Villainous Team

Okay, so, this is a poll and discussion on which is your favourite villainous team, and why. It could be design, their use of superior pokémon (they all use Golbat, so I doubt that's a major factor unless their leader is the basis of your argument), or whatever else. No anime references. That's not fair as it screws over Team Rocket and Team Magma, does Team Aqua some justice and makes Team Galactic good, but overall anti-climatic (but that's just my opinion).

I've put a quick synopsis of each team below. Also, please note there are separate sections in the poll for Teams Magma and Aqua, as well as a joint option if you like them both. The same is true for Team Rocket - Kanto, Johto or both.

Team Rocket

Team Rocket is an organized crime syndicate in pursuit of evil and exploitation of Pokémon based in the Kanto and Johto regions with a small outpost in the Sevii Islands.
While its main focus is stealing or capturing, then selling, rare and strong Pokémon, it also funds and conducts cruel experimental research on Pokémon. Their oath, as posted on the wall of one of their many bases, is "Steal Pokémon for profit. Exploit Pokémon for profit. All Pokémon exist for the glory of Team Rocket." Their ultimate goal is to take over the world using Pokémon.

Johto and Kanto - Team Rocket's main focus is in these regions.

Team Magma

Team Magma is one of two villainous teams found in the Hoenn region, alongside their rivals, Team Aqua. Team Magma's ultimate goal is to expand the amount of landmass in the world by awakening Groudon.

Team Aqua is one of two villainous teams found in the Hoenn region, alongside their rivals, Team Magma. Team Aqua's ultimate goal is to expand the amount of water in the world by awakening Kyogre.

Team Galactic is the villainous team in Sinnoh. Unlike previous villainous teams, their goals do not stop at the Pokémon world, with their plans being for the recreation of the entire Pokémon universe.

I appreciate I may have gone a little over the top with this post. However, why not? It's informative - if you haven't played the games, you can find out their goals, etc. :)

As for my vote? It goes to Teams Aqua and Magma. Why? Because my first game was Emerald, and I just find them to make me feel kinda happy. They also look the least weird overall - Badass Sailors and Hoodies, respectively. Team Galactic comes second, followed by Team Rocket who, whilst having cool bosses, simply are not challenging enough. Their more realistic lack of ambition also drives them down the scale.

However, it must be noted that this was very close, and the decision would probably be different were it not that I'm currently playing Emerald and have lost my passion for Gen IV.​

As much as I love Hoenn, Im going to have to go with Team Galatic. Their plans were way too dark which I loved. The outfits could have some changes done to them, but other than that I think Team Galatic is a prefect example of a Villain team. With still respect to the Rockets....

I think it currently (and has been for years) Team Aqua but it may change in Black/White, because when I played through PART of Pokémon White in Japanese, I really liked Team Plasma, so Not sure yet!

Team Rocket for me - problem with Magma and Aqua for me was that their plans were just too darn stupid. Herp derp 'causing this volcano to erupt will HELP EVERYONE! =D' was a bit much for me, tbh, whereas TR's plans were more realistic I thought - in Kanto it was to gain power and money and so forth, and in Johto it was to bring back Giovanni and mss with Pokemon via radio waves - easier to swallow for me. Galactic were all right I suppose, but I prefer TR.

Of course, if one includes side-games in this than Cipher from Colosseum/XD win out as they were more likeable (certainly the admins of the team at any rate) and their plan more defined and pretty 'evil' when you get down to it - working with another criminal gang which stole Pokemon and made them evil (Shadow Pokemon).

Team Rocket is my favorite.

I just like everything about them, they're awesome. They're outfits are also better than that of the other organizations.

Plus, they're the originals.

I personally don't like any of the ones listed. I find all their plans to be pretty stupid, especially Team Aqua and Magma. My favorite villainous team is Cipher, but they're not listed. Oh well.

Galactic. They, to me at least, had the best plans, and got closest to achieving them.

My favorite teams are Cipher and Team Snagem, but as others have said, they aren't listed. I personally prefer Team Magma from the teams listed.

I prefer Team Magma, but that's mostly because I only have Ruby at the moment, and played a GB years ago.

Would I get in trouble if I posted a thread asking people how they would run a team and what they would name it?

Anyway, I voted for Galactic because they had the best motives and were dead serious on achieving them.

I like Team Magma the best purely because of their outfits, but Team Galactic comes in a close second just because Commander Mars is awesome.

Sorry for not putting Cipher and the bad guys out of XD: Gale of Darkness...but I'm much more suited to polls on mainstream RPGs. Somebody else can start up polls about those xD

Cipher from Colosseum and XD for me. Any organization that hires an afro-wearing disco master is a winner in my book.

As for the main series games, I guess I agree with Team Rocket's goals of conquering the world and making money the most, though I don't agree with their choice of weak Pokemon.

Team Rocket is my favorite, because they're the most purely villainous. As I understand it, the other teams are just severely misguided, more or less believing that they'll make the world a better place by completing their plans. They're only villains inasmuch as their beliefs about the world are false, making them sympathetic to a degree. Team Rocket's more realistic, because they know they're only helping themselves, and they don't care. You can't see them as anything but pure villains.
(Note that I haven't finished playing through any game with Team Galactic in it, though I know the basic gist of their plan.)

Team galactic was my favorite but before them i would have to go with team rocket due to them always losing and failing so hard but never giving up.

My favourite was Team Aqua and Magma in Emerald, where the actual storylines made sense, with Team Aqua stealing Stern's submarine and living in a cave on the ocean, and Team Magma trying to erupt a volcano and living in the volcano.

Team Rocket (Red / Blue / Yellow / FireRed / LeafGreen)

Team Rocket in Yellow was my favorite. The differences with having Jessie and James in the game really made me feel like I was playing the story how it was meant to be played, since I was always under the impression that the games should resemble the anime as much as they can, but still give you that freedom to do what you like and catch them all. Though, I can't say I've ever done that.

I do have a soft spot for Aqua, though. Archie was such a badass.

Team Rocket, because they're the only ones that are realistic. Magma/Aqua are the pinnacle of stupidity.
