What have we learnt from PC?

I was thinking earlier about things I wasn't aware of before I joined PC and thought it would be interesting to share these with each other as a bit of fun.

As an example, things I have learnt from PC:
    • What MRA is
    • The irony of MRA
    • The phrase "in and of itself" (seriously never encountered this collection of words prior to this forum, some of you are worse offenders than others but its use seems like a slight obsession in D&D )

    And some random observations:
    • Despite our relatively small population, a considerable number of members are Australian
    • A few members are very predictable and I've been tempted to make drinking games out of your posts. (Don't worry though, the same could be said of me!)

time and time again i have learned that i am the funniest and most self-absorbed member of this forum and i hope you have all learned that as well

I've learned that you people are giants. And that the forum is mostly caucasian.

I've learned that if you are a pompous all knowing member, then people avoid threads you've last posted in like the plague. I may or may not know this from experience

i have no clue, but I'm on my sixth cup of coffee. This hour.

Actually I think I've learned I need to keep quiet about some things. People tend to get squeamish about eradicating an entire civilization for the greater good. So I think I need to stop talking to those people because I get into trouble with the thought police.

I learned that half naked dancing men in signatures is a problem for certain concerned fathers because it might turn their children gay. So be aware if you are straight when you join PC. I also learned that you can actually grow just as close if not closer to online friends as real life friends.

I pretty much learned about the Internet and how to type... And how to follow rules... thanks to PC. I joined when I was 12 years old, so I had a lot to learn. And learn I did owo...

    - People aren't nearly as complicated as they like to think they are

    More to follow

I feel the past year has given me a great deal of insight into the dark side of tumblr.

It's a great way to kill time at work. Yeah, I should probably be working... but considering I'm in an office by myself all day I can get away with little snippets of activity that probably equate to like a full hour a day lel. Oh, and that Sodom has good taste in men! *still drooling over his avatar*

But on a more serious note, I discovered that I *LOVE* roleplaying and that while I do like writing, it's not so much works of fiction. At least not, like, novels. A screen play or something of that nature probably because I'd have an easier way to exercise greater control over the mood. I learned what a ROM hack is, and even how to make one--even if my ability to do so is pretty crappy. I have the knowledge, just not the skills :( I can't sprite to save my life, I can't map to my life, and scripting is a pain in the ass that doesn't seem to ever work properly for me, although I'm probably doing SOMETHING wrong...

I look at other people's signatures and realise that most of them are better than what I've ever used. This is especially true from some CSS signatures I've seen.
