    Vote on your Favorite Protagonist!​


    Hello and welcome to a new multi-platform event, that will last several weeks!

    In this event, your objective is to vote for your favorite Pokémon protagonist across a series of polls. To begin, we will start by region*, and see who is the favourite protagonist from each area**. Afterwards, the winner will form a tournament round, where we will do 4 sets of up to 4*** winners, and then take the top two options from there into 2 sets of four, then a final poll.

    Where can I vote?


    You can vote for the first set of people in this thread at the top - the Kanto nominees! You can also vote on our social media pages: Twitter (will use its own poll system), Bluesky (a Google poll), Instagram (a Google poll) and Facebook (a Google poll). Yes, it's better to not go around voting multiple times, but we won't be monitoring things that closely. But don't cheat, that's just boring. This means the winner of each poll will be from all polls (here, Twitter, Google poll) added together, not per platform.

    Polls will run roughly 4 days, and be posted every week as a new thread (or on social media, as a new post). We may speed things up for the spin-off regions.

    Meanwhile, share some propaganda for your pick each week! Take about why you're voting for your character, and make fun of the others (respectfully, of course). We'll also use the results and input for a Daily article summarising the whole event once it ends.

    * Hisui will be treated as separate to Sinnoh.
    ** Spinoff games will also be considered! Orre will feature, while we will also consider the Ranger games' regions separately, but lump the Snap/New Snap regions (and hence protagonists) together.
    *** We may see what the Legends: Z-A protags look like before we hit the tournament phase... pending TPC(i). If so, we'll do a poll on them! Otherwise, one set of 4 polls will have less options... Or we can consider a second chance for the losing protag with the most amount of votes!

    Rules

    1. No Trolling - This includes things like voting on behalf of other users, inputting joke responses in the Google Forms, using bots or creating alt accounts to try and game the voting system, and other dishonest activities. Please don't do that stuff.
    2. Have Fun - We all love Pokémon, and we hope that you derive enjoyment and have a good time with this event!

    I picked Leaf. I just like her design the best. Though I'm not at all fond of how they did her character in the Let's Go games... >.>
     
    I'm voting for Red, but it was a very hard choice between him and Leaf.

    A question: For games that involve trainer customization, are we ranking them based off their default appearance or any appearance/outfit of our choice? It doesn't impact my vote here since I like Red and Leaf better than any Chase or Elaine outfit, but it definitely will for Kalos.

    Such an attractive design. Her outfit? Classic. If it wasn't for Leaf (and a few other trainers), I would have ditched the Pokemon fandom years ago. So yeah, I will defend my girl till the day I die.

    Never liked the other guy. Completely overrated and a generic design. He was a complete pushover for me and the battle with him was utterly disappointing. Like, at least use a Thunderstone, dude.

    As for the other two... who are they? One was a character on Seinfeld and the other is a major banking/finance company?

    Oh... they were in those other remake games that ironically also ruined Leaf's classic design? Yeah, I pretend those don't exist.
     
    All the votes are in! On the forum, Red just won in a close fight with Leaf! Sorry, LGPE protags, you just didn't compare. But what about across all polls?

    ...Red still wins! But still not by much. In fact, on Twitter, Red had the same number of votes as Leaf!

    On Sunday we'll continue with Johto - Gold/Ethan, Kris, and Lyra.

    My own view/understanding is that Green in LGPE is a different person to Leaf in FRLG.

    That is up to you for your vote! There's no one answer. After all, one can consider their representation in other media or games (e.g. Masters) for this.
