You may ask why I'd do a poll on episode titles. I say

    [PokeCommunity.com] [Weekly Poll #10] Now Pun-Free!

As all of you probably know the dubbed episodes tend to include a puns in each title. Here's a few examples.

    So Near, Yet So Farfetche'd
    UnBEARable
    Do I Hear a Ralts?
Buizel Your Way Out of This!

Are we on the same page now? I sure hope so. We don't know many Black and White dub titles yet, but it appears that TPCi is cutting down on the episode title puns. Who knows, maybe they're done with them all together? My question to you is whether puns should stay or go.

I think they're cutting down on them because they're running out of ideas on puns. But yeah, the episode titles need to be straightforward and general, not silly. I'd say let them go.

I actually liked the episode titles being littered with puns. One of the things I liked when researching an episode's article was seeing where the pun in question originated from. A lot of them are fairly known, but some others seem to be obscure or neat references from earlier time periods, such as Barry's Busting Out All Over!, which references the song June Is Busting Out All Over from the musical Carousel, a song I did not know prior to the episode airing.

More straightforwardness would be good during some episodes, though. For example, whichever episode involving the Tao Dragon conflict could simply be titled Reshiram vs. Zekrom, rather than having some pun. I liked the Gaining Groudon and The Scuffle of Legend pun titles, though.

Too much straightforwardness would detract from the dub's quality, IMO. IMO, Pokemon (even the Japanese version) is supposed to be a blend of comedy and seriousness designed for kids, not overly straightforward and serious all the time. Otherwise, it'll just become some anime that attempts to be "serious" but fails.

I'd hate for the puns to be axed completely... While other shows like Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh! use puns occasionally, the U.S. dub of Pokemon is notorious for them, seemingly moreso than any other kids' show (or any show, for that matter), something Pokemon should take pride it - seriously, it probably has a world record or something for this practice. Simplicity can be good when used well, rather than resorting to cliche lengthy Japanese anime titles.

In conclusion, the writers should mix "serious" and "punny" titles. But if they're going to be using puns, let them be somewhat familiar at least. A Sandile Gusher of Change is currently the weirdest Pokemon pun I have ever heard, and I don't even know its proper origin (a gusher of cash...?). >_>

Now we just need to work on those exclamation points that appeared in nearly every darn DP title, which looked like they were used as if they're supposed to make the show more exciting or something... -_-

Well i'm sure they won't be gone forever, I did actually like them - They didn't show up very often and they were kinda funny in my opinion. I guess B&W will just be sticking to simple title.

But to answer the question; no I don't want them to get rid of them completely.

I think A Sandie Gusher of Change! is the moment where I saw how some of there puns really are.

I'm kinda hoping they coul sue the original titles once in a while.

Saw how what some of the puns really are? Lame? Cool? @_@

You want to TPCi to sue 4Kids for making the original titles...? Or use puns once in a while? Clarify, plz!

This is why I tend to hate spelling errors, similarly-spelled words, and word omissions... T_T

I think they should make one every once in a while, but you should never overdo it with a good thing because then it gets repetitive and borring.

The puns never made me laugh, but without the puns...well, it'd be a bit blander to put it simply. Not sure how to describe. I'd have to agree with some puns, but only in comedy episodes. Like Zuruggu's hatching could have a pun name while the more serious and straight-forward episodes have straight-forward names.
