that I'm not even dating. Good times.

Here we go about food again. {XD}

I somehow forgot to eat supper when I got home from work yesterday evening, so here I am eating a yogurt parfait in the middle of the night.
My body and muscles have been achey for the past couple of days without having let up. I wonder if I've been taking good enough care of myself...

Mmm...dairy...I love dairy. Well, some dairy. Full fat milk has to be one of the most disgusting things ever created.

How sensitive to dairy are you? It's probably only a bad thing if it either causes you serious discomfort or you've been told not to by a doctor~

Avoiding dairy must make life difficult though...alternatives always cost a fortune and taste horrible besides ._.

It's mostly that my face will blush, and I'll get some canker sores if I have waaay too much, otherwise it's not really that bad. When I was very young (3 or 4), I'd have really bad cramps in my legs in the middle of the night, but I've since gotten past those.
Sounds unpleasant, although at least you can tolerate a little bit :3
My grandmother had to give up dairy products entirely last year because of the problems they were causing her and she's had difficulty finding decent alternatives. Stuff is so expensive, and half of it tastes awful as well...

That's so the truth. When I was about 7, I had to eat this soy-based ice cream and it didn't even have that nice smooth ice cream texture, it was more chalky than anything and it really sucked. I also had some soy milk and it tasted really gross :( Keep in mind this is about 2001 or so when this was happening, so the movement for diets free of lactose or gluten weren't really a thing yet.

Yeah, I tried soy milk once...never again. Ever.
I'm not sure it's even a thing now, at least in terms of gluten-free stuff - at my local supermarket there is half an aisle devoted to a few random gluten-free things, and they cost twice as much as standard products. I feel sorry for people on gluten-free diets who have no choice but to opt for this stuff...

My cousin has celiac's disease, so gluten is a no-no for her. She also has a few other assorted allergies, strawberries is one of them. Whenever we get together, I have to be careful not to get fruit platters with strawberries on them.

My friend has celiac's as well, she gets special vouchers for money off but the Government are thinking of stopping that. She used to love cakes and pasta but now she looks at them like a sad puppy.
What makes me cross is when people go on gluten-free diets as it's the "craze" to lose weight, so of course the supermarkets increase their prices to cash in on it.

But I can't imagine being allergic to strawberries :pink_eek:

Strawberries are my favorite fruit! Ironically, my father is allergic to them (and shrimp, which I also like). Thank goodness I don't have any food allergies myself.

We have a local grocer, and the strawberrie he has are absolutely HUGE. They also cost twice the price of supermarket ones, but they're worth it. We get all our fruit, vegetables and meat cuts from specialists rather than general supermarkets for the better quality...after the whole horsemeat thing my mother frowns on buying supermarket-processed meat as well. xD

As for allergies, the only one I have that I'm aware of is blackcurrant...which really upset me as a kid, because everyone but me could have it, aha.
