The issue why they always make starters the playable ones is because they are like mascots and are popular with the fanbase.

Evolution doesn't matter as much in MD than in the main series. It takes a good time of gameplay before you can evolve your starter and that works fine.

I just tried to dexnav chain and was actually doing great but at 61 I was talking to my sister and messed with the sd card slot cover and accidentally popped that out and it reset the game. >.> I almost threw the game.

Anyways, I'm good with the non-evolved starters and the choices for MD. I'm thinking of using Fenniken and Snivy for my SMD team. X3 I got that cause I have a Fenniken pin and Snivy figurine and I thought how cute they'd be in a MD team. Then again, that would mean that I'm a fire type in all four series. XD
