My first ORAS mega to be competitively trained; will be Mega Audino. :D

Hype hype hype for the mega white mage in doubles play woot.

Anybody wanna talk game for the normal / fairy mon?

Smogon has released another change in tiering this week, and here's what rose and what fell:
Spoiler:

What's everyone's thoughts on the changes? Excited to see Metagross back in OU? Or all those who rose thanks to new Megas? Gallade I could see jumping to OU in the near future as well thanks to his new Mega and amazing coverage options.

Wobbuffet at this rate could eventually drop to PU in coming months. It could also be a matter of time before Lopunny jumps to OU given how fast and strong its Mega is, so good things may come for the bunny.

I dont know but most of these actually make sense :p
I believe its probably because of the Megas that most of these were moved up which kinda makes sense so im kinda happy about it.
Although since Salamence's mega is An Uber what does that say about others what other new Megas could be moved up to Uber?

I haven't battled any Mega Beedrills yet, and since Bug is one of my favorite types, Weedles hatch really quickly, and I've already nabbed the Beedrillite during my hunt for TM13, I think that will be my first ORAS-exclusive mega. The setup seems pretty easy, since none of its movepool is acquired by breeding and we have move tutors in Gen VI now.

Can't wait to start breaking some Fairy-type walls with this bad boy.

Wobbuffet also fell, from RU down into NU. Seems like things are getting worse for this guy. Houndoom also falls, going down from UU to RU. And Leafeon gets knocked down to PU but it does at least compensate for that tier's loss of Pidgeot, Lopunny, Altaria and Beedrill.[/SPOILER]

Also Lopunny shouldn't go OU. I honestly think it doesn't hit hard enough and is too vulnerable to priority. It's basically just a LO Ambipom with a resistance to SR and Hi Jump Kick. This thing disappointed me everytime I used it.

You have a point there, but another teammate can always handle the priority users. In terms of priority moves, the only ones Normal-types really have to worry about is Vacuum Wave and Mach Punch, plus this thing has a resistance to Sucker Punch so it does at least have a resistance to one of the most common moves from that department.

Mega Lopunny has to worry about every single priority move in existence. 65/94/96 bulk is nothing to write home about, especially for a mega. Yeah, it resists Sucker Punch, but is weak to Talonflame's Brave Bird in return.

Hmm very interesting but explainable point. It'll probably be unable to make the cut for OU due to its super-frail defensive stats, the aforementioned "birdspam" and everything trying to hit it before it hits them, but I could see it making UU instead because there's less priority spam there compared to OU.

I think Talonflame has lately been the cause of a significant lack of Grass, Bug and Fighting-types in OU. All because they die so easily to the speedy bird. This is why lots of Grass, Bug and Fighting-types tend to end up in lower tiers, where they don't have to fear priority Brave Birds.

There are actually quite a few OU Fighting-types (Mega Medicham, Terrakion, Breloom, Keldeo and Mega Heracross) and Mega Gallade will probably join them too.

And they'll have to fear the mighty Fletchinder in RU and UU. Sure, Fletchinder's not cancer, but it's still legit.

lol terrakion, keldeo and mega gallade are not going to uu anytime soon.

srsly lol talonbird hits evrything hard bar birdspam check and counters. does that mean stuff are going to go to uu becos of that? no. srsly just run checks/counters for talon (eg lando-t, rhyperior, zapdos, do i have to name them all lol)

also i voted for dark azelf fod best battler :))) im vveryy proud of that

mega gallade will be ou, like omg after sd it rekts everything gggggg :(( it's a better mega medicham basically. mega altaria also shrekts after a dragon dance and you cant wear it down with status cos it heal bells then roosts ;-; very stronk

ya something like that. full offensive dd, special and cleric sets are other sets mega altaria can run

edit: return/body slam over dragon claw tho

I forgot that Mega Altaria has Pixilate, doh. It's probably better off running Return > Dragon Claw, I would think. Otherwise, it's walled by literally every Fairy-type out there.
just made my edit if you havent noticed.

also i'd like to see thoughts on mega lopunny. while its defenses arent particularly outstanding, at least they arent at mega beedrill's standard lol. scrappy allows it to hit mega sableye super effectively which is huge, unless its burned (yes, i have stalled a burned mega lopunny with mega sableye) and it offers utility with healing wish and fake out.

generally its good for offensive teams that needs healing wish support imo, opinions?

I generally don't like DD Altaria because it's kinda outdone by DD Zard X (still think Tailwind+SD is better but eh). Special variants are probably better, but I've never used them yet.

As for Healing Wish Lopunny, at a glance I think ScarfRachi is better since it can also scout and can cripple a wall if it packs Trick. However, I still have to experiment with HW Lopunny, as in very early ORAS (before the game's actual release) I used Fake Out/High Jump Kick/Return/Ice Punch.

both have different stab and different options lol. zard x cant heal bell toxic or twave and altaria can get burned and needs a turn to heal if it runs heal bell.

also zard x has to rely on moves such as flare blitz to do damage, and flare blitz does recoil. think mega altaria, it can run double edge (i think it learns it), but it usually runs return which is recoilless. on top of that, +1 and pixilate beefs it up so ya...

this is kinda like comparing mega sharpedo to mega gyarados lol
