HMs are supposedly moves that are vital for the plot.


Except, then, why is Fly an HM? It's convenient, yes, but not vital. And what about Defog?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever beaten the Battle Frontier in Generation III or IV? I've only gotten the silver symbols at most, but the gold ones are too hard to get. :(

Umm gen 3 i got all the silver and in gen 4 i believe i defeated every facility. Makes me wish i didnt delete that game file ;-;

In early games, HM is annoying for me. Because they can't be erased, I didn't have the energy to change Pokemon each time an obstacle comes around like cut the trees, just to preserve my main pokemon's moveset. I find myself not caring later on anymore, lol.

I like Surf because if it exists in real life I would have used it- I can't swim for life in beaches and even pools.

I haven't hardly done any of those. I just found an Emerald cart at a flea market recentally but I'm waiting for berries from me and my sister's games for my Feebas on there, so I haven't actually gotten that far into it yet, and I've only played up to Victory Road on a Platinum rom.

^If only we could use HM03 on ourselves.

In Gen 4, I've gotten the gold from Dahlia and the silver from Argenta and Caitlin (totally forgot she was in Gen 4). I still pick up HeartGold from time to time and try to beat the others ^^;
 
What's HM03 again?

Also, I have yet to get far enough in a Gen 3/4 game. My brother has my copy of AS until he finishes his Nuzlocke (it's fine with me, I don't mind my files being deleted unless I state explicitly that I do) and my Pearl got corrupted. :(

Oh god you got hit by corruption... I had two games corrupt on me, Black 2 and Alpha Sapphire, both of which I enjoyed. I could literally not restart them so they are now completely useless and I had so much built up on those files.

The only game I ever had corrupt itself was White 2 and after a couple of tries my save file was back with no harm done. Literally finished the game out of fear of that happening again. XD

Off topic but:
So I learned how to do the Mew Glitch on Yellow and Blue on an emu. Then I got curious about if it was on other games. The Japanese Red/Green games do have the same Nugget Bridge Mew Glitch, so I checked my Green version and the last save I had was ON NUGGET BRIDGE SO I CAUGHT MYSELF A MEW ALRIGHT JUST A LITTLE EXCITED

also I can't bayleef I left that game at Nugget Bridge I got that way back in like May XD

Man, doing the Mew Glitch in Gen 1 is fun, especially if you know how to manipulate it right. I've actually gotten Missingno. from it before, which is pretty much the only way to get Missingno. in Yellow as they "fixed" the old man way.

You can also get a glitch pokémon named Q with the Mew Glitch in Yellow and it can merge pokémon and it is awesome and weird.

Frontiers who? I can never beat any of them, lol. Probably reasons.

Also, I was clueless of glitch and missingno... it really confused me at first, also a but weird. But then eh, Pokemon is weird so meaning that's not really weird at all.

Mew glitch is the most fun thing in a Pokemon game I've ever experienced, and I dont recall ever being so happy. I actually found about it when I nearly ended the game, but I managed to find a workaround. Was really proud lmao.

I think we can all agree the mew glitch is one of the best things in the pokemon universe. I didnt figure it out for a while though haha

I've never tried the Mew glitch. I didn't learn about it until long after I was actively playing Red/Blue/Yellow. Sounds pretty cool though, I'd be pretty happy if I managed to pull it off and get a Mew haha. If only glitches like that existed in modern games~

The best modern gen Pokemon glitches I could find were the Honey in a PokeMart in DP and the BW surfing to land on a person glitches honestly. They're pretty funny for no apparent reason. XP
Sigh.... But no where near as cool as Mew Glitch.....

Speaking of Mew Glitch, did you know with a lot of dedication you can actually get Mew as early as Mt Moon in Yellow? Was a total pain but I tested it and got it to work, I've only heard it once and that was this week with no one else talking about it, so sorry if I missed something here and everyone knew about it before. ^~^U
