No matter how long or short you've been into anime, I'm pretty sure anime has taught us a lot of things.

From knowing the phrase "Just one more episode" is a complete lie because you're obviously not going to watch just ONE more episode, HSotD and BTOOOM! teaching you boob physics, learning about the power of the potato chip fom Death Note. and that no matter what you do; you will always end up having a beach scene in your life.
From always eat bread on your way to school, to characters that sit near the window are usually important,
to If you scream long enough and hard enough you can defeat any enemy to "people die if they are killed"

Of course there are the more serious answers to how you should never give up no matter what people say, fight till the end, to never judge a book by it's cover and to never abandon your friends.

    What has anime taught you?

"people die if they are killed"
Damn, here I thought I would be first...

learning about the power of the potato chip fom Death Note
    And even this was mentioned...
Oh god, I have nothing to add.

Maybe just... real people can have an angelic voice. It's HanaKana's one.

EDIT: I did forget something. If there's a number to be counted, it's always over 9000.

That whenever two rivals are battling, they'll always scream each other's names.

Also, the existence of chikuwabu and the power of twintails.

Nakama power is the ultimate power.

    Don't underestimate people.

Don't be a dick unless you're a main character, and then it's okay because you're the main character.

    Always carry a big sword.

If your nose hairs are long enough you can use them as a jump rope or even a whip.

I learned that metal frying pans are a reliable way to protect yourself from the rain, even if there's lightning. This is how it's properly done:

    Spoiler:

On a more serious note, I learned how to play card games by watching Yu-Gi-Oh, and then I slowly got competitive at it.

    Let's see...

    - "In order to obtain or create something, something of equal value must be lost or destroyed."
    - Believe in the you that believes in yourself.
    - "Miracles don't just happen, people make them happen."
    - If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Not too many times, though.
    - Be careful what you wish for.
    - What's right or wrong isn't always black and white.
-You're a weirdo if you keep snails in your pencil case.
-Wearing a cowbell will turn you into a cow.
-Good friends help you move. Best friends help you hide a body.

    Ohh, I like this topic.

    • If it walks and talks like a 12 year old girl, it's probably an 18 year old boy.
    • Don't let the mascot die.
    • You can lift a sword of any size, as long as you're a main character.
    • Don't sign that contract!
    • The power of justice is stronger that well... actual strength.
    • Gravity (lol)

By watching Toradora, anime taught me how to cook and clean.

NHK taught me the importance of going outside once in a while.

Shinsekai Yori showed me the ethical problems related to manipulation especially of those who are younger.

It's most things. I think they had Madoka in mind though.
Yes, that's what I was thinking of... Though that theme is present in a lot of fiction, so perhaps I should have clarified with something more specific like:
"Don't make contracts with suspicious talking animals. Or if you do, be absolutely certain that your wish is what you really want, and ask the suspicious talking animal for the fine print of the contract that it normally doesn't mention."

-That Japan is generally better at making animated shows than Western countries.
-That it's common to run to school while having a slice of bread in your mouth and eating it without using your hands.
-The more you yell and grunt, the stronger you become.
